I'm guessing that the bolts are broken below the level of the case and can't be grabbed by anything. An alternative might be centre drilling and easyouts. Worth a try but I've never had much luck with them and those bolts would have been installed at farily high torque. Be aware that any torch use is going to be on cast parts. A bunch of procedures that go outside my experience may apply. Also be aware that drilling through the bolt stubs would put metal shavings into the cases (may not be much of an issue but perhaps worth a thought).

If the bolt ends can't be extracted in place then splitting the tractor may be required. If so, various jacks etc. are needed and it'd be good to work from procedures in a manual.

I'd sure wonder what broke the bolts (3ph hoe maybe) and if there are problems other than the broken bolts. I think a careful inspection of the cases etc. would be good. If the entire assembly ends up torn down formal tests for stress cracks in the castings might be in order.

I new it would snow, I just took the blower off to twitch
out some trees this past weekend.Anxious to get the stump grinder out I guess.
This is the time of year I appreciate blacktop and snowblowers as opposed to the lawn remodel.

Yes, I've had a few tangles with trees. The heavy-gauge steel won those tangles but then I wasn't going very fast either. Another possible benefit of a canopy around here is that the may trap a bit of diesel exhaust and help deter black flies. Must be getting towards spring if I'm starting to think about the dang things.

I have a 48 hoe on a 4310, even if it will fit I think you're begging for all kinds of trouble. a 48 hoe is almost 500 lbs. heavier than a 47 and to make matters worse the lift capacity of the 3 pt. on the 4210 used to lift the hoe into position on the subframe is 500 lbs. less than a 4310. I've ran farm and industrual equipment all my life and beleive me overloading a machine ends up costing you way more than using a proper size machine from the git go. Without a loader or lots of front weights on the 4210 I really doubt that you cold mount the hoe without the front of the tractor coming off the ground. Frank.

Work is work though, even with my L3130HST helping. What I have found is that I can tackle jobs I would not otherwise even consider doing myself. At the end of the day, (or maybe even an hour or two) I still have my share of aches and pains, the difference being they are not too severe and usually are gone by next morning. Each person has to evaluate his/her physical abilities, and try to work within a safe envelope. It does no good to avoid hand-digging a footer only to wrench your back attaching the equipment to the tractor, or doing simple maintenance.
By all means, get a tractor if you need one, can afford one, and realize that the tractor will do a great portion of the work, but there will still be a human component.

I wish I had my tractor 15 years ago, when I could really give it a workout!

The power beyond kit is a hydraulic hose/outlet behind the seat. I have one because I got a backhoe and that's where it hooks up.

If you are starting from scratch, it is actually the same dollars or a bit cheaper to buy a self powered splitter on it's own trailer than it would be to have a Power Beyond kit installed and then buy a three point mounted splitter. You can buy a self powered splitter around here for $1100 but you have to shop long and to find a decent three point splitter under $1000

The 4010 3 point hitch is identical in size to the 4115 and the lift capacity is about the same.

Everything is too small for something! My tractor will not run a 6 foot brush hog, or an 8 foot backhoe or a generator bigger than 10 KW.

You are buying one of the most reliable tractors on the market, but it won't pull a semi out of a ditch and neither will mine.

I have the same problem as of yesterday. I was aware that these tractors blow ignition switches all the time (from the sales man that delivered the tractor). He was blaming people who hose off the tractors and cause the switch to short out. So he was aware that they short out, what he was not aware of is that the switch is pretty much water proof and protected from water getting on it. So, it sounds like a defect in the switch design to me. I bought a new switch and installed it. It did not fix the problem. Everything works except like you said it seems there is no battery in the machine.
Gibson, I don't understand what you are saying "There was a running change to change" What does that mean? Where do I dind the blown fuses/relay left side or right?

I wasn't going to get a ballast box until I tried to move a dump truck load of gravel. I have a 4 ft frontier blade and that wasn�t enough counter weight. The front felt like it was heavy and the tractor was a little unstable on uneven ground. It�s not a good feeling when you get a tire off terra firma. The guy at the dealership said it could also help when I mow on steep terrain. If you are not moving anything that heavy you should be alright.

I do believe I mentioned that the 61" HD bucket would not likely be sold for the 410 loader. We all know it is not listed as an option. The 61" HD bucket spec'd for the 420 and 430 loader will fit the 410--exact same quick-attach mounting. Any of us could order one (the HD bucket for the 420/430) for our 4100/4110/4115s and have a more solid bucket that was oversized for heavy materials. Of course you could still only pick up lighter loads with the HD bucket, but that would be kind of squandering the extra engineering.

To restate a little more clearly, JD doesn't recommend it (doesn't list it as an option)--you are correct. Most dealers would advise against it as a waste of money and weight, as I said. Repeat: the 410 loader cannot pick up a full 61" bucket of very heavy materials regardless of whether it is an HD or SD bucket, and either bucket will fit. I pretty much thought we all ended up reaching common ground, Didn't mean to aggravate anything, Denno...Regards, Pete

I found a used 2001'GT18 garden tractor with snowblower for sale. It shows 31 hours on it and seems to be in good mechanical condition. Cosmetically, it appears the machine was kept under a car port or tarped off outside. A lot of edges, hardware, wheels are showing some rust. The hood has some scratches and a couple minor dents(mostly from the snowblower).Owned by a roughneck I guess! What do you think its worth? The dealer wants about 7 for a new unit with a mower. Would you take a chance?

NH does what Kubota does as far one key for each series of tractors----I was kinda shocked when I learned that my $40,000 skidloader can be had with $3 key anybody can buy at the dealer. Turns out NH skidloaders are just like NH tractors when it comes to keys. The good thing with the skidloaders is you can key-in a digital pass code. I guess that's why I have to pay $1000 a year to insure the skidloader.

Hello all. I am new to the board and I hope to learn alot. I have owned a Ford 8N for about 7 years and it is fine for what it is and what I needed it for.I just bought a new Farm Pro (2425) this weekend and I love it.I know some people think that if it is not Green or Blue it is not a real tractor but if it does what I need it to do it is fine with me. I also think that the big three could be more reasonable with their price since the engines and other parts are made overseas. I have friends that work in the auto manufacturing field, and I think it is sad they pay people $30 an hour to put in a few bolts in.That is why cars and tractors are so high. Don't get me wrong it is ok to make that if you are a skilled person but it doesn't take that much skill to put in a few bolts.Sorry to get off the subject. If I recall correctly the RoadRunner was made by Davis Mfg. or what then became Case-Davis, and what is now called Case. I also think it had steel tracks. Sometimes you can find them on e-bay for as little as $200 in bad shape. Pretty sure it dates back to the mid 70's. I have a 1987 Case DH5 articulated trencher---a fairly large machine at 5,000 lbs. with backhoe (for sale for the right price!) which has the same engine as full size dozers and backhoes of that era. Not sure what you are doing with it but for example my unit will trench from 2 in wide to 16 in. wide (backhoe has a 14" wide bucket)--but other Case units such as the Sneaker and Mini-sneaker will do around 2 to 4in.

I guess it's Dumb question time .. But What is the purpose of the long angle iron box assembly ? and does the joystick mount to it instead of drilling the fender of my tractor ? John

My sense of market values for any tractor wouldn't be worth much. There are a few discussions about Long tractors in the archives you may want to consider if you haven't already found them.

Yes, getting to the strut's bottom pin is the problem. The HST pedal mechanism has it pretty well encased. I ordered a new strut today... $175. :-(
