I think that almost all loader valves have a float feature on the lift circuit. They are extremely useful--almost to the point of a necessity.

One of the early things you'll find when you start operating a tractor is that the loader goes up and down with the front wheels and opposite the rear wheels. If a loader is used to level uneven ground it's very difficult to 'ride' the lift control well enough to end up with a surface that's more level than the original--for inexperienced operators the surfaces often are less level. The bucket will gouge a divot when if the rear wheels go over a bump. They also will gouge at the bottom of a hill since the bucket gets to the hill before the front wheels. How do I know? It's because my used tractor had the valve with float connected to the bucket rather than lift when I got it. I made a few 'interesting' early jobs till I figured it out.

The same sort of thing applies to the 3ph but virtually none of them hold down-pressure. Implements float up and over rises and are held down only by their action and weight.

That's a pretty good description and sounds like a good job. It'll likely help somebody else.

For 'do it yourself' hose routing there are a bunch of rules in basic manuals but it's likely safe to assume that a kit installed by the instructions will produce acceptable routings. There are torque specs for hydraulic fittings (I don't know if the specs are for lubed or dry threads) but if they don't leak without sealer then it's a pretty good sign they're OK. The main thing is not too tight. Over-tightened ones leak and then there's nothing to be done except resort to sealer.

For either tape or liquid sealer, it's only applied to the upper third of threads to avoid having sealer material extend into the oil flow. Seem like you found that it takes two wrenches per fitting and thin ones help. I think I've resorted to vice grips but using proper tools always is better. Areas where there are o-rings should be inspected for burs etc. and the rings lubed before installation. The instructions may have mentioned these ideas.

I think a mini would be perfect for what you are trying to do. When you rent it spend the day practicing round holes,<br>
It will take a while but I think you will find it Ideal.<br>
I envision a custom radial cutting edge on a separate bucket<br>
for finish work.<br>
Ask these guys if it's possible. <br>
You may want to consider quick change attachment option and a few different<br>
bucket widths.<br>

I too grumble about the price per gallon we pay for LP in the little tanks and the fact that your shiny new tank dissapears forever at those tank swapping cages. Remember what you're handling, a high pressure, highly flammable substance. I used to handle lots of Anhydrous Ammonia, pumping it from tank to tank, etc. and have had some close calls. Anhydrous ammonia will not burn or explode, but it will kill you if you inhale enough of it by freezing your lungs, or blind you by getting a shot in your eyes, so even tho I growl about paying a zillion bucks a gallon for LP in the tiny tanks it just isn't worth the safety risk. Cheesehead, welcome to the world of compact tractors, the greatest old mans (or ladies) toy ever invented. Your choice will have to depend on how much more you will want to do than blow snow, if you're like the rest of us in time you'll want a loader, box scraper, rotary mower, backhoe, etc., etc. A smaller 20-25 hp. tractor will blow your snow, but if you plan on adding other attachments you should look at something in the 30-35 hp range. If you buy a amaller tractor with only the snowblower, I'd suggest checking the resale values of that size tractor and try to stay with a major brand that has a several long establihed dealerships in your areia such as John Deere, Case IH, Kubota, and shy away from the less popular imports. the majors will cost more but should you decide to trade up in a couple years you'll easily get the difference back. Ask the dealer for a demo before you buy any brand just to be sure you are comfortable with the ride, controls, ease of mounting attachments, etc., and above all, don't even consider a two wheel drive in any brand. I think that container width and lack of side doors would be a problem as well. His container is a half-length one but still a lot of space would have to be sacrificed to provide access from the back to the front.

I also used the 'temporary' tent solution for over five years now. It is a 25' x 14' structure designed for use in the arctic but with a covering that is more tolerant to sun light than those used in the arctic. The expected cover lives around here still are seven years so I'm having to look at getting rid of 'temporary' pretty soon. It wasn't exactly cheap but it did go up in an afternoon and has gone through all the high winds thrown at it loosing only a couple of grommets in a door.

I know CAT has a digital backhoe - you draw the excavation and send it in, and off it goes. Don't think it's for sale right now though....

WOW!...Right when you think you've heard it all.
With the way ALOT of different Vets speak of what the causes are and what the cures will be, there should not be an animal suffering anywhere anymore.
Dennis, I have a nine year old Golden Retreiver with hair as opposed to fur. As one can imagine, the fur mats, it clumps and it falls out at different times of the year, not too mention taking a month of sundays to dry out once wet. With the hair, my dog can go swimming in freshwater - Her name is Chelsea and is a "darky" ,- come out and be dried off virtually from one good shake...but the ears! She has had, as well as our previous three Goldens, ear problems and "allergies". We did the lamb, we did the rice, we did the...everything, until we recognized two things very apparently. One, she was not getting any better, and two, she was eating better than we were!
We finally ended up with the "tri-otic" fluid from the Vet. This actually seems to offer the best results yet, and affords old Chelsea...RELIEF! Every now and then , such as her annuals, the vet may decide to "irrigate" her ears, but by comparison to years ago, she is back on regular dog dry food, (other than sunday morning when she gets a couple of fried eggs topped on the kibble), and the occasional ear goop and draining, more for preventative maintenance than any thing else, and are wallets are seeing the "change" too. If you find something out that works for KoKo, please pass it along.

Although good comments have been made from both sides of the coin as to the validity of using 15w-40 oil in your B7100, I have been using Shell Rotella 15w-40 up here in New England with out any difficulties, Summer or Winter down to about -20F when I fire the girls up!
I had a B7100 for many years, ran fine on 10w30, and just as fine on Rot.15w40.

Hello Matt, You can't take my advice as an experienced operator, but I just bought my BX23 after much introspective debate regarding "do I need the backhoe?". Today I found out I do. In only a few hours I dug around two tree stumps (we're in the bark beetle infestation area) which quickly allowed a below-grade cut with a chain saw. I would have procrastinated for at least 4 months (or 4 years!) without the backhoe!!

Art said it best. Pretty much about the same, other than the HP's. A little taller, one size bigger tires, I think the rears are 13.6x16 turfs, if memory serves me...even the hood is the same size. Otherwise, you can still use the same cat3 imps on the 8200 as the 6200, and although there are many different size implements available, the two tractors really are not that dramatically different in size to warrant the ability for larger attachments.<br>

OK, I just jacked up the front end and can see clearly that there must be something missing. There is atleast 1/8" total clearance on the ID. .060 per side. Also looks like there should be a spacer or something behind it. I see where it has to be able to pivot now so I am assuming that when I make the bushing there should be some cleance. Anyone know if the bushing is a bronze? or what kind of metal??

If the darn snow would ever melt. I would stop asking all these questions and go buy the darn impliments.
The (HOHH) AKA CEO of house hold operations is eating up my impliment overtime money that is being aside each week.
Not spending it on unnecesary items but she is constinatly telling me she needs anouther hundred, today it was for the kids lunch accounts $150 to finish off the school year!
I am starting to wonder where she got the money for these things all year long, untill now (that I am saving for the impliments) she has done just fine without too much help. Guess the kids are going to have to cut back on food so I can buy my toys!!! I bet that one gets ousted from the board meeting if I suggest that!!! LOL

Welcome to tractor point rkleypas! $11,900 is a very good price for the 4300. If I would let the owner have his dealer check out the leak if he volunteered to do this. Might want to ask the dealer mechanic what he thinks of the machine. This is a first year model so be sure all the PIP's (product improvement program) modifications have been properly done. If you plan to use the machine to cut grass; make sure the front axle PIP has been applied. (earlier front axles had a tendency to tear up turf do to the steering geometry of the axle) The leak may be nothing to worry about by then again it could be more serious. Best to let him check it out. Test demo the tractor for at least 20 to 30 minutes to get it up to full operating temp (at full pto rpm with an implement such as a mower or cutter if possible). This should identify any other leaks or mechanical issues. If all is in order; looks like you have a good deal on your hands.
