It sounds like it's time to escalate. Does your state have a department of consumer affairs? You could also call your attorney generals office to see if they can offer some advice. Also, local tv or newspapers sometimes have consumer advocates that work on your behalf.

You shoulda ate him. When I got my jungle training back about 35 years ago, I got introduced to the fine art of cooking snakes over a campfire. They're good! Stick some branches with a "Y" on each side of the fire and have a cross stick to make a rotisserie. Skin him, chop off the head, split him open and wrap him around the stick. Baste with a little butter if you have it. Texture is slightly stringy and tastes almost like chicken breast.

It could be a number of things. My guess is bad/stale gas or fowled plugs. I'd start out by blowing out the air filter from inside out. Rinse the green foam filter liner. Take out the plugs and see if they are fowled. Clean or replace them ($2.00 ea.) and make sure the plug wires are on good. Push and pull the choke cable and peek inside the carb to see that it is opening and closing correctly. Inspect the fuel lines backwards from the carb to the fuel block filter. Make sure the lines aren't kinked or cracked. If the gas is old or moisture could have gotten in, fill it with new or use one of the additives to get rid of moisture.

The idea of a pulley system never occurred to me! If you want to lift the feed roller by hand that would be the way to go. The foot pedal really doesn't take much effort. Even my cousin who weighs about 130 lbs can operate it quite easily. When pushed down by hand it feels pretty stiff, but the legs don't even notice the effort. It really adds convenience since you can feed material with both hands while simultaneously lifting the roller. However, I don't think a pipe would do the job for very long. We made ours out of solid 1" stock.

Broken is a relative concept. You may have one of two problems. Air in the hydraulic system from a loose fitting on the suction side of the system, or a mal-functioning pressure relief valve on the loader. Cycle the system several times to relieve any air, and check for any hydraulic leaks on the suction side. If you aren't used to working on hydraulic systems, it may be best to have the dealer check out the pressure relief. Hydraulic fluid under pressure can cause serious injury and infection.

I recently serviced my 1725 NH diesel. A friend was helping. It was running fine before hand. After changing the fuel filter, it must have got an air bubble. I was going to open the bleeder, but before I could do that, he had already tried to crack loose one of the injectors to bleed it. SInce I got it started, it has no power. It bogs down when I'm hogging. It has to crank for about 20 secs to start. It has a very slow response to the accelerator. Is there a filter in the tank that could be blocked? I can't hardly use the front end loader now because it is so weak. It's not getting fuel, maybe the fuel shutoff is broken inside???? Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Hello, for those of you thinking of buying a tractor, here are some things to consider. I have been an owner of four Lenar Tractors. The reason I have owned four of them is because the tractors were faulty to the point of the dealer having to pick them up and replace them. They all suffered a major breakdown of some sort before the six months dealer warranty expired. The warranty date stayed the same with each new tractor. This went on until the six months expired and the last tractor he droped off to me had faults before I hit fifty hours but the time period had elapsed and he went out of business, but not before he sold me a FailSafe warranty that Lenar approved of for this tractor. Well, what I found out from Lenar when I tried to get the problems fixed with this tractor is that when a dealer sells you the tractor, he is obligated to work on it. Well if he goes out of business, who works on the tractor. The answer is you do unless you are lucky and find a mechanic to work on it. Who pays for it, you do. Can you just take it to another Lenar dealer, maybe, the Lenar dealers are only obligated to work on the tractors that they sell, they are under no obligation whatsoever to work on another Lenar tractor. I was willing to drive about five hours to Indiana to have a Lenar dealer work on this tractor, but he said his insurance would not allow him to. So I am stuck with fixing this myself. The warranty that Lenar promises or advertised is only as good as the guy who sells the tractor. Sure they will send me parts for replacement, but if you are not a mechanic, who will replace them. So when buying a tractor, one should consider, if the tractor breaks down, who will work on it? Is it a tractor that you can take to any shop that works on ag equipment and have it fixed? If that was the case, would I have been willing to drive five hours to Indiana? Are parts easily obtainable, how soon will the tractor suffer a breakdown, what type of service are you going to get from the manufacturer? These are some really important questions that needs to be asked. Lenar said they will give me technical support and parts. So when I told him my engine was leaking oil, the technical support I got was "Yeah, thats a problem you should fix. Tell me what parts you need and I will send them." Well, I am not a mechanic, my dealers out of business, no mechanic wants to look at it, so my best judgment call was, I need a new engine, when can I expect it. No dice, said Berry, (the Lenar rep) I need a mechanic to tell me this. Basicly, he is off the hook until I find a mechanic to look at it and when one of their own dealers wont look at it, what is the chance of any other mechanic looking at it. Would I get this service from New Holland, JD, or Kubota??? Would Berry treat you any different if you bought a Lenar and had the problems that I have had? Buyers out there, beware of what you spend your money on. Service after the sale is what makes the difference between a Lenar and a higher price machine. Ever tractor will break down, some sooner and some later, but when they do go down, do you Berry them or do you take them to a well known dealer and have them fixed. Find out before you put yourselves in debt. The tires are available for a sixty dollar difference for the bar tires. There are several different mower configuration available on these units. Good mowers!

As a option. Keep the 3300 and add a three point as well as a lawn tractor to your fleet. It is very hard to go down in size as much as you are looking at. Would the BX do it yes, but not with the force of the L-series and that is what you are used to. The fact of moving down that much and still having a good size property tells me to worry over customer satisfaction of the time to do jobs.

Last Friday I bought a 5' King Kutter and used it over the weekend. It was $500 without the slip clutch. It seems to be strong enough. I took it through some new trails that I was making and it had to go through some pretty nasty stuff. I guess if I was to do it over I would get the slip clutch. I've already replaced the shear bolt 4-5 times.

Just looked at your pics. They remind me of the time I got stuck (see my pics). The R4s plugged and wouldn't develop traction (since traded for R1s). Anyway, I got out by laying down a bunch of branches under and behind the tires and that gave me enough traction to get up the hill. Of course you'll want to raise up your cutter, be in 4wd, and use your differential lock.

If you had a leak and as a result now have an air-lock (too much fluid left the system), that may explain how the steering operated fine and now has quit. You may have to repair the leak and bleed the steering system.

If indicator lights go out when trying to crank the engine its usually an indication of one of two things. 1) Battery not providing any amps when called - you already checked this. 2) Starter motor requiring too much juice. It sounds like you may have a bad starter motor and or circuit. To check this put a heavy duty ammeter in the starter circuit, if you attempt to crank the engine and you see many amps being drawn then you know you have a starter motor problem. If not you can go back to saftey relays. I would isolate the starter motor and see if you can get it to turn independently. You could spend an awful amount of time trying to isolate a saftey switch problem that doesn't exist.

I agree with Mark on this one. I have carried several railroad ties on my carry all that I am sure was approaching over 1,000 lbs and driving through the yard hitting bumps and dips and it did fine and nothing was bent or broken. If it could only handle 550 lbs. before things started breaking then it would seems pretty much useless to have the hydraulics able to pick up 1300 pounds.
