The shift lever is on the left side of the clutch housing. If it does not move the FWD in & out , you may have a bad shift fork or internal lever. I have manuals & parts for the YM195.

Just to let everyone know I did talk with the Product Manager for the B and BX series Kubota tractors today. He said he asked his engineers to look at putting together a pictorial of the best way to take the bagger on and off. He said he hopes to have a prototype document to me by next week.

We are in year seven of a regional drought. We had a dust storm two days ago, so intense the DOT shut down several highways.

My well is still producing 15 GPM..... some of my neighbors are not so lucky.

Thanks :) I keep reading about guys who put zillions of miles on their vehicles and never have any trouble. I wanna be one of those guys! It's not that they have let us down a lot, it's just that lots of things on them have broken and things that are broken drive me nuts. I never expect to find the holy grail of auto manufacturers, but keep hoping for better :)

Hi, how do i get in touch with him. This tractor is not a gray market, but i do have a Mitsibushi dozer, BD2D that is gray market and it needs a starter too.

Tom... I am still trying to sort out this HST thing with my 4115. If the nose is pointing down about 45 degrees (like backing out of the hole I dug to remove my fuel oil tank) sometimes it just will not "go". So far it has only happened with the B/H attached.

The HST sounds like it is popping the relief valve and if I push the issue the engine dies. I have to jiggle with various throttle settings fast/med/slow to get the the wheels to turn.

Re-reading what I just wrote, it does not sound like oil starvation, does it?

The other bit of info is that I have trouble getting the wheels to spin (like when doing loader work.. pushing into the pile), especially in 4wd.

I could get them to spin with the original R-4s, but not with these big radials on the rear. Maybe I have too much rubber on the ground. Maybe my traction is matched ot my horsepower?

What thinketh thou?

Yogi: I have found that many rakes and grader blades are made as Cat 1/2 which means they are trying to make a universal fit. The problem is that they are too wide across the pins for many Cat 1 hitches.<br>

I'm guessing that your lift arms are spread about 28 inches when hooked to your rake. You need to get that down closer to 24 inches. Also be very careful of the height of the top link hole on the rake. If it is more than 15 inches or so you are risking a bent top link(been there twice).<br>

If you can reverse the lift pins so they point inward(??) and still have the clearance you need to attach the 3 point lift arms, this will give you a few more inches of clearance.<br>

If not it's time to trade back or spend a lot of time or money cutting and welding.

I read the operators manual and it said that this is a "self bleeding" system. not sure what that really means. While poking around, and following the fuel lines,I noticed an oil filler cap at what I think is the injector pump. I opened the cap and noticed that there was no oil in this sump. I took my dipstick and went as far as I could into this thing and it showed what I would think to be virtually empty. I cranked it and saw that the gear inside this oil sump was spining... So, I'm guessing that this could have something to do with the problem. I plan on getting the proper oil for it today at the JD dealer here and see if I can talk to a mechanic re:this. will kepp you posted. Also, I ordered the "repair" book for the 1070..

Howzit Pacesetter, I've got near the same question about the L 4630. I've been looking at the 3830 w/ 723 loader & see that the 4630 w/853 loader can scoop down nearly 30% deeper on each pass (soil permitting !) and has anothe 500 lb lift capacity. I haven't operated that tractor yet, but for a seemingly small increase ($3,000) in cost I can get quite a bit more tracktor. The weight added is also very small. About 220 lbs. I have 10 acres & will be moving a lot of dirt for a few years to redistribute the levels & then end up with a 4 acre pond & 5 acres of grass. I intend to swap out the Indust tires with turf when I'm ready to mow instead of primary earth moving tasks. Also was thinking of adding a stump grinder to it later for possible revenue getter. Your thoughts ?

There probably is no 'best' since it depends on a bunch of things. Dealers are pretty good at matching equipment they are familiar with to customer's needs.

Any blower should cover the rear tire tracks and the tractor should have pto hp within the blower's recommended range. Front blowers are expensive. They also need a mid-pto and replace a loader. Loaders also are useful for snow removal. Front blowers are most useful when there's a lot of clearing to do. They're easier on teh neck and can be driven faster in light snows. Rear or front, the more expensive blowers usually are more rugged, have better skid-shoes and cupped fan blades that throw the snow further then ordinary blades. Hydraulic chute rotation is desirable.

Greetings from The USA. I put a 4 way bucket on my JD 430 loader last winter and now since spring have just got to using it on a regular basis. Yes your dealer is right, you won't believe the tings you can do with it. I've also got a #48 Deere backhoe on the same tractor (4310), it's probably the neatest combination I've ever had, dig it out with the hoe, then grab it up with the 4 way and carry it away, brush, rocks, tree stumps, junk, or whatever. Like any machine it has it's limits, it won't keep up with a fullsize commercial machine, but with you being retired and me sort of retired we're not supposed to have to keep up with the rest of the world anymore. A few years ago I by chance was on a tour of the John Deere' Waterloo, Iowa tractor assembly plant and got included with a group of farmers from Australia, we must have talked for a couple of hours after the tour, super nice folks. A fair bit of Mark's price estimate is likely for a rear hydraulic outlet. Rear valve controlled and PB outlets are useful for all sorts of implements other than a box scraper. I use my single valve controlled rear outlet with a box scraper, snow-blower and forklift. I need two for the forklift and have to steal one from the loader. With a second one I could add side tilt to the 3ph as well. I also use the valve-controlled outlet for a backhoe but a PB hookup would be better.

I found that blade angle is almost everything in controlling the action of a scraper. Shortening the link increases the cut when going forward and decreases it in reverse. I lengthen the link if I break traction rather than raise the 3ph. It's more precise and I never overdo it and dump the load. I adjust the rate of cut frequently. When cutting a grade, the link can be lengthened to stop the cutting so loads can be dragged for spreading. Lengthening it more spreads a load. All these operations can be done without stopping, getting off the tractor and guessing how much adjustment is needed.

After reading this thread, I disagree with the sucks to be you, its out of warranty, and suspect abuse approach here as well. It could be a case of trolling as Boomer Bummer has yet to give much of any detailed info. just the initial post. I for one would be VERY interested in what was being done with the tractor when it broke? Could very well be a case of abuse but I have not heard the owner's side of it.

Yeah Ken, I think the ISO stuff is a lot of eye wash. Sounds good and looks good of performance reviews ehh???;o)

I use a 72" MMM. If you plan to go with an RFM get the 272. The 60" MMM is the only option with the 790 but should perform just fine. I would prefer the MMM. They cost a good big more but make a more compact package and are easier to cut with plus no watching behind you. Don't forget to consider rolling up several implements/attachments in the purchase price as it will be much easier to finance them that way and pay the cost over time as well as gives you some bargaining power over the entire package.

I just purchased a Kioti CK-20 HST. It does have a clutch pedal. You need to have the clutch pedal pushed down to start the tractor and to shift from Hi to Lo or Lo to Hi ranges, just like mentioned above. One other thing though, the clutch pedal has a hook that you can lock the pedal in the "down" position - (disengaged), if you will not be using your tractor for a few months. This prevents the clutch disc from rusting to the clutch plate thus making for an interesting start on the next time you want to use your tractor. It has been known that tractors with clutches, no matter who made them, can have this occur if the tractor is stored for several months without being used. Whos would ever drem of storing a tractor like that for several months without using it. I try to find things to do with mine all the time, even driving around the back yard.
