I have a new TC29. The hydraulic fluid is low. Can I purchase a good high quality hydraulic fluid from Farm and Fleet, TSC, etc or do I have to buy the New Holland Brand to top it off? It's much more convenient to go to TSC if I can.<br>I can't see how NH's brand is any better than that used by Deere, IH, etc.<br>Any ideas?<br>Larry

I couldn't have said it better myself - [fortunately] you're in the minority... You've got it all figured out and the millions of other investors in publicly traded companies don't really understand about shareholder value and EPS. I guess the thousands of Deere customers who are willing to pay $20K for a tractor and wait weeks/months to take delivery have all been hoodwinked into buying a poor quality product. Yes Mario, unlike you I'm the real deal - I actually own a 4000 series tractor (do you???). Is it perfect - no. Have I had problems - yes. Am I happy with the tractor - yes. Would I recommend a 4000 series to someone else - absolutely. Do I knock other tractor owners just because they don't drive the same color tractor I do - no. You wouldn't by chance be related to Kubota Man would you? Get a life... :-))

Being new to tractors and so far only wrestled with one implement...but from horsing around alignment holes in stage trusses and things I know that a drift pin can be very handy...a nice 3/8 piece of hardened steel. Depending on the implement it might be worthwhile to drill (if there is a place for it) a hole directly above the pin. Then as you back your tractor in close put the drift pin through the drawbar and then through the implement and yank on it until they line up...then you just need to drop your drawbar to the level of the pin.<br>If the implement is a bracket attachment using hitch pins it's even easier...just put the drift pin through one of the implement holes and through the drawbar and yank it around until you can get the pin through the other side.<br>Good Luck<br>Kim

I replaced a massey 60 inch side disharge with a Woods 60 inch rear discharge this season. The woods is almost double the weight of the massey 600lbs, but once the mower is on the ground mowing it is not noticable. Pull it with John Deere 650 and cut 2 acres. This is the smoothest cut I have ever seen and have had no problems. The grass does clump a little but even with more weight tractor does not seem to strain. Believe clumping could be reduced by removing safety chains but it isn't that noticable and is evenly spread. I would buy another woods in a minute it is a real hoss.

The last I knew, they were all the same indicators for each of the different models. Not much to it, just take a Hack Saw and cut it on level ground if you need to.. pretty easy.. takes 5 minutes..

I think the name of the company selling Bolens-Iseki Parts is Garden-Way and they are located in Troy New York. Call and they'll help you. Also, in Montgomery New York there is a Ford tractor dealer that sells Bolens parts. It may be Montgomery Ford Tractor. Use the dealer locator to help. Good Luck

I'm Kubota dealer in Belgium. Today, I was invited by Kubota Europe for the introduction show of this tractor. It's a 22HP available (in Europe) in 2WD or 4WD with reel pto, reel 3 point CAT1 and power steering. I see this tractor with mid mount cutting deck, with a loader, with a front 3 point/pto. The name for Europe is BX2200. Compact like a JD455 but with reel 3point (sorry but I speek French). Be patient, it's a wonderful tractor !

Thanks for all the responses. The local dealer said a comparably equiped 4200 would run about 22K. I relealize I might do better if I shop around. I'm also considering the savings on sales tax by going used. I just found out the 855 is a '96 model. Dan - Would you mind sharing the details on your new 955 (equipment and price)? Also, do you know how much more a used 955 typical sells for over a used 855? The 955 seems to be a significant jump in HP and hydraulic perfomance over the 855. - Mike

My father owns a G1800 4WS lawn tractor/mower. This unit is one of the neatest mowers I've ever used, not to mention that it steers all four wheels as if it has power steering, but it doesn't. Unfortunately, It has one MAJOR design flaw. LIGHTS!! or lack there of. The lights in this unit are worse than the little license plate lights my truck has... Upon disassembly, we found that the bulbs are measely little 12-14W bulbs. I would think higher wattage bulbs will fit the sockets, but what about heat build up! I don't want to melt his plastic lenses. It appears this is a fairly common problem on Kubota's, and would assume many have re-engineered this situation. We would really love to hear what others have found as a good reliable solution. The obvious solution is to simply mount other lights, But I don't want to overload the alternator and Battery. If the tractor has power steering, you will see a hydralic cylinder attached to the steering mechinism at the front of the tractor. The pump may be internal to the transmission, but the cylinder is what actually provides the assist in the steering. Most compact tractors have an option for ps. It can usually be installed on a tractor after purchase. I used to have a jd 650 that didn't have ps. on it, but for a few hundred dollars it was available from the dealer to be retrofitted. It makes a big difference when you have a loader on the tractor. Other times it's nice but not a must, unless you have a large , heavy tractor. Hope this helps.

My dad has an 870 with a 440 loader. The loader is very powerful and tough. I believe it is the model for the other 4xx series loader. I own a 4200 with a 420 loader and while it is plenty for the 4200 it would defineatly not be large enough for the 870. Your best bet is the 440 loader!!
