I've sat the bucket down and relieved line pressures by operating all valves in both directions and they still wouldn't reconnect easily. Relieving the bucket pressure after the lift can cause let the bucket down, which pressurizes the lift lines again. Now when I do it I put the lift in float and then relieve the bucket and finally the lift again. Even if all lines were relieved and disconnected on a cool day they may not connect easily on a hot day or in the sun.

My loader lines have male ball end quick-connects. The solution usually is to wrap a rag around the ball end and push it against a tire. For worse cases I've had to whack a piece of 2x4 held across the ball end. To relieve female connects a soft punch is needed to depress the ball. I'd take care to not damage the connector, and I've had to relieve especially stubborn by loosening the fittings. A more expensive solution is to replace ordinary quick-connects with types that connect under pressure.

I don't know anything about a Ford V10, but a friend of mine recently traded his Dodge V10. I never drove a pickup whith so much power, but his best mileage was between 5 and 6 MPG. With two dollar gas you'd have to have a real need for that much power. Maybe Ford V10's get better mileage than his Dodge, so I'd sure ask around before I bought the truck. Just my thoughts, Frank.

I am thinking about buying a 1999 Kubota 3710 with 450 hours. The unit does not have a FEL nor has it ever had one. The tractor is in very good condition other than some paint fade due to not being garaged. All maintenance has been performed according to specs and no warranty work or repairs have been needed or done.The dealer price is $11,500. How does that price sound? I live in SC if it makes a difference. Thanks!

Yeah those old IH tractors from the 40s and 50s just never wear out. I love my Super M.......spend alot of hours on it as a kid plowing and disking for my Dad and then cultivating corn and beans 3 or 4 times during the summer. We had cleaner crops then than what most people have today and we didn't spend a fortune on the chemicals to do so....just alot of my sweat and patience behind the wheel of my trusted Super M

I joined this group while I was shopping for a CUT. It has been a great resource. I gained a lot of knowledge in a short time just by reading various posts. I posted my own questions a while back and appreciate the feedback.<br>

I finally purchased a used 1998 JD 970 with loader and backhoe. I have been busy using it since the day I picked it up...new crushed stone driveway (200ft.), grading projects, timber cleanup, snow removal. I can't believe how much work I can get done in such a short time. <br>

Treeman, thanks for replying. Do I need to plow or anything first, or is this a "no-till" type planter? I'm not sure if any of the Pennsylvania offices loan a planter. Is it difficult to work, and how many were you able to plant in a day?

Sorry if my explanations about hinged rear cutters are confusing. The basic idea is that a fixed rear cutter can interfere with the front blade and a hinged model allows it to swing up and out of the way.<br>

For example, if you extend the top-link to decrease the cut too much with a fixed model the box rolls onto the back of the rear cutter and lifts the front blade off the surface. There's dragging but no cutting. That limits the fine work that can be done. In addition, with heavy cuts in soft soil, even with the top-link shortened, the cut can only go so deep before the rear blade comes down on the back side of the cut and the blade can't go deeper. A hinged model can make short shallow excavations with fewer passes because the box of a fixed model may not fill completely in a short pass. <br>

However, I'm not sure it's really much of an issue. I doubt that the work done by myself as well as many homeowners really needs the fairly subtle advantages of a hinged model.

First of all if your thinking of a 29 I would go to the 33 it should only be about $900.00 more than the 29. I have a TC33D and absolutely love it. It is small, but big enough to do all I need. To save some money you could buy a Rhino backhoe. Rhino makes the OEM hoe for New Holland. I just ordered a Rhino for my TC33 (7.5ft) For $5275.00 mounted and out the door. This was over $2000.00 less than the closeset NH hoe,which is identicle to the Rhino. $2000.00 will go along way towards the bigger tractor.

Oh man, too bad about your neighbour and it's not an easy time for you either. The exterior bedroom door idea is a good think to think about. We have a fire safety video in our Library that shows a frame house going from start to completely engulfed in about 10 minutes. The messages is that even with smoke detectors--if hear it there's no time to do anything but get out immediately. Standard houses really aren't good for many seniors and people with limited mobility.

Very good info from AC and I learned something about batteries. Maybe we'll get back to the subject.

In most places the utility is responsible for making connections to service panels. If they connect it then it's got be up to code so there's no debate there. I'm assuming that meter bases with additional lugs are larger than the standard jumbo bases because I can't imagine for example that there'd be enough room in a 200A jumbo base for three 100A lines in addition to 6 200A lines required for standard 200A service. I don't know if the additional lugs Peters mentioned would accommodate heavy service line not.

I'm reasonably certain the idea wouldn't fly here, although the last service I installed was going on 4 years ago now. It might be a good deal if the idea flies but to me splitting still is equivalent a branch circuit in terms of total load rating on the utility line and a branch circuit hookup should be easier. I really can't imagine that existing service line would be so above a service panel load rating that an additional 100A could be hung on it but who knows? Similarly I can't imagine a utility being too happy about residential service with multiple disconnects but again maybe it's a good deal if the idea flies. Our utility is conservative and the rules worked to are pretty restrictive.

Well I'm brand new to this forum but you'll probably be hearing from me often. I love forums and this coming weekend I will be the proud owner of a new Branson. I have not fully decided on which model but probably it will be the 3510 with the bL10 loader and the 7620 backhoe. We have 4 acres to clear/landscape and remove lots of snow in the winter. If any body knows the best snowblower for this rig please let me know. Thanx, Mike

I have a 60 inch ERSKINE front mounted snow blower and love it. For a jd 790/ deere could learn something one this one !!!!!<br>
It did very well,I used the hydraulic cylinders for the lift and rotate off of the fel circuit and the optional deflector kit ie electric servo.<br>
This unit is a frame mount and is driven off your rear pto through a transfer case to the front at 540 rpm. <br>
I only popped a shear pin when I sent a chunk of ice the size of a bowling ball 30 some odd feet !!!!!!!

O.K peters this helps a little.Just a couple of questions here.First my hood is not repairable at all.What size or model of yanmar is compairable to the 1050?Do you know of any wrecking yards your way? I have tried Worthington, and a few more in the Carolinas.I am in N.C.So far nothing.

Thanks for the input. I've seen some strange gook come out of my outboard gear box but it was clumpy, this was smooth as regular oil. I went ahead and put 90# in the "side chamber" (I assume it contains the chain from the main shaft to the tiller shaft). I checked the lubricant in the main gear box that is directly connected to the PTO shaft input and it is the same color and viscosity. I ran the tiller for about two hours the other day and no "weird noises" yet. If any one else has any info it is appreciated.

Service manual for DK35 was around $65.
