I'm thinking what grinder said. Unless you have exceptionally clean gravel under your pad. Then not sure how long it would be before contanimated with sediment and unusable.

I'd lean toward a good squeegie with cups at end to move lots of water.

I assume you get snow where you are,therefore I would make it a min. of 15' travel surface,for snow removal and passing.
An 18-24 in. base of good clean sharp gravel(not stone)
for a base should be sufficent. I would use a 6" minus
product.(all stone bigger than 6" screened out. Frost will
pick up anything bigger to the surface.
Then topcoat with 2-3 inches of 1-2" minus or reclaimed asphalt. Loose stone on the surface will not freeze solid
and is a pain to plow or blow. Reclaimed asphalt doesn't
mud up and heads you in the right direction for paving down the road. Also it is easily regraded year to year.

Does the selonide on the starter click? If so Put your battery tester on and turn the key. Does the voltage drop to 0? If so I'd look at the starter/selonid. If not It is possible the ignition switch has a short, loose plug or go and look for loose connections in the small wiring harnesses many run into relay switches. Or as you have mentioned a safety switch it makes sense that the lights would not go out if a safety switch was not operating but the key might disconnect all that in the start position so you have full crank power. I'd check pto. Then look Under the tractor many times a branch will wiggle a switch wire.

I dont know how old you are or how long you plan on haveing this building, but most good quailty steel has a 20 or 30 yr warrenty.Ive got several steel roofs and none have rusted yet.The good steel panels are plated [they call it electrogalvanizing],then epoxy coated.My oldest one is 15yrs, and looks the same as when built.Do not use treated wood for the purlins, this will destroy the steel.Fasten it with grommeted screws,not nails. The nails will loosen up in time and leak.The screws can be snugged up if this happens, the nails cannot.Drill the holes for the screws before you un-band the steel.Drill thru all the sheets at once,your screws will be all spaced the same and you wont scratch up the steel trying to drill up on the roof while keeping the layout straight.If your pitch is less than 3/12, you may want to use double stick urethane tape at the joints. Silicone, or rtv does not hold up for the long haul.Do not use the tape at any butt joints, just the laps.

Dave, It was already dead.... well, mostly dead.

That funny turn the body takes in the picture about 4 inches down from the head is where I whacked it with the shovel and severed the body with only a chunk of skin holding it together.

Not only that, I didn't take the pictures for nearly an hour and it was still rattling weakly and trying to bite!

It's only the second one I have seen on my land in 5 years. One on the front steps, and one on the front porch.

When I buried it about 90 minutes after I "killed" it it was still moving, opening it's mouth and unsheathing it's fangs.

Tenacious? I don't think I want to dig it up and check.

I just bought a new B7610HSD-F R4 (folding ROPS and R4 Industrial tires) for my 11 acres. I also got the newer style LA352 loader, an Agric AL-40 tiller, and a Woods rear discharge RD-6000 finish mower. I negotiated for 50hr service parts which included oil filter, hydro filter, and 5 gallons of hydro. Delivery of nearly 75 miles was also included.<br>

When the driver delivered it (and on time!), he handed me a box of service items which had more items than requested. He also threw in a second oil filter, air filter, and fuel filter as well as a gallon of gear oil for the mower and tiller. That's enough filters and oil to get past the 100 hour service point.<br>

I didn't bother negotiating the price because this tractor is rare in the NorthWest, and the dealer talked himself down to a price that was inline with nearly every post and website that I've found.<br>

Anyway, as appreciation for the helpful comments that I've read at this website, here is the breakdown of prices:<br>

B7610HSD-F R4 Tractor/Loader: $13,250<br>
Agric AL-40 tiller: $1475<br>
Woods RD-6000 mower: $1675<br>
Total price including hats and pens for the family: $16400.<br>

Also, since I mentioned that I live in the NorthWest, let me say share my experience with some dealers.<br>

On a B2910 can we use a 5 ft rotary blade (bush hog) single blade? My owners manual says the max cutting width should only be 48in?? How about a rotary tiller again the manual says the max should be 50inch but the brochure I got says it can handle 60in same with the rotary cutter?? Have not checked with the dealer yet...just can't wait.
