I need to replace the hydraulic strut that is used to adjust the tilt angle of the steering column on my TC33D (with HST). The fluid leaked out of mine. In looking at the brackets that hold the strut in place it appears that I'm going to have to remove the entire dash assembly just to get to some of those bolts. My question is - Do I have to remove the entire steering wheel assembly just to replace this strut, or is there an easier way?<br>

What else do I need? I am going to buy 790 4WD with 419 fel, box blade, LX5 cutter, disc, maybe mud tires. what about top and tilt, i match, do I need something for fel, and what about cost for each, is it worth it.

I picked up a mention of Prairie Dog Backhoes in a tractor discussion. Supposed to be a re-engineered Woods backhoe. An internet search could not find them. Does anyone have contact info for them.<br>

M. both brands you mention are good tractors and with good care will last for years. Myself I have Deere, but that's based on years of good relations with the dealer. Between the two I would choose the brand with the most farm based business in your aeria, they seem to have better prices and generally stay in business longer than the lawn and garden only type dealers do. The dealership that I work with seems to have had their compact tractor and lawn and garden equipment dept grow to be a major part of their operation. It kind of boils down to which dealership is close by and you feel the most comfortable working with. Frank.

Follow up: Thanks for the comments. I am looking at a tree shear with a weight of 800 lbs. That does not leave enough working margin if I go with the LA513. Just wanted to be sure I was on firm ground when I push for the 723. Thanks

I never got the impression that the 61" bucket was weak... just that it was intended to give the under 4200 group a high volume bucket for lighter materials.

Pete is right, the 53 inch bucket weighs 169 pounds and the 4110/4115 can lift 882 total pounds to max height. The "struck" capacity of the bucket is 7.8 cubic feet and wet soil weighs almost 100 pounds per cubic foot.

The 61 inch bucket weighs 20 pounds more and holds 9 cubic feet. That puts a load of wet soil at 1100 pounds, way over the 882 pound rated capacity. Unless, of course, you are moving grain or mulch with it.

I ended up going with the Duramax and can say that the diesel out does it in every thing towing or empty. milage is far better and there is never a power problem. I towed my 35 foot trailer over 600 miles ( 9000 lbs)and got 17.5 mpg's that better than I got with old truck empty. Just love it!

I have used a 15 gal spot sprayer on my quad to spray hawthorn saplings and was real surprised on how often I had to remix, but then I was really soaking then as to be sure they were killed off. didn't like them future tire destroying tree growing! Them tree's will spread like a house fire if you don't get a handle on them.

I burned a pile of wood the other day and after we had the fire going threw in some bamboo we had cut as tomato stakes. The Bamboo when off like gun shots or firecrackers. <br>
Being the big kid we threw in a piece of Vivax, lumber grade material up to 8 inches in diameter with 3/8 inch walls. Naturally it sounded more like a cannon.<br>
I had never realized that they would sound like that. I guess that is what encouraged the chinese to create firecrackers centuries ago.

If it's a warranty issue, I think I'd just show up at the dealer and respond to all questions asked rather than volunteering information here or elsewhere. I haven't heard of the problem on that tractor before.
