It is no different to the green material. Antifreeze has a limited life as the alcohols will dissolve metals and other contaminates out of the system. The antioxidants, rust inhibitors, lubricants etc break down over time and need to be replaced. The flourescent dyes are added to trace for small leaks.
I have bought some of the cheaper generic antifreeze with the pink dye.
Dennis if you have not replaced the antifreeze it is about time anyway. I am looking at the Dodge the same way.
You need the mixed metals antifreeze and ideally distilled H2O.

Remove the control valve from the tractor and test it on a bench with compressed air. This will help remove any left over debris from the valve. Make sure all the work and power ports are clear of any left over debris and are clear. Drain the case of fluid and replace the filters. As Art said, those filings in your system are deadly to the hyraulic system and the hyro main and slave pump. If the valve ports are all clear, could be a problem with the hitch lowering speed adjustment (assuming the 7100 has one). First make sure it isn't full closed. If the valve was "frozen", good possibily your lowering control is in the same shape. Remove the shaft from the case and assure there isn't a similar build up blocking fluid from escaping the piston. Once you are sure you have cleared and cleaned the unit, put in fresh fluid and filters and try again. The lowering control should move freely.

Thanks for the info, I thought it was pull type (pulled from the drawbar) but either way looks like it would work a lot better than a regular three point grader blade. I have an Allis Chalmers D17 with a 8 foot grader blade that my Dad and I made a snap coupler tounge for works o.k. You know how ever time the tractor goes in a hole or over a hump the grader blade does the opposite, kind of a pain in the ass.

Some people have reported that the addition of aftermarket thumbs to Kubota backhoes has voided the factory warranty. If a thumb is important to you and Kubota doesn't have a factory offering this may be something to consider.

That is a good point Murf! I was thinking that was a mighty heavy trailer. I am not a horse person so I was thinking it was one of those big show horse trailers with the A/C and camper section built into it.

Yes, I did change the air and fuel filters. I'm running Rotella Oil, which I really like, both in the tractors and Gator, as well as in my PowerStroke.

After DRankin's and Peters' suggestions yesterday, I went out and bought some good cetane booster, and really loaded it up, to about 4X, and ran it around a bit.

I will say that this morning, it started much easier, and hopefully the improvement will continue as the system gets cleaned out. This tank should make a real difference, and if it does, I'll cut it back to 2-3X for the future.

I really appreciate the suggestions.

As someone who once believed in Sun Microsystems, I am wondering if anyone out there in TractorPoint land has installed Sun's Java Desktop.<br>

Funny thing is that last week I was creating a presentation and my XP system was locking up not letting me save the powerpoint to the file system. (I still have this problem with Outlook for attachments). So I downloaded Sun's Star Office eval software. It actully is pretty good, so much so I really don' t care if I get MS office up again.<br>

If you know which wire is dead, it is sometimes less grief to just use that wire as a 'fish' to pull a NEW wire into place.

Chasing problems can sometimes take up a lot of time & alcohol. ;->

I would really like to buy a JD or NH but I can't find a dealer that will give me a price any where near that. I kind of use a guide of 80% of list as a reasonable purchase price, but I can't find anyone that is will to negotiate on the American name tractors.
