Tough stuff to sort out. Without material handling, landscaping or digging chores it sounds like something fairly small would work best. I have a 24 pto hp tractor for two properties that total almost 4 acres and mow around 2 acres. Snow removal for one property plus a neighbour's is similar to your needs. I mow with a riding mower because it's faster than the tractor--the tractor takes too long to maneuver and would leave a lot of trimming. The tractor is heavy enough that it and its turfs don't do the lawn any good when it's a bit wet. However, I do have enough heavier work to keep the tractor busy and it is the right size for me.

My snow removal is on gravel and asphalt. I use a combination of 3ph blower and loader. I wouldn't want to be without either and the turf tires work fine on snow and ice without chains. However, many people prefer a front blower for those distances. They are expensive, require a mid-pto and replace a loader.

If you're particular about the lawn cut, many people prefer mid-mount mowers. They are expensive and also require a mid-pto. Most also are incompatible with a loader but swapping them isn't too big a deal. There are a few factory loaders and MMM's that are compatible. 4wd as well as HST are desirable for both snow removal and loader operations.

I've been offered a 4x2 Trail Gator with 15 hours on it. Price $5000. This is from a dealer. He took it in trade from a guy that changed his mind and wanted a 6x4. It has front and fender brush guards, receiver hitch and ball, floor mat...no bed liner.<br>

Sorry I can't be much help. I don't think I'd go into the job blind though. On different tractors the job can range from a fairly simple common sense thing to one that requires quite a bit of tear-down, special tools and a lot of parts to keep track of. I'd also want to make sure that parts that are likely to be needed are on-hand before starting the tear down. Parts orders from many manufacturers for compacts around this age are becoming difficult.

If your Yanmar is a N.A. model then there's some help and probably manuals available from Yanmar dealers. Yanmars can be suported from after-market sources as well. Wish I something more useful to say but I'd sure want a manual before starting tear down.

I sort of expect the answer from Mahindra will be that a float feature on the lift is available. If it has separate control valve handles like my Ford rather than a joy stick, the lift is put into float mode by gently pushing the control handle passed some resistance until it clicks into a detend position. The valve stays in that position when the handle is released. The lift circuit operates in float mode when the valve is in the detend position. Joysticks operate the same but there could be some confusion if the Kubota had a joystick and the Mahindra didn't.

There should be a solution because tractor manufacturers don't generally manufacture their own valves, and most valve manufacturers offer control valve sections with float as well as other special features. Anybody can just order a valve with as many control valve sections and different features as they need so it should be a problem for a tractor manufacture.

Climber,most any farm supply store, Tractor Supply, etc., will have a pto pump to suit your needs. Roller pumps are the least expensive, 50 - 75 bucks on up to what whatever you need. A small six roller pump will likely serve your needs for a small sprayer. Too much pressure or volume aren't a problem, you simply put a bypass line between the pump outlet and the valve for the spray system and return it to the pump intake line. I built a ten foot wide boom sprayer for the 4310. it also has a hand held nozzle for brush. I found a used liquid fertilizer tank off a junk John Deere corn planter it holds 70 gallon, that seemed about right, the tractor 3pt. handled it easily plus you have enough volume to last a while, I think I gave 10 bucks for that. The valve kit, nozzles, hose, etc, probably cost a 100 bucks. The saddle for the tank, three pt. frame, boom, etc. are all home made. I spray several miles of fencerows, the lawn for dandelions, etc. works fine. Hope this helps, Frank.

Yea, I see mountain lions, maybe once/5 years. Last time screaming like a banshee like she got one of our dogs. This was in the only remaining brush after a wildfire burned 1200 acres of habitat surrounding me. Then she walked across the draw 100 yards away like she owned the place...probably 150 lbs. or so!

John deere already has automated protypes. They have no cab or steering wheel. Just plug in the computer and away it goes. Most of the large farm tractor out in the mid west have a self steering system. You just have to watch everything else while it drives its self.

Can anyone tell me the correct fluid for the front axle and front wheel gearcases on an L225DT? They smell like heavy gear lube and that seems right to me but I was hoping someone could verify it. Also, I see fill/check and drain plugs on the gearcases but only a fill on the top and a drain on the bottom of the differential/axle. How do you know how much to put in? Thanks in advance.

This is what I made for my BX2230. Maybe $10 investment. Still waiting to shot blast and powdercoat it at work. Works just fine for moving around the empty car hauler or whatever.

Weights and chains aren't needed. Does a great job without, just have to remember to engage 4WD.
