What is the thinking behind the comment of a block heater making the engine last longer? I'm not disagreeing, I just don't know and since I have two diesels and never use the heaters, I am wondering if I have been doing harm??

Steve,<br>I just sold my 750 with 1600 hours. It ran the same as the day it was new and I expected to run it well into the 3000 hour range with no trouble. I found a 750 with 60 hours on it and just couldn't turn it down. I got 6500.00 for it with a 5' bush hog. (It took only days to sell at that price)

I need some help from the experts. I have a 855, purchased for residential use. I would like to add a front loader, I think the 70A is the applicable JD implement. Question, is this model still available new? Finding a used one seems impossible. One dealer said that there is a kit to retro the new 4000 loaders. Is one better than the other for me? How do you feel about aftermarket products? <br>Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can provide.

Bill you can buy the front blade package with power angle for 2527 retail they do work well. Your loader price is 2700 retail and yes the loaders are nice but limiting on a tractor with out power steering.

I own a commercial snow removal company an we use JD lawn and garden tractors to remove snow off of side walks. We started out using chains but soon found out that they can be a real headache.The problem is that they still spin and can cause damage to pavement,they are bumpy and if a cross piece comes loose it can scrath up your tractor. Also chains wear and eventually break and a tractor with chains on one side is almost as bad as not having them at all. What we started using were bar tires with some weight on the tractor. The tires seem to hold up well and in reality do not cost much more considering the number of chains you will wear out. If you deside to use bar tire make sure you price around , the price differnce can be pretty healthy. Good luck and remember YA GOTTA LOVE THE SNOW!!!!!

Breck: Does the tractor have a mid PTO? ($1000 option) I just purchased a 4400 synchreverser with: 4WD,Mid PTO,R3's,Folding ROPS and Dual SCV for $16,000.<br>The loader quote you have is good! I was quoted $3125 installed. What size bucket? 60

Well, thanks for the clarification on front drive train vs front wheel/axle load. I suppose that it is possible to load the bucket in such a way that the rear wheels leave the ground! And this would surely put a stress on the front drive system in 4wd. Of course you would need to be in 4wd at the time or you would find yourself in

I've finally got around to looking at this entire thread, and noticed that Art brought up the point that reduced flexure of the tires was the reason for decreased machine life with liquid fill. I'm not sure that I agree, but expressed as he did it is certainly a point worth pondering...I do agree that tractors get most of their soft ride from using the low air pressure and soft tire combo as the suspension spring....and that this would benefit life on things like wheel bearings (and people!)
Yes, 800 total pounds is a lot of advantage...BTW, how do you like the 1030? I've been an advocate of MF tractors for years, and always looking to collect anecdotes on them.`

Hi R. Kelley;<br> I have a 1990 755 with 690 hrs., 4wd & turfs. If I were going to sell it today (w/o) any of the attachments, loader mower etc. I would ask about $9500. It is in good condition and has been kept inside a garage. Paint is faded a bit but not much. Paint is missing on foot treads. Hours mean more on a tractor than year. 2200 hrs is about 1/4 the life of the engine, depending upon quality of maintenance and use.<br>David

I just bought a used SD 1540 this summer with 594 hours for 2750$ It is a grey mkt tractor but I love it so far. Have to turn my implement lower 3-pt pins to the inside because lift arms can't swing out far enough because of narrow rear end. Check that on the 1840. Can get parts at a place in Greensburg IN called Lowes Tractor and Eqpt. They have a web page. I love my machine. Have a bush hog loader to mount yet, but use a 4' bush hog and 5' finish mower. The dash is almost identical to the older New Holland/Fords.

I ordered my 4400 HST the last week of April and it arrived at the dealer on August 19th. I ordered a front blade at the same time and it has still not arrived however. The tractor, loader and snowblower all were delivered for Labor Day playing. So far so good. I am still learning the best way of attaching everything since my yard is not exactly level! Only complaint has been the clouding instrument panel. Also I haven't figured out the best way of attaching the PTO shaft to the snowblower. It is in a low, diffiuclt space for this guys poor shoulders and arms to get at.

I am looking for some info/advice. I have a B7200DT with a 3pt rating of ~400lbs according to manual. I want to get pallet forks and use it to move some weights in the 600 lb range. My question is what will happen if I go over the 3pt limit in the manual? 400lbs seems way low to me for cat 1 3pt, especially compared to the newer B1700 specs of ~1000lbs. Is this a limit in the hydraulics/arms or just a Kubota safety limit? I have a loader (1640A) on it and I was planning on counter balancing the weight with something in the bucket. <br>Would I be better off getting a set of forks to replace the bucket for the loader? The loader is rated at 600lb max lift. Anyone know of a source for that.
