which is better the #7 or the woods 7500? how hard are they to install myself? do i need the pump with the 7500 or just get the power beyond? any other suggestions? thanks

It really isn't a major concern until it starts dropping while you are operating it, especially when you are using another spool on the same stick, or if you see fluid leaking. Then you need to investigate further, and quickly, because that could become a major safety issue. I would trust your dealer, he has good information, as well as those who have posted before me.

I was surprised when I bought my 48 backhoe from Deere that they didn't offer a bucket smaller than 12 inches. They undoubtedly have some logic for this, but I find the 9" an excellent width for installing Belgium blocks for curbing and edging, and also for laying underground cable. I just ordered the 12" and am curious as to how well it will work for this task. My other buckets of choice are the 18 inch for general digging (works well for stumps) and the 24 inch for rapid digging in uncontested soil and for footings. I don't believe there is one bucket that does all, unless you'll only be doing one thing.

It goes in cycles I guess. My dealer told me that in 2002 nobody wanted R4s so in 2003 they ordered R1s on all their CUTs and then all the buyers were ordering R4s. Go figure.

paladin I am also in SE PA and bought local for the same price quoted me by Ted. I also have been very happy with my dealer. I bought TC 33D, FEL with filled R4s.

Why not buy from Corriher or Tarheel

Got my first prices tonight (all HST w/loader, hoe, tax not included)...B2410=$21,300.B7610=$20,300.B7800=$22,400. These are a little higher than I wanted but I don't want to "cheap out" and be disappointed later with less of a machine than I need. I don't know if Art can beat these or not. Also, this dealer is 20 minutes from my house. Opinions?

I paid a lot more than that, but not sure what options are already included on your tractor. The invoice breakdown I have shows that the electric diverter valve, two additional SCVs, and TnT kit added more than $2k.

My tires came loaded with Rim Guard, recommended by the dealer because of the FEL. If I were to do it over, I would use wheel weights so I could remove them for mowing, or other activities where I was concerned about tearing up the ground. It also makes tire repair a pretty expensive endeavor. Water and calcium chloride is a recipe for a problem due to the corrosive nature of the salt. Wheel weight brackets can also be fabricated to extend outside the wheel rim to further stabalize the tractor. My vote is for wheel weights. Easy to make, easy to use, easy to maintain. Good luck.

The BX23 comes with the 4 way valve as standard for the FEL (its an option on the BX22). Its also mounted to the FEL, not the tractor, as on the BX22. The BX23 also has a higher backed seat. Other than that, they're the same (I think).

I havn't seen much, Jeep has a diesel in europe same as the Liberty called the "Cherokee?" with a Benz engine. The only info that we are getting around Detroit is that they will only be making about 5000 for the first year of release. They also are stating that it will have 15% better fuel economy. (Better than what? the six cyl. gas?) The engine is a Chrysler 2.5L turbo with common rail injection system.

The Big Three is still believing that most of the US population won't want a Diesel because of noise and smoke etc. I think I also heard that Benz is also going to rerelease their big touring sedan in diesel in the US market this fall.

I'm looking to buy either a Rhino Box with hyd. scarifiers , or Woods bb with lever actuated scarifiers ( 72") ,and an equally heavy rake with guage wheels (84"). <br>
OR a York FW rake(84 ") with scarifiers ,blade , etc . <br>
The price is about the same . But the RW York rake only has a 60 " scarifier . <br>
Given the same choices ,what would you folks suggest ? <br>

Might it be due to the relief valve settings on the mid framed 10-series tractors? They don't want you to pick up a load so big you'd break something else (like the front axle). On other machines (like the 790) I've heard of guys tweaking the relief valve to get higher lift capacity, but that's the kind of thing that would void a warranty real quick if something broke.
