I have a JD 4610 with eHydro. Ever since I can remember it's had a funny sound when first started up. It's hard to describe this sound but I'd say it's between a squeal and a whistle.<br>

Anyway... I had it to the dealer for some last minute warranty work (goes out in June) and told them to check it out. Seems JD has a PIP on this noise problem. They changed a poppet valve and it's as quite as can be. <br>

Yanmar has not built a bad tractor. From a parts point of view- YM2200 and YM2700 are MUCH harder to get parts for. (if should you ever need them)

oh yeah if you are mechanicl incclimed you could offer to buy it in the "crate" and assymbel it your self and save some money if the local dealer would go for it

they are obligated to make any warranty repairs don't let them give you the run around if they do contact nh custumer support and they will get the dealer to do the job.

I spoke with my local dealer, and he told me that there is *zero* HP loss. I find that sort-of difficult to believe, but as someone said the Kubota page agrees with this info.

However, I did get two names from the dealer of people who bought 3430 cab tractors. I just spoke to the second guy this afternoon, and both say they have yet to see a single bit of difference with the compressor running or not. One of the guys has a 3130 w/hydro trans, and he told me that the 3430 with hydro and a/c is still easily stronger than the 3130 (would 3 hp make that much difference??). That does put my mind at ease, but please feel free to speak up if anyone has a different opinion or experience.

Would really need to know more about how the bumper/carrier was mounted to understand if the bolts failed in shear or in tension due to an induced moment on the bracket. Impact loading can more than double the weight on the connection. If you can provide some information; diameter of bolt, distance from connections to the center of the weight, and how the bumper/carrier attaches to the tractor, a solution is possible. Going to grade 5 or grade 8 bolts might keep the bolts from failing, but the soft bolts could have saved you tractor damage.

Be careful of aftermarket products. Things happen that void manufacturer's warrenties.

It certainly sounds like Beagle is on the right track, air in the system would cause such behavior. Air normally enters any hydraulic system after it has been unused for even a short while, like overnight, but nearly all modern cut systems bleed the air after a few cycles of the control valve. If the implement(s) is/are doing what you describe without you touching the control valve, then you have something going on beyond normal.

It is possible that your pressure relief valve(s) is/are not operating properly, or you may have pump cavitation (where your hydraulic pump is actually pumping air into the system). In any event, as Beagle suggests, eliminate the simple things first. The NH TC35 has dual pumps, so rule out the power steering pump. Now if the problem doesn't remedy itself after cycling the control valve, run a system pressure test and also test your hydraulic fluid for water.

I have the same problem with my steering on a LB1914,you have to turn it left befor you can turn it right. if you try to turn right it free turnsall the way. I live in utah and nearest dealer is in arizona.

JD 419 Loader should run you less than 3K installed with a ballast box. Maybe save a couple hundred if they let you install yourself.

If you are going to plow a field/garden with tall corn stalks, tall vegetation, etc., first using the disk will mash them down and cut them up (i.e. reason for notched disc teeth in front) so you get better coverage when plowing. If you're just doing a food plot and have a real sandy soil with little vegetation, the disk may chop it up sufficiently that plowing is not necessary.<br>

If you fall plow, in spring the soil will be mostly loose from freezing and thawing (if you live in a northern climate). Some type of harrow or spring tooth drag can be used to smooth it out, you need not go real deep. Doing so will dry out the damp soil that the plants need to germinate and restricts developement of a good root system. A disk can also be used, just don't go real deep. The angle of the disk will help to throw the soil while it churns it up and smooths it out as compared to a plowed field. Usually a disk has adjustments allowing the disk rows to be tilted. The front row of disks are rotated forward at the outer edges and the rear row pointed to the rear at the outer edges.<br>

If you spring plow, the soil usually has more moisture from the winter and spring snow/rain(i.e. the ground is more moist 6" down than at the top and plowing has brought this bottom soil to the top), the roots and debris have not yet decayed, so the disk afterwards will break this up. If you spring plow do it early but when the soil is dry, generally wait a week or more before disking. Hopefully afterward spring rains will re-add moisture to the soil. You will want to make sure the turned soil is dry before disking. If you don't and have clay type soil, it will be hard and chunky all summer. These chunks can be so hard they seem like cement/rocks about 3/4to 2" diameter. That kind of soil condition isn't fun working in when trying to have a nice garden plot.<br>

When spring plowing, I usually don't plow quite as deep. In fall I go about 6-7" deep and in spring about 5-6". If you don't go deep enough, the soil doesn't flip very good and cover but that doesn't usually happen unless you are only about 4".<br>

Fall plowing is better because of moisture retention!<br>

When plowing you don't want to go too fast nor too slow. With my hydro, I use low range at full speed at 2200-2500 rpm. With a geared transmission that would be about 2nd gear.<br>
<br>
When disking, you may want to work the ground at a diagonal to the direction that you plowed if at all possible. The ride is smoother and throws the soil in the plowed voids better. This depends upon your garden/field plot size.

We built a log splitter years ago using a GM PS pump. AS I recall, pressure was about 1200 PSI, but volume was low for repetitive cycles with a 4" cylinder. Cycle time shouldn't be a big consideration with your dump trailer.

These pumps are an all steel vane pump that is pretty much bullet proof. Cheap and readily available early model ones that come with the tank on the back can be easily converted to an external reservoir by tapping 4 existing holes and drilling one new 1/8" hole.

Dear JeffR, how true. When I started on the program, Light Helicopter Experimental (LHX) in 1981, the projected quantities were for 10,000 single pilot scout gunships and 7000 min-utility (like Black Hawk only all composite and smaller). The cold war was still raging and Europe expected that the Red Hordes would be pouring through the Fulda Gap by the mid 90's. When the Soviet Union fell, the military's objectives and planning changed immensely. A good thing because the Mission Equipment Package (MEP) was never fully up to expectations, that is why the aircraft grew to tandem seating to share the workload. The utility aircraft was dropped outright. As you pointed out, the program dragged on and on anyway. Some of this was due to the Army, a lot due to Sikorsky, and some due to our State political agenda who truly desired to keep workers employed.

The aircraft, as it is today is a remarkable milestone in aviation history, and however advanced it may be, it is still a reflection of the Cold War. There is no doubt that it would have value on the battlefield, but at a cost the tax payer can barely afford. That price tag is enormous, and the work is still under development until the contract runs out late this fall. The existing aircraft will no doubt fly as technology demostrators destined for static display in Ft. Rucker's aviation museum. Another factor which led to the Army's about was are the lessons from our fighting in Somalia which focused attention on the frailty of even the most robust of helicopters, the UH-60L, and the ease with which a single soldier armed with an rpg could defeat it.

Be that as it may, the manufacturing segment of industry, especially in America, is determined to reduce its reliance on domestic labor. This may be a natural evolution of business, it is in my opinion, a horrible error. While the profit margin may widen making the sharholder happy, sooner or later, the circle will close because the consumer will no longer be in a position to make a purchase. Is it so hard to see that the consumer is also the worker who builds the product, be it tractors, cars, aircraft or whatever? A service based economy is doomed to failure. Period.

Somewhere in time, those who lead our industry must realize that slow capital growth will win in time, over the get-rich-quick mentality aberrations like the "Dot Coms," and when that happens maybe we will have financial equilibrium. The world stock market hangs in a precarious balance that can be easily tipped over the edge by a small handful of suicidal holymen. But before equilibrium can happen, things will have to get much worse. What we are seeing, and what you all have witnessed, is a transformation of culture which will eventually end in the need for this nation to have a second chance. Hopefully, we will get it right this time.

Jeff, that implement in Yooper's pics is a 'pulverizer', it is used to break up hard-pan before seeding, or to eliminate clumps, etc., before sodding.

If you want I can send you some very good information on building one, I have made MANY of them over the years.

They can also be made incorporating a blade instead of teeth, those are usually referred to as a 'Grade-Maker' after the trade name for a manufactured one.

I finally got to fixing the leak. I bought a 12 pt., 1 1/16" deep socket. Cut 2 points out, removed the fitting and teflon taped the threads. So far no leaks. There wasn't any type of sealer on the threads so that probably was the problem. <br>
New Hollands I believe are metric, but the service tech told me to get the 1 1/16" socket. It was a little loose but that could have been because I tried a crescent wrench at first. <br>
An added note. I needed to remove the fuel filter and dipstick for more room. My TC33D has an electronic fuel cut off which I accidentally disconnected. The wire and unit are behind some plumbing. Needless to say, bleeding the fuel became a composition of adult language and battery charging that almost ruined a Saturday night. Fortunately, there's beer.
