I aquired a pair of ford 8 lug rims that I need to use however .<br>
1 they have the ford logo stamped on them<br>
2 they have the date 11/20/79<br>
3 they even have the firestone trade mark stamped on them<br>
problem / they have an old set of 8.5/16.5 bias ply on them<br>
IS THERE OR WHERE DO I FIND THE STAMPING TO INDICATE ACTUAL RIM SIZE //THEY MEASURE THE SAME AS THE 16 INCH RIMS I CURENTLY HAVE (8 LUGS/CENTER HOLE/OVERALL RIM DIAMETER) BUT MEASUREING ACTUAL BEAD IS DIFFICULT<br>

OR MAY BE SOME ONE PUT 16.5 TIRES ON A 16 INCH RIM ??????<br>

Well I bought it. L3400/LA463 loader. It will arrive at my house on about Apr 20th, as it is being shipped from Toronto. I purchased the 3ph Stabalizer Kit for $150 while I was there. It was one of the cheaper options, so I figure I could by it now. I don't really know what it is but I bought it anyway (sounded useful). Does anyone have any input on this item? I also found out that it comes with folding ROPS, which isn't stated in there documentation!

I just think those are the best stories. It takes real brass kahuna's to do what some of these guy's have acomplished.

I have owned a Veermer Stump Cutter for some time, Just bought another last year. Has proven to be a well built

that is why it is important to shop around. me personaly i don't care what you are buying i'm there to make you happy as are the salesman and the parts department. AT the dealership i work at if you are not happy when you leave we are not happy either. sound like a corny catch phrase but it is true.

I came across an area where something was buried on our property and dug it up. I started digging up clothes, then boots, then a coleman lantern, then a cookstove and old propane bottle, D-cell batteries, some paint cans and an old telephone. Five trash bags full of stuff. I half expected to dig up a body.<br>

As a follow-up I have not yet connected the second set of batteries for my office 5.3kVA UPS but I have been able to get all 4 conditioned by trickle charging as mentioned above to stop charging at the 2 AMP reading on the scale now when doing a full rate charge by working with them individually using a 12 volt charger. Soon I will use them to build another 48-volt pack that will be connected in parallel with the other 48-volt pack. Below is what a tech from another forum had to say about adding the second 48-volt pack in parallel. Remember all 8 batteries are new, the same brand and same specs and from Wal-Mart. :)

No, the battery charger will not exceed it limits. The added 48 v pack will not cause undue hardship, but will require slightly more than twice the time to charge. "Slightly" due to the added internal resistance of the added batteries. Run time will basically be doubled

Before you add an another set, check the batteries are not excessively "gassing", produced by excessive charging voltage. This should not be an issue due to the circuitry was designed for sealed batteries. Simple remove the cell covers, you should not see gas bubbles, maybe occasional small bubbles are OK, large and numerous bubbles, are not good, in a fully charged battery set. The room these batteries are in should have a small amount of air exchange, all open cell batteries do produce a small amount of hydrogen gas, (from first hand experience, it is explosive). As long as they are not contained in an airtight room they are safe.

Anybody have any experience with one of these 3 point chinese made BH's? I'm looking for a inexpensive backhoe and have seen these on a few sites. I was thinking I would fabricate a sub frame for one being that they are 3-point. They seem to be going for somewhere around the $3000 mark if ordered. I've been researching on building my own from CDP or Cadplans. In parts alone I'm estimating somewhere between $2250 and $2850 depending on the model and features.<br>

Thanks Tom... This is a new problem.. No t line, the pump has an auxillary port for the loader valve....your explaination leadds me to belive it is the laoder valve. I'll remove that and bring to the hydraulic shop.Thanks for the help and I'll let you know the final fix!

I apologise if this message should not be on this forum. I have a John Deere LX178 that I use for mowing. My yard is very rough at this point. The JD blades don't hold up, the ends split. I can't use a bushhog this close to the house and so I must use the 178 to mow with for another year or two until I get the finished lawn put in. Does anyone make and/or sell heavier duty blades that I can put on the LX178? I have not yet taken a blade to the local farm store to check their stock. I guess this is the next step. Thanks for any information.

I recently completed building the CDP mid-600 3pt backhoe. I also reviewed plans for the cad-digger, and built the cad-digger 5" bucket (modified for use with the CDP unit)
- Here are my impressions/reccommendations,FWIW

I went with CDP because the initial cost was cheaper, and I was annoyed that Cad-Plans wanted to charge for the plans even if you buy the parts kit. CDP also had better specs

Cad plans are a little more detailed, but CDP was adequate for my needs - The CDP plans I got with the parts kit are not enough to build from scratch - there are no instructions for making the parts. The CDP parts themselves were great, precision cut, excellent. Shipping and service were fine.

CDP's backhoe is harder to build. Look at the buckets - CDP is rounded and requires bending metal - a real pain. Cad digger is squarer (uglier) but easier to put together/weld.

One big drawback for CDP is they use non-standard cylinders - I had to buy them from CDP.

Not having hydraulic stabilizers is not a problem for me - I raise and lower the whole unit with the 3pt, so the stabilizers dig in fine. For the small projects I do, it works great.

Total cost for me was $2500, including the second bucket.

My reccommendation - if you are building from scratch, go with cad-plans - if you are getting a parts kit, CDP is a good option.

I use it in all my vehicles/equipment.
The top name synthetics are all good stuff.
I've always found it interesting that although many say that there is no difference between dino oil and synthetic the same will say not to use it until the normal "break-in" time is past.
Could that be because synthetic is a superior lube and will not allow the proper "set" in an internal cumbustion engine setup? I think so. Interesting.
I put it in any place where lubrication is needed.
The extended drain intervals are fine but I don't go to long beyond normal change.
I ask a lot of my engines. I use synthetics whenever possible.

I like that you have clearly communicated "last chance". Did you sell it? If not , I am looking at this size tractor w/ FEL...would actually prefer 33 but price does make a difference. Does this tractor have HST?
