jbs, what optima battery did you install? The 4310 is a group 22NF which optima doesn't make, and I didn't find one that would fit.

timgren- Thanks for the HP testimony, I have heard it said that you can always use a bigger tractor. You are right on track with the application though, stumps and stone. I have been told to look at a 31 hp L series, but we're talking a considerable cost to outfit it with FEL, box blade and eventually a belly mower. I am obviously going to have to leave town to get a decent price.

Love bikes myself and hopefully some might pick up on the screen name :) My pictures have my bikes displayed with some action shots...Love them as much as my tractors, but not nearly as much as my wife....pssssst - she was standing over me while I wrote that :)

I agree that the pedals next to each other is a more comfortable set up. Just my 2cents on why it is.Has anybody
changed their Kubota set up? If so, I would like to see it.

if you get a good brand ie woods or bush hog they have copensatedfor the up and down movement by making the top link braket "notched" out to allow for more movement but a chain would work as well

Well, here is what we use for heavy rigging calculations, but these are based on experience and not necessarily text book numbers:

pnuematic tires on gravel .15 - .25
pnuematic tires on sandy soil .25 - .4
pnuematic tires on soft soils .35 - .5

None of these calculations take into account inertial load, and increases for settled conditions from storage. This could add another 25%. Always figure a factor of safety with any calculations.

After reading many other posts and gathering lots of information over the winter, I have decided to purchase either a Kubota 7800 or a 7510 HSD. I am leaning toward the 7510 as it seems it will do everything I need, plus more (and with the money I am not spending on a tractor I have more to spend on implements). What I have been quoted thus far is a 7510 HSD with 302 loader for $12,700 (tractor $9900, loader $2800) and a 7800 with 402 loader for $15,500 (I don't have the breakdown of the tractor and loader handy). The dealer who gave me these prices said that due to the increase in the price of steel, I can expect the price to go up if I have to order a tractor -- he has 1 7510 HST at this price, and 2 or 3 7800s.<br>

$43K for the Tructor will limit its sales considerably! I spent 30K ,and am a proud owner of the Kubota RTV and an L5030 + FEL. I am very pleased to see the many new models of these vehicles since my first Kawasaki mule 7 years ago.
The concept is solid.

Did you get the Kingkutter? I am looking at one too for $770. I think it's 20 20" discs front notched and back discs plain and 3 in' box frame. It's at a "Tractor Supply Company" store. Does it cut like you expect? I have JD1070 so power isn't an issue.<br>
Hoping to go to an auction soon and look at a used Burch disc but I don't know how heavy it is. Will still have to pay probably $450 to 500. Wife has me on a budget!

Just be careful with the pressure. I didn't keep check on my pressures when winter came and the fronts were low. The front tire broke loose from the wheel. The stiff side walls contributed as well but luckily when I noticed it, I wasn't going very fast. It could have messed the tire and or rim up.

Where can I find torque info on the Grand-L series? I looked at the specifications page on the Kubota website but no mention was made re:torque. I'm looking to buy a 3430 with cab, and the next step up (with cab) is a 4630. I just don't know if I can justify the $5000 additional for the jump to the 4630.

We work our fleet pretty hard, even my dealer is rather surprised at how well they hold up.

Neither traction nor aluminum componenets have ever been a problem.
