Looking for information from anyone on any problems with the Boomer 1630. I have gone threw 2 motors (123hrs on first, 175hrs on next) and my boomer is dead. Total....304 hours!!! Rod went through block on both occassions due to faulty torgue on cap nuts, in one cylinder. Tractor is out of warranty now, and I am dealing with "customer service". Their ad says the Boomer can blast through anything???? Just its own block so far for me.<br>
Please email me with any information, no matter how small. I was one of the first to own one in Manitoba...and I want to prevent anyone else from making this mistake.

I'm starting research on 30-35HP model tractors. From what I observed so far, some tractors use a 4 point mount for the backhoe and some use the 3 point hitch. In addtion, some models require subframe kits. Can someone easily explain the differences between these options and the advantages/disadvantages?<br>

I have a 1999 JD790 & the quick detach loader was poorly engineered. JD discovered this & redesigned it for 2000. Well, my loader would literally "pop" off any any given time if i had a load of gravel or some type of material in it if I drove over a slight bump while carrying the load. Well it did this to me several times, which damaged my hood & side panels not to mention it took me over an hour to remount it each time after this would happen. When I notified JD, They didnt want to hear about it. My dealer went to baddle for me & I had to attend a meeting with a big wig from JD. The big wig had an arrogant attitude & I had to argue for them to split the cost of damage with me!! In my opinion, They should have updated my tractor with the redesigned loader.When i go to get a bigger tractor in a few years, It will be a NH. I vote NH!!!

Well, I can partially answer some of your questions.<br>

Top-N-Tilt consists of two additional hydraulic cylinders added to your 3-point hitch. One cylinder replaces the top link (TOP) and is used to adjust the top link length on the fly. The other is mounted on one side (TILT) and is used to tilt implements right to left. Without top and tilt you may have to get off the tractor and manually make those adjustments. With top and tilt you just flick some controls to adjust on the fly. It's great for use with a box scraper or rear blade. You can also just get a hydraulic top link and not the tilt portion of the setup. Top and tilt requires a couple of rear remote circuits. Cost? I don't know on Kubota, but it could add $1500 to the cost. I think it's worth it if you plan on doing any grading type of work. In addition to the cylinders they'd have to add the remote circuits, a couple of extra SCV's, and maybe a diverter valve depending on how it's set up.

heres a website with them,they only have a 60 right now it look like. the 35 does not have power steering i would go at least with the 45. have you looked at john deer 5102? was quoted 12,900 on a new one, just to large for me went L3830 hst instead.

I prefer the add on weights as they can be removed if not needed. On the big farm tractors you can be cosiderably lighter with radial tires and still have about the same traction! It is a major factor to us to sell a tractor lighter for overall performance and longevity.

I have both available only the NH is in red. My preference for most all is with the Kubota. The NH has some different creature comforts that some perfer but the Kubota is the benchmark for all for reliability.

How'd the boys do on the Valve for you? The Ballast box sells for 160 and will hold all that you should need but it still won't be like the backhoe!

I had been hearing that the NH and the JD had some different applied HP's/ Kind of like a your foot is a size eight in one brand shoe and a 9 in the other brand shoe. The way that it sounds in all these posts is that that is totally not the case.

Even on flat ground, a torque over is always a danger. A toque over brings the front of the tractor over the back, or a back flip. I metioned in a different discussion about the 8N on top of my neighor a couple years ago. The tractor torqued over on him from towing with a three point attachment. If he would have had a ROPS, he probably wouldn't have spent a week in the hospital with a calapsed lung and broken ribs, he was lucky.

I found that the left brake on our 1510D was not operating as well as the right. Seems like some doofus ("now whoo would that be?" - my better half asks) forgot and left the brake hand lever engaged.

Anyway - the hardest part was getting the fender out of the way. After that there was a pin holding the shaft to the brake shoe eccentric and 4 bolts holding the plate in.

I popped out the brake shoes, cleaned everything up and reassembled. The whole thing took maybe a hour.

There is a tool box under the drivers seat. It isn't much, but it comes in handy for carrying around those emergency necessities.

The operators manual lists the following for daily checks, most of them are pretty obvious:

Check engine oil
Check transmission oil level. This is the yellow dip stick under the seat. I added a few pints of oil after about 20hrs.
Check coolant level
Check grille and radiator screen. There is a debris screen in front and under the radiator. Check them both.
Check evacuator valve on the air cleaner. There is a knob to turn on the bottom of the air cleaner chamber that empties debris from the chamber. Keep it clean.
The rest of the items are basic, most of them previously mentioned, loose bolts, lights,indicators, etc.
Also on the FEL, all pivot points should be greased every 10 hrs.
The only point to greese is the fitting on the speen control pedal.

As far as engine rpms, the performance curve for that engine shows peak torque right around 2000rpms. This is where you should be running the engine during break-in unless you really need rpms for activities such as mowing, where you need the blade speed. You should not run at any rpm for extended periods of time during break-in.

Hope you get your manual soon. 50hrs is the first recommended filter and fluid change. The manual is pretty detailed in the maintenance section. I agree with you opinion of the tractor. Besides that 1/4" valve, it's been a lot of fun to operate.

speaking of fmm nh has one that you can get a cab for and has 4wd options snow blower broom and blade. up to 35 hp but pretty expensive. base price 16,500 all the way up to 35,000 now that is an OUCH

This was my first week back to the aerospace grind after my surgery, I haven't done any landscaping yet and the customers are ringing the phone way too frequently. After the rain stopped yesterday, we had some sun. Today, we had 70 degrees and sun. Hi Billy, very interesting, but more common than you might think. For some reason, maybe its because when we get really old, what was once important to us loses its value. My Grandfather, the dairy farmer, was a Deere man from the word go. He had a water cooled horizontal magneto sparked Deere circular saw that he used mostly to cut up logs. The blade was turned by a flat belt, the engine really lived up to the "Johnny Popper" name. He loved it, until chain saws made their arrival, then the once often used saw went behind the barn - for thirty years. During that time, the solid steel wheels rusted where they touched the ground, trees grew through the wooden frame, which rotted, and around the engine. The whole thing sat neglected until he "discovered" it in his very old age, about $300 and more than a year later we restored to its past glory. Regardless, I never got over the way the trees grew through and around the entire machine! Thanks for the photo, it sparked fond memories.

There was an article that was brought up awhile back dealing with some vehicles that synthetic was so slick it didn't allow the rings to seat properly. I can't remember where I read it though. It recommended not using it until the engine was broke in.

If you have the Chinese oil in it I would change it. I changed mine at 25 and after seeing it I would have changed it immediately if I had known. That was true for the transmission and hydraulic fluid also.
