I'd say 95% of warranty issues are left up to the dealer's discretion. I really think that percent is a modest one.

Caselton: thanks for the help Ms.Ingram has her stuff together and this whole business with the PTO and no contact is being handled now. Vince appreciate your input as well the dealer did get the info from Kioti but had health problems and forgot about it by the time he got back to work. I didn't ask but I'll bet his ears were burning also. Any way if what the service tech said holds up the set up I had on my Kubota may fit this tractor. Kioti has the sleeve etc. and the warranty remains in effect the guy said "the front PTO is fully functional" so I'll use it.

DRankin, If you have any thoughts on the JD4115 w/ 410 FEL and the 46 BH, I would sure appreciate them. (My JD dealer had recommended the 4110, but I saw that they had the 46 BH on a 4115) Specific question is if the subframe on the JD is better for the 46 BH compared to the BT600 on the Kubota BX 23.

Exactly clutch for high /low shifting and PTO engage and it is something to hold down while starting (start clutch switch)

Congratulations on your new tractor. I am 95% certain that I will be ordering a BX23 tomorrow here in Northern Virginia, but without the MMM. My quote was higher than yours -- $15,700 -- but I feel that the price is fair for this area. Are you getting any added implements or accessories beyond the FEL and the BH in the $14,900 deal?<br>

You guys are great. All the advice is very helpful. I have priced out a new JD 4115 and am suffering from a bit of sticker shock, but the dealer was very helpful. I passed on the 455, based on some research and the advice y'all had. Next I plan to compare the comparable Kubota to the JD4115 (which Kubota would be comparable?) and look at some used models on line, etc. The 4100 idea sounds good and I'll check out the 790 as well.

If you don't care what it looks like then a brush cutter would be fine. Look at tsc(tractor supply) they are going to be the cheapest place to by one. If you want something a little nicer look at woods or bush hog. Any tractor dealer will have a brush cutter or be able to get one for you in a few days.

murf, Thats sheetpile. Ive got 400' of it along the river at our marina. It was really expensive when it was done [1975]$200/ft., and now is about $1000/ft.Thats a real permanent solution, but as was stated, not very pretty in a residential setting.Im in a situation where what ever I do only has to look good for 15yrs topps,and by then I wont worry about it anyway,my kid can!

The way it was explaned to me was that the high compression and related harmonics present in a diesel cause bubbles to form on the cyl walls.When these bubbles get large enough,they collapse,and the erosion that is caused by this collapse is "cavitation. The additives, which are not present in any off the shelf af,form a sacrificial barrier that prevents the iron from being eroded.The guy that explained it was a teacher at Cummins service school.I have seen 7.3 Ford Navistars with perforated cyls, and both of the JD diesel fork lifts I have at the marina had perforated liners. We bought them used and in 3 years got a wake-up call regarding the former owners maintence proceedures.
