I have a Millermatic 135.

I've used the crud out of it. One thing about the 110v units, they rate out at about 20amps on the input. So a typical home outlet most of the times seems to be about 15amps in newer homes. I have a dedicated lines to my garage. 110 and 220. When I first got the welder I did not have those and would throw the breaker if I cranked it up. Looking back, I would have started out with the 175 since it's not that much more and now that I have 220v to the garage. My brother has an older Hobart 110v unit. It dont have much power. But I think there is something wrong with it. Also the Miller has infinite voltage control as the Hobart does not. Sometimes I wonder if the infinite voltage control is not that big of a deal since I'm using it at 10 most of the time. I turn it down for thin. I've welded alot of thin tubing with it. Works beatiful.

Whats good about 110's is their portability. Take it anywhere to weld light stuff.

It welds really good (depending on the hand holding the gun). I've made several projects. I have welded some very thick stuff (1/4 to 3/8). You can do it and have a decent weld but it is very slow for thick. While I'm not welding expert I did ask a couple of fab guys about MIG welding. One suggested using .023" because he felt you could apply more heat with the thin wire. He also mentioned he felt that flux wire (without gas) makes a hotter weld also but is not as pretty.

I also bought a Miller Cutmate 375 to accent the blue color in my garage with more blue color. All I can say about the plasma cutter is that once you have one it's like a dream come true for metal working.

Perhaps someday when I can convice my wife I would like get a Millermatic 251. It will go up to 300 amps. But I will probably get a good stick welder.

I have a L3000DT, does not have all the bells and whistles, but it handles following just fine: 5 ft snowblower, 5 ft brushhog, 6 ft digger, disc.
I am very happy with It and a great value.

After reading here I would only buy a 220V welder, but I'm a little reluctant to buy without having an idea of what to look for. Of course without one it's a little hard to practice.

Hydraulic scarifiers would be nice but the price of the implements with hydraulic scarifiers is high.<br>
For my uses I felt adding hydraulic top and tilt would be more flexible and could be used on several differant implements.<br>

Also, I like where your lights are on the folding rops. below the break. Does that give you any glare being that close to your head? Seems like it would be a logical place to locate on "frops" Would you know off hand if there are any wiring kits with switches for extra lighting like yours or do you need to fab it your self? Lights and mounts are no problem,(I have them) just wiring and locating switches/w maybe a new fuse/circuit? Thanks again.

According to the data in the SAE article the increase in fuel economy is 30%. I doubt their is much difference between the 4 and 6 in fuel economy if it is anything like the YJ.
From what I see the fuel economy goes from 22 to 29 highway.

LOL, I like the name! My Lab was also a chewer, she ate 2 high chairs and many many, articles of never seen again pawer rangers. Also a 1" Pike hook and a 500 dollar bill later an a few stitches to boot!!!

As for the temper, No I did not give much thought to it, (to be honest) The pre hard is (to say the least) not very hard. You can work it (with just about) any cutting tools not made in china LOL. It has a toughness to it more than hard, so it really is not brittle. The one thing that I did not do is put a whole down the center of the pin to get at the bottom pulley. I figured with a little never seez on the bolts if I had to ever get to the pulley (and after doing all this ) it wont be too tough to drop the front member again.
Whoopie, my after market front side panels that I won on ebay for 82 dollars came in today. They only have a couple of small marks where the weld is showing that need to be repaired. Who ever made them done a fine job! I say after market, but it looks to me like this guy must have a skill and some equipment because he beat all the other "new" side panels by 40 bucks and they dont look like they were made in china. I feel good about that, I think I just helped out a good ole AMERICAN (hard working craftsmen) make some beer money or feed a few of his kids for a few days! I am happy with my blind purchase! This was one part of the rebuild that was eating at me, because they are so visual and vital to a nice looking tractor but I did not want to spend 120 bucks or more on them.

I haven't run into a problem with the width yet.

A set of Rankin pallet forks I had (that they said were iMatch compatible) hooked up, but the cams that swing out to lock the bottom pins in place hit the frame. I returned those.

The 3-point carryall I have didn't have enough clearance between the top pin and the carryall frame to insert the hook. It only had about an inch of clearance. I had that modified by a welder.

On my Jinma chipper the top pin is 18" above the bottom pins which is three inches higher than the iMatch. An adjustable top hook would have helped here except that the top pin was also set 6" further back than the bottom pins and the iMatch frame would have hit the chipper body. I'm having that modified by a welder now (if he ever finishes it).

You can get a backhoe for the GC2300, but there is a significant difference between the GC2300 and the GC2310. The GC2300 requires an undercarriage subframe, and the backhoe for the GC2300 actually has slightly better specs. Massey came out with the GC2310 soon after the GC2300, and it does not have a subframe. The GC2310's backhoe is easier to mount/unmount.

I have the 7 series hoe for my 790.
Disconnecting; I got it down to 5 min.and installing; down to 10 min.(sometimes the ground settles under the stabilizers requiring a little more finess) is a breeze any easier and you think it will fall off however once it conected it really becomes a intregal part of the tractor and is really tough !!!
To drop it is as easy,makes changing implements a snap it takes 5 extra min. to install the 3pt hitch and the main reason I went to the power beyond set up.

There are more than one 61" choice of buckets for the 410 loader...I have the HD 61" on my 4100, and it is by no means a light materials bucket..there is a 1/2 plate underneath the front lip, the sides under a 1/4 inch and plates underneath on certain stress points. There is no way under normal usuage will the front lip bend..and if I exceed the weight limit, the machine just dosent lift it..no big deal, and no harm to the machine ( I use enough ballast)...for real digging the tooth bar is used, and that protects the lip as well...<br>
