Hi Mark,<br>double check your pto speed on your tractor. most garden tractors w/13 or 21 spline are not 540 rpm. the usally run at a higher speed Jim

The brake control unit goes in the towing vehicle. The one I remember hooked into the vehicle hydraulic brake line and mounted under the steering wheel. The unit also required +12 volts and output a variable voltage depending on how much you pressed the vehicle brakes. The output voltage and ground are the two lines that you hook to your trailer. You should also hook up the tail lights. If you don't know what you are doing, I strongly suggest that you hire someone who does. As I said before, things may have changed a lot since the last time I looked at electric brakes. It was probably 25 years ago. Maybe someone else on the board can give you more recent advice.

Thanks for the response. My 855 has a subframe for a hoe.� I'd prefer that over a hitch mount unit. Can the B600 be frame mounted like the JD model 7?� Is it powered from the tractor hydraulics or PTO?

Chip;<br> By all means, go for the 955. Much more hp both engine and pto. The JD 55 sieres were made to handle a hoe with sub-frame. Also the 955 was a 1-owner machine and more than likely better used than the rental. I have a 755 and have found it to be a hard working machine.<br>David

However, I must say, My skid steer used to start without the glow plugs when I bought it (500 hrs.) now with 1600 hrs. I must use the glow plugs, but I dont plug in the block heater. Maybe I should start using the block heater.??..

I was quoted a price of $18,000 for a new TC29 4WD with loader and box scraper(Land Pride brand box). Does this seem about right? How has the reliability been on these machines?

I bought a 12,000 watt pto Gen. that I power with my JD 750, which runs fine up to about 9,000/10,000 watts. I chose pto because: 1. Mine is on a trailer and easy to hook up even for my wife. 2. I didn't want another engine to maintain. 3. I have a tank for diesel fuel which always has 50 to 100 gals. 4. I have elec. heat and can use this to partly heat the house.
