Everyone has their needs, but I had a BX sized tractor and got rid of it after 75hrs. Found the 3-point too limited because of the short arms and lack of traction. Great tractor for mowing and light loader work, nothing it couldn't do with the loader. But 3-point implements were limited in use. Tractor didn't have the lift height or the traction to do the kind of grading work I needed. Depends on what you need, they always feel smaller after you use them for awhile. I was about to buy a 2410, the wife talked me up to the 7800. Great tractor and better wife. Good luck.

So far it is much better / simpler than other installs I have done with Linux on a laptop (about 6 years ago)<br>

The software has come a long way. I now use Sun's StarOffice on my windows XP as well as the new Java Desktop.<br>

Printers continue to be a problem, particularly the Canons I have. Luckily I found a driver from TurboPrint for the s820 I have, but no dice on the MP730.<br>

Still getting used to the Java Desktop, have to try it for a couple of weeks.<br>

My spouse and kids are my guinea pigs on this, life is not always fair is it? If they can get used to it then maybe anyone can<br>

It's not really a valve. It's a big nut with a 1/4'', 45 degree elbow coming off of it to a low point on the tractor where it meets a two input drain valve. The other end is connected to the radiator. The leak appears to be coming from the threads. It looks like it needs to be re-tefloned. It's so tight in there. I took the dip stick out and looks like I would need to take the oil filter off. The oil doesn't need to be changed, that's when I called the dealer.

It sounds to me as if the drive gear is probably defective. These gears have a one way clutch in them that may be slipping. If the drive is spinning while the starter is on the bench, it is because there is no load on it then. Take it to the repair shop and tell them to replace the drive gear.

I would have to say the boom is first thing you need to buy after getting a tractor. How else can you get your 3PT toys out of the pickup or trailer?

Got use my No.31 digger last weekend for the first time. With the 14" dia bit in heavy wet clay no problem digging. Here's a pic of me testing it. Dug 14 holes in 2 hours with a no heart attack or back pain. What a bargain for $300!

My deck does not have the 7 Iron decals on it I think that is the marketing hype for the ZTR's and other mowers. It would make sense that they make most if not all out of 7 guage steel as it would simplify stockage for production.

Sorry for posting so late...I hope I'm not too late to talk you into a wider boxblade. The 48" boxblade will not cover the rear track of your 4110. I have a 60" for my 4110, and would have purchased a 54" if it would have been readily available. The 4110 will handle most work with the 60" boxblade, but it will stop it in its tracks if you take too big of a bite. The 54" is perfect as it covers the 52-53" width of the rear tires. Ditto on the ballast comments above. You can also buy plent of cheap used suitcase weights from a tractor boneyard and get the weight of a 54/60" rear box blade above 1,000 pounds. I would mow that hill up and down. The increased mass of your new tractor will make it prone to rear-end slide in even the slightest damp/wet grass condition. Take no chances with hill safety!

Congrats on a good site! On the same subject, i have just brought an R400 with transmission problems. It will crawl forward and back but no power (won't run up a ramp). I havn't got it home yet but if anyone has experienced this can you give me some ideas where to start?

Climber, Now that you mention you expect to put a stream of water 30 to 40 ft. up in trees I'd better retract 99% of anything I said in my previous response. I just assumed you were going to spray lawn and garden type things and a hand boom with 10-15 ft. of reach. the 25-30 GPM pump with 400 lbs of pressure might do the job. This type equipment gets expensive real fast. To push a stream of water that high you not only need lots of pressure but lots and lots of volume. A small stream of water has almost all of it's volume consumed in surface aeria, so no matter how high the pressure the friction of the air it is passing thru kills the speed of the stream almost instantly. However a larger diamater stream say like 1/2 inch in diamater exiting a nozzle at high pressure has lots of inertia and much less of it's total volume as surface aeria so the weight of the water in the stream combined with the high velocity (i. e.)high pressure produce enough ineertia to penetrate the air to get it that far. Kinda like comparing the water coming out of your 3000 lb. pressure washer at low volume only really going 8-10 ft where as a fire hose with lower pressure but lots of volume will reach a long way. I hope I did'nt ramble too long, but perhaps a commercial tree service could do the job cheaper than the high dollar componets to put such a unit together. Hope this helps and perhaps others with more experince could shed some light on the subject too. Frank.

Well, if the 2615 has it, hopefully the 2015 does as well. I would imagine Mahindra utilizes the same valve set-up in both loaders. Charlie, by the way, exactly how do you set your FEL to the float position??

Anyone have an idea where I can get competitive prices for BX2230, 54MMM, FEL, and snowblower? Ct. would be perfect, but most dealers are not willing to negotiate at all here. Any recommendations? Would really appreciate your advise. Would be willing to travel 200 miles if it would help.

Yeah, but even with the rubber tracks, the skid steering will tear up turf - especially in the spring. My BX23 can dig a very neat hole, but only 5 or at most 6 feet deep. I'm in New England, and extracting boulders means that the hole will always be a bit ragged.

You can't go wrong with either one, but if you're comparing prices you should compare apples to apples. The Kubota dealer is quoting you less expensive implements (I'm not saying poorer quality, I don't know, but the green ones are very good) and no quick hitch. There were a few other options the green guys quoted you that aren't on the orange quote. You don't have to buy the green implements, however they will work better with the optional (but convenient) I-Match hitch.

Just one thought on the topic of heating shops. If you have any machine tools, the warming/cooling cycles tend to give you a condensation problem to contend with. I like infrared over the areas I work in. You can get them pretty cheap from Enco, less so from Graingers.

Blue, first let me say everyone who has responded here has given you very good advice. My wife, too, is the all time champ on negotiating prices for almost all of my purchases. However, she does so after I narrow the range of what to buy and how it is equipped. One slightly different opinion, you may be interested in looking at a small diesel skid steer unit, especially for mucking. They take a wide range of quick attach implements, can make right angle and zero radius turns (great for stalls and corrals), and with the wider tires work well in muddy paddocks. Most important, be yourself, be honest with the dealer, and be educated before you step out of the house. Good luck.

I also prefer Stihl products, but you are going to find Echo has fine products also. I have no idea of the use you will put this trimmer through, but some food for thought: if you trim all day or large areas, then look into a cycle bar unit with weight carrying harness. The off-the-shelf Home Depot types are O.K. for your small yards, but the last thing you want to do is lug one over acres, six to ten times a day (if you are a pro that's what you'll be doing). The larger units like Stihl have enough torque to drive saw blades, and heavy line heads that carry more line and are prone to break line less often. And for pete's sake, forget about the ones that have tillers, blowers, edgers, and such because in my experience, those features work best as separate dedicated units.
