I just bought a 1630 with 231 hours and the price was 12K. A new frontend loader was a $3500 option. The date of manufacture is located on a tag attached to the transmission on the left side of the tractor. Under the title of UNIT. The first number is the last digit of the year.The second is a letter for the month,e.g. E=May,F=June,G=July.

Dan, according to Farm Equipment Guide average auction price for this tractor is $8057 add about 2 to 3K for the loader and 3 to 4K for backhoe for $13000 low side and $15000 high side. Also note that auction prices vary from $7235 to $8714. <br>Hope this helps.<br>

The main reason for the weight differences are in the construction. The NH, Cub and JD 70 & 4000 series are made from solid castings bolted together. The JD 55 series and smaller Kubotas I've looked at are built on a steel frame like a garden tractor, so that makes them lighter than the casting design. I'm not sure about how the 2710 is made.

I just spent the day removing an old sidewalk with my 4100 loader. With each heavy section of cement that I removed, I drove for about 2 to 4 min. and then dumped it. The bucket never sagged. I also had a 450 lb. tiller hooked to the back for ballast. That never sagged either. Either I am lucky or you have a defective unit.

Follow the larger of the 2 lines from the hydraulic pump ( right front of engine ) back to where it attaches to the trans. housing. Remove the 3 bolts from the plate the line attaches to & remove plate. Pickup screen is behind plate .( long round )If you need more info feel free to contact me.

i bought a 6 ft woods finish mower abuot 5 years ago and it is about 20 years old now. i paid 300 for it have replaced 2 of the three spindles and one belt however i mow 2 acres of lawn and misc brush hogging in the other areas on my land. i think 1500 is alittle high for this unit . woods is easy to fix and easy to get parts for

In have owned a 750 for years, It is a solid, dependable unit. You must keep it clean and it will last for years. I became interested in it because I stopped at the factory and saw how it was made. very well put together. It is also more reasonably priced than a Vicon. I got mine 8 years ago for around $750.00. There are some adjustments to make when you spread different types of material. but all in all it is a great unit.

I have a B7200 Hst and need an air filter for it. I have been mowing out in the timber and the dust is really bad. I would like to get several filters so I can change them out without going back to the house. Does anyone know where I can buy them at a fairly reasonable price? I'm sure there are after market filters that are adequate.

I bought a Ford 1900 about three years ago with a loader attached. It had only 450 hours on it and looked brand new(no oil leaks or broken links etc. and I was told it was only used for mowing and snow removal and then only occassionally. The guy wanted 9500 for it which I thought was too high. But I looked around a bit and realized that out here they get 6000 plus for similar tractors with many more hours on the meter and which are in questionalbe condition. Of course you alway take a chance on hidden defects no matter how nice a tractor looks. Well, I bought it and have never been sorry. The one thing that worries me about the tractor you are looking at is the number of hours on the engine. Diesels are usually good up to 5000 hrs til an overhaul. For just around the house it might be a good deal since the tractor itself is build like a tank and should last forever. I dont know the price of a diesel overhaul but you might still be ahead of the game. One point of warning. If you are going to use a rotary cutter with this tractor you MUST replace the pins that hold the lower lift arms to the body of the tractor. These pins will fail when mowing saplings and the mower is free to contact the rear tire when turning. The mower climed the rear tires bringing the blade within inches of my back. Replace the pins with the strongest strength bolts secured with lock nuts and cotter pins and check them every time before mowing. <br>

Often when selling these cute little tractors there are several things that haven't been brought up in these conversations. I-H introduced hydro tractors in the 60's although many were sold to operators under the wrong pretense's there are still many out working in the field today turfman is definitly right on with that statement. Lets talk learning curves, which do you think you could become most proficient at the soonest, how about a son or neighbor, or wife, or grand child. Lets be real, on the most of these tractors sold to a home owner the average hours for mowing and driveway cleaning is approximatly 50 to 75 hours a year. That gives you roughly 1500 hours in 20 years. Whats the easiest to sell? Hydros because they are the easiest to use. Something else that hasen't been brought up is the fact that on hills as long as you are not on cruise you actually have a dead man petal and the tractor will stop. Being on both sides I've seen far more clutch jobs go thru my shops than I have hydro rebuilds. Another point is the hydro gives more freedom of speed with less effort. No shifting required. But it still is Your decision and preference after all it is your money.
