I ran across a 1983 model International 245 4wd with 400 hours on it. It appears to be in very good condition with faded paint and straight sheetmetal and a strong sounding engine. They are asking $5900 for it. Looking in MachineryLink it appears the price may be a little high but maybe not considering the hours. It also says the engine is made by Mitsubishi and is 21 HP. My questions are: 1) Can it pull a 5ft. rotary cutter or would 4ft. be better 2)Is the 21hp engine or PTO 3)Does anyone know anything good or bad about this model and 5)Does the price sound fair?<br>

I'm looking for a D2650FD Repair and Service manual ,also a lead on any one who sells parts for them. Would also like to know how to correct a shut down problem it keeps running when you shut the throttle down,and shut the key off ( have to ease the clutch to stall her) Note :the throttle linkage is adjusted as far as it can go against the stop

I noticed the L4330 and L4630 have the exact same engine and displacement, yet the L4630 has higher rated horsepower in all categories.<br>

Is this a marketing trick or is there something else different that makes the 4630 capable of producing more power?<br>

I snuck my brother's BSA Lightning out for a ride when I was twelve and have never looked back. Most all my bikes have been Hondas including numerous smaller ones, three 750s over the years, a Sportster, and an older Goldwing (1978) that I still have. This past Thursday I brought home the first new motorcycle I've ever had, a 2004 Honda ST1300. ST for sport tourer. It's got a 120 HP V-4 liquid cooled engine that should do over 150 mph if I ever wanted to go that fast. And that's with the touring bags on the back. :-0<br>

The STs have been more popular in Europe than the US since they came out in 1992. There they are used alot for police vehicles. Like the goldwing they have a reputation for reliability. And the seven year unlimited mileage warranty is nice. That should be good for about 100K miles if my mileage stays the same as the past few years.

Jonathan, unless I'm reading too fast, I don't believe your question about the difference between the two types of rear bleades has been addressed. The grader blade is most usefull for final grading. It lacks the shanks that dig the soil, and doesn't have the ability to move large amounts of soil over long distances. They are nice for snow removal from driveways, and grooming grades and crowns on roads.<br>

Box Blades are more aggressive earth cutters, and can be used for a variety of tasks that require cutting and moving soil. They can level compacted clays and clay/gravel road mixtures, and can be used to cut high areas of a plot and drag the dirt to low areas.

I took delivery on a toothbar for my 790 with 419 FEL just this last week (61" bucket). Got it from Carver Equipment for $335 which included shipping. It is made by WR Long and was shipped direct from the factory. Check out their attached web link.

The toothbar is well made and installs by drilling two 3/4" holes. Took maybe 15 minutes.

The three biggest JD tractors we use at the farm, 8410, 8300, and 7810 have shaft sensors for ground speed plus a doppler gun that calibrates distance, the onboard computer calibraters the two at the rate of something like 200 times a second. The result is true ground speed from the doppler and also the percentage of wheel slip at any given time, acres covered per hour, etc. etc. When we got the 8410 new in either 2000 0r 01 Deere put a gps guidance unit on it for experimental purposes, it did'nt work too well then, but now they have the "Green Star System" that has been perfected enough that when you come to the end of the field to turn around you take the wheel and once you have manualy steered it to more than 180 degrees of the full turn you let go of the wheel and the GPS takes over and guides it to the other end of the field at the exact distance from the last pass that is required. We're not using the GPS yet, but I'm sure my son someday will. Sometime at the Deere dealer pick up a brocure for the 8000 twenty series or the 7000 twenty series, they have even more advanced features than our 10 series in the field of GPS. Frank.

One more on that note is My dad use to stop at the barber shop and pick up a bag or two of Human hair from the days trimmings. He would then put it in Moms old knee high stockings and tie them to the lower branches of our apple and pear trees in the fall. It actually worked well, I think primarily because it was the smell of different people all the time. He refreshed it about once every two weeks. I am sure mixing in the mulch, or spreading around under the flowers would work as well.

Well, with the stock market bouncing around, The wife and I decided to invest in something a little more stable ( for now ) we recently purchase the 3 acre lot next us to before the developer starting building( He had already put in stakes for septic and house location for one of their Spec homes. It has pretty much been a empty field for the last 20 years, being brush hogged once a year. I was a little reluctant to use the MMM to mow if for the first time, But as I do not yet own a Brush cutter. I decided to take it slow and go for it. The field had not been cut since about August of last year. And I have to say the MMM did it's job and then some. Now instead of an overgrown field, it almost look like a yard. I was really surprised when I hit a rock and a piece of metal and when I looked at the blades when I was done there was hardly a mark on them. My old mower blades would have been shot after that. It didn't even really bog down the mover. Now I just have to figure out a way to rake up all the cut grass.
