Chip11 Welcome Me thinks if you have some good fabrication skills you could do it. Go look see how JD does it, take a couple of pictures and have at it.

JD may also have a ready built retro fit for that style.

I can not say wether the fabrication would be as solid as it needs to be. But I would think if you boxed each side of the cuts and welded hinges on the box material you should have some reasonable amount of protection.

thanks for the information. Haven't decided yet if I want the tractor or not. 15 h.p. isn't much, but I realize the gearing on it will help and for what I'm wanting to use it for it should work fine. I guess my biggest concern is the 2 cyl. engine, and if I can get parts for it or not. At one time I had a Kubota B7200HST and that tractor was a real dream........still disgusts me that I sold it!

Beagle, I have never seen any broken nor any problems from "properly" set-up tractors. I say that as a fellow had a Woods 7500 in a while back on a B-2400 and he was having axle problems which was understandable as it should have been a 6' backhoe on that model. The good part of the lighter weight is the ability to add the ballast where it is needed. To many tractors are to heavy to perform well under all conditions. It is nice to know that you are adding to the life of the tractor by not having it built to heavy and reducing the drivetrain life as well as the engine every time you use it. Because of the hills in oour area many of the farm tractors have been made to heavy and they are very sluggish to operate and get up to speed. Since the radar guns have become more common on the farm tractors we are finding the trend is to go lighter. For the believe it or not even tire life has nearly doubled.

The extra attachments that you have are the key here. It doesn't sound to far out as far as price. We have one with just a belly mower that is a 97 with about the same hours for 6500.

You have left a lot to figure out! They go from 30 to 50 horsepower with even a air conditioned cab as a option as well as the tires that will make a difference.

i also have a dk35,i love the tractor.primarily for my landscape busines,i have minor complaints.4x4 lever is very stiff to disengage,appears to have a leak in the bell housing area. kl 1450 loader no problems. handles 6' boxblade with ease.

swivel seat is about $400 extra,,it has a 30 degree swivel and is suspension,,well worth the money if you are using anything on 3 point hitch to watch

By the way, the sore shoulder and neck is a reality with the joystick by the stearing wheel. Don't know if Deere's location completely solves this, but you get a stiff neck from the arm position on the upper joystick. You will find both manufacturers have their strong points, I am very happy with my Kubota.

There seems to be some confusion about the hookup for a RFM. I run my Landpride with the lower link antisway chains run tight so it can't move side to side. The top link is hooked to a short swinging link, 6-8", at the top of the mower frame allowing the RFM to follow the ground contours. The Kubota RFM that I had previously had an elongated slot for the top link hitch pin to slide in. I believe that all RFM have some mechanism to allow that kind of motion.
