I have a TC45D with the factory grill guard, and just had to add the (expensive!) bracket that allows 5 weights on it instead of 2, so that I could use my 6' Brush Hog. I also am mowing multi flora roses that haven't been cut in 10-15 years....some of it I back into simply to protect the front end of the tractor, and to discourage getting holes in my R4's. The guard seems like a very good unit, but I too wish I had a little more front end protection...if I had the FEL (hopefully soon!), I would leave it on while brush hogging simply for the weight and front end protection.

Gravel road grading with my 2210 and a rear blade produced a very bumpy road. The front of the tractor goes up and the blade goes down. My answer was to make an angle iron square (4 foot) with a steel mesh grate in side. I drag this rig from the tractor hitch about 8 feet back and use two chains attached to the Imatch hook to lift the front edge of the grate just enough to empty the gravel build up at each end of the driveway. The result was great. One pass on each side with the blade angled to trim the edges and my road drains well and is smooth as gravel will ever be.

Art, I had a receipt and they took it all in at the DMV office and issued a registration when I purchased the boat - taxed me on the amount of the receipt. 6 months later they do a computer run and find that the amount on the receipt is significantly less than fair market value. Then they send you a letter stating that they already contacted the seller, they want your cancelled checks, they will contact your insurance company if necessary to determine value, etc. Then a second letter comes stating that the seller told them the vehicle was sold for more than the receipt indicated. They offer you a choice -a) pay up with penalties included, or b) offer some explanation which they may or may not accept.

This is exactly the same question I have. I'm in the market for a new Kubota and while the BX23 is very attractive I'm concened about how it'll do in the rocky soils of New England. Not only am in interested in digging 5-6 foot deep trenches, but I also need it to be able to scrape off the tio 4 inches of top soil around our property (lead abatement).

How do people think the loader will do for scraping off top soil?

Having an ajustable top hook is an advantage if you don't want to modify older implements. Granted it does'nt fix all but gives you a few more options. Getting off the tractor to change one hookup is still alot better than unhooking all the linkage.

I'm confused-my AC 620 (which I sold for a JD 4200) was a hydrostatic drive. The "clutch" you mention-if you mean the dual belt idler setting of the spring, it should be 10-7/8" (refer to the manual for location).
Check the carb settings and VERY important-check the point box. It was my experience that due to it's aluminum construction, it would distort when hot, allowing it to move and throw the timing off. Good Luck!

The CK 20 is a stout little crittter.

The wheelbase numbers will help the ride in the woods. I have had 55, 59 and now 65 inch wheelbase tractors. The 65 incher is by far the best ride on rough ground.

I think Kubota is making reference to one of their own products that they consider ideal for your tractor.

A B7800 is capable of lifting way more than 550 pounds, on either end.

I'm in the market right now for a tractor and have been looking hard at the DK65. I'll sure be interested in seeing how this problem comes out. Does anyone have additional information on the DK65? Been looking at Case and New Holland and just found out they're the same. Not that impressed with either. Priced "Green"--WOW! Looking at Kubota this weekend, but still like what I see in Kioti

For the question and the answers given here to a degree they are right and yet wrong. There is only one testing that might give back only part of the answer. Many of the farm tractors today are again introducing hydro's because of the ability to consistantly drive a machine at it's optimum pto speed as well as desired ground speed. The only place a hydro hurts and with the additional ranges being installed in tractors that difference is shrinking for pulling heavy ground engaging attachments. That said the hydro's still rule for being able to start larger loads then a gear drive tractor.

Took your advise and rotated the bucket, went through every inch of the center cylinder and there definately is no fitting on the bottom center pin. The outside bucket pin fittings are there and rotating the bucket made it a little easier to access them. The dealer is just down the street so I'm going to seem him later.

A relative of mine has a 20yr old L2250 with 21PTO HP. The BX23 and BX2230 have 16.7, about 20% less. The L2250 runs a 60" bushhog through 4' tall brush without any power issues. Since PTO torque requirements for rotary cutters are proportional to blade length, a 48" cutter is roughly matched to the PTO power on a BX23 or BX2230. I would be more concerned with overhung load (weight) than PTO power. If bogging down becomes a problem, just slow down your forward speed or take a smaller "bite". I agree however, a 42" would perform better. I've even seen cutters down to 36" if you had to go through really thick stuff or needed to pass through tight spaces.

I agree with Yooper. I have a 1998 CC 7305 and had the same problem. Turned out the pivot points in the linkage had gotten pretty sticky. Mine sits outside for much of the summer and I assume that it rusted/gummed up. Nothing a little lubricating oil and working the linkages back and forth for a bit didn't fix!

Petushed - i just paid 19,400 for my 3130. after owning deere for 5 years & having my hours on a 4310 loaner, I like the wider stance & higher siting for a better view, compparing the 3130 to the 4310.

Wallac: I apoligize for not responding to your thread I did get thru to Kioti USA and have since had my problems with the hydraulics taken care of along with the front PTO questions. I'm not able to buy a backhoe now but I appreciate the offer. Thanks again for the follow up.
