Well I guess I would need some more information before I could recomnend action.

These type of problems can be difficult to find. A friend has a GM truck with a Duramax and 6 speed. The transmission keeps loosing the front bearing. It is on the third round and as it is 4x it costs a lot to repair. He is fighting with GM now.

Did they replace the whole engine both times or did they just replace the block and rebuild with the non broken parts? Is it gear or hydro?

yeah i hear you im 23 years old by the time i get to "retierment age" they will have raised it to 80 years old and this 401k is a bunch of crap too. you pay in all that money what if the bottom foalls out of the stock market again and we go back in to the depretion area again well there goes all your money. And dont even get me started an how much i have to pay for health insurance that tries to denie every claim that i put in and make me have to pay my lawyer $150 a pop just to send them a letter.

you should be able to get a tooth bar right from you dealer also ask them about b-hoe bucket options.

I got the same exact canned response from JD when asking the same question. I was surprised since there were people on this web site that said they had access to that information.

With all due respect, Patrick made his point four Lenar 274's have died a sudden death, including splitting in half. I have owned and worked on tractors since 1972 and have never had or heard of such a fiasco. Presently own a Jinma 304, assembled from a crate, and love it. Sometimes you don't get what you paid for and in this instance Patrick didn't.

every one has to remember that a warrenty is a warrenty wether it is a car or a tractor when its over that is it that is also why there are extended warrenties avalible. As the guy that works on both new holland and kubota there are draw back to each. heres one example of kubota look where the stearing linkage is in front of the axle one for nh is they do not offer a cab on any compacts, YET though it is coming. one plus for kubota is that they make every drive line componet them selves. one for nh is they are the lowest in price for most other compareable tractors of the big three. it is al in prefference.

i misrepresented my self earlyer the price diff. between the tc 35 and the 40 is about $1800, and the 40 to 45 is about $1300 sorry for any confusion. as i said before im a mechanic not a salesman

I got a 51" new metero on my b7500. It handles it pretty well in heavy snow. I wouldn't go under 51" (accutal width of rear tires) and not over 54" if you get mild to heavy wet snow. Dry powder type i would get a 60".

Let me preface this right up front as being half a$$. ;o) If you are looking at a $1400 repair bill, you could try draining the oil from the pan. Follow up by flushing thr residue oil and crud out the pan by dumping a few gallons of kerosene through the engine with the drain pan plug removed. Let sit over night. Wire wheel and clean up oil pan removing ALL rust and loose paint. Take inventory of rusted through or questionable areas. Clean them ABSOLUTELY clean with spray type brake cleaning solvent or laquier thinner. Let dry and ensure ABSOLUTELY NO oil seepage. Sand and rough up areas to repair in order to give the expoxy a goo bonding surface and reclean again with solvent. Pick your poison as to which brand/type of expoxy but JB Weld seems to come up more than others. Apply liberally and uniformly to repair areas and let cure up overnight. Sand down and smooth up. Primer the oil pan with a good automotive type primer paint and repaint with your choice of color of a good quality spray paint. This repair could last the life time of the truck or poop out next week. For $1400, I would sure give it a try. Typically, the rust is all on the outside of the pan as the inside remains coated in engine oil. If you do a good clean up, repair, and paint job; it should hold up. Just keep a close eye on it. The proper repair would be to replace the pan but if the truck is old and not worth putting the $1400 into; this half a$$ repair might see you through. I am sure I will hear some grief over this ;o) but if it is a clunker, what the heck. I have read where JB Weld repairs on cracked engine blocks held up for many years and some permanently. Definitely worth a try!

I don't think you'll be 'easily' digging into compacted shale/dirt piles. I have a L3130HST w/723 and heavy duty 72" bucket (no toothbar). Old piles with solid materials mixed in (rocks, stones, short roots&wood) require breaking down the pile so the material is loose. Even then you may not always get a 'full rounded bucket'. On freshly dumped 3" screened fill it works great. CUTS do have some limitations. You don't want the lighter but bigger 'materials bucket'. I recommend setting your rear wheels to the widest listed in your manual and maximum rear ballast. My info shows L3130 with R4's 57.7 inches, so you would need a 72" bucket to get a 'full width' of tractor cut. <br>
Watch your load, with a full bucket it is easy to have material fall over the backside of the bucket if raised too high at full rollback, especially if the working area is at all uneven. Go slowly, your technique wiil improve and you'll be suprised how much material you can move with a 3130. <br>
As for brush cutting, my dealer recommended the 60" medium-duty BushHog or Woods BrushBull, at approx. $1175.<br>

Last weekend I had to take my TC33 to get my new hoe installed, a trip of about 120 miles. Normally this would be no problem since I have a new F250 and a trailer. When I told my wife I was going (to my suprize) she said she thought It would be a nice ride and wanteed to go as well as bring the children. I can't fit 4 of us in my pick-up so I had to use my wifes 03 Expedition. I was a little concerned because the weight would be over 7000lbs and the new Expedition was a little smaller than her previous 2000 model, but this thing was awesome I could not even tell I was pulling anything. I think it even towed better than the F250. This is her third expedition 97,00,03 and this is definately better than the previous two. Ford got it right this time.

I have a 6x4 diesel and recently I noticed that my headlights and tipping bed stopped working. The engine started and run fine but, I was unable to check the engine as I cant lift the bed. The battery ran down afterwards so I do believe that there is something wrong with the alternator. Does anyone know how to lift the bed without the electric lift?<br>

um i would leave the oil in and then change it AFTER storage, since condensation, etc. will occur while it sits so you will slightly contaminate your brand new oil for nothing. unless of course you plan on doing both changes, in that case go for it.<br>

ps break-in oil is designed to allow things to wear in properly when new/rebuilt as nowadays has additives to facilitate this, where as after break-in of course we want as little wear as possible which is what regular oil is designed for. i believe it is usually thinner as well, i think years ago 10w was a common break-in oil.

We're a bit behind you guys. Some snow still in the yard and enough in the bush to make walking difficult. Well, it won't be long. We had our first shirtsleeves day yesterday and our first thunder storm right now. Birds are on track and soon the frogs will start sounding like a sci-fi sound track.

First thing though is for the ground to thaw and dry enough to work the compost pit. Our neighbour made a haystack on top of his well head to keep it from freezing and I'd sure like to add it to the compost.
