This is my first post in probably a year due to some medical challenges that I've had and overcome, so glad to be back. I currently have a 4300 and a 4310, but have just traded the 4300 for a 4410. Both are 12/12 reversers with R4's, mid PTO's and 430 loaders. Your questions about the loader buckets, one loader has the heavy duty bucket and the other has the Deere 4 way bucket, the 4 way does a great job of gathering and carrying brush away, but you must have the 3're hyd. valve to operate the clam of the bucket. I've had a 48 hoe on the 4300 that will now be on the 4410. I've really never saw a # 47 hoe, so I can't make any comments about it, but the #48 has been a great machine, easy to mount, the controls match a full size Deere hoe, so it's an easy machine to use and will do an amazing amount of work for it's size. Have had very few problems with the tractors or attachments, and dealer service has been super. One other item of note, Deere now offers a canopy kit that mounts on the tall ROPS, their dealer literature doesn't mention it but on their website it shows it as an option, I ordered one with the 4410 being I've never had much luck with umbrellas, so time will tell how that works out, thanks, Frank.

Ken, thanks for the compliment about IBM - I have worked there for 25 years. I have seen all sides of this - when IBM was fat with too many employees - and now where we cut people every day and still send jobs to India even when we are profitable. Big companies are like big ships. They turn slowly and then don't stop until they have over corrected - now we can't seem to stop reducing cost. Hopefully the reductions don't affect product quality.

55 HP, 4100 pound, 18 MPH, I don't see CUT in this. My dad and me farmed 22 acres of tillable land with a Farmall super A. Which he bought new it 49, we plowed, disc, and planted and cultivated with that tractor! And we called this a tractor. Man, have the times changed. Dad's gone to the grave at 88 year young, the tractor gone to a new owner. Sorry guys for getting a little tiery eyed, but shit, 55 diesel hp 4 wheel drive should really be able to do some farmin! Got to love them old city farmers.

Murf was right on the money, I pulled the 3 nuts and the flange was just held on by suction of the grease behind it, came right off. Everything stayed where it shoulda, and I brought the part in to work on.

There wasn't enough metal left to try to re-tap it, and the tolerance behind the grease fitting was so tight that I opted to epoxy. Went to town and picked up some JBWeld, did it up yesterday and it's back on the tractor ready for tonight's storm.

Thanks AGAIN to everyone who poured out information on this, all of which either helped in the process... or will someday!

Code3, it was unfortunate that you had such a rude experience, especially from a multi-national manufacturer of excellent reputation. You neglected to tell us what you did about it other than your post here. I think that your expectation that someone from NH corporate would be reading your post here is, at best, naive. Did you get the names of the NH staff? Every exhibitor must have a registration number or identification number. I'm sure the people who sponsor and run the event would be very grateful to know about your experience. A letter to your local newspaper editor is a good place to have your experience aired. With the names of the NH staff in hand (from the organizers of the show), an e-mail to NH would be in order. If you let these guys do this to you, they'll keep doing it to other people. Your outrage was shared here, how about placing it where it will do some good. I think your motives for sharing this with us were genuine, but there is nothing wrong with taking the fight to their doorstep. You may get a cold shoulder, or an appology, but most important is I doubt these clowns will get another chance to be rude to someone else.

I've seen it done. The problem is that unless the ground is EXTREEMELY flat it doesn't work very well.

On a 4-wheel FMM the deck is mounted REALLY close to the front wheels of the chassis and it 'crab-steers' (back wheels turn, not front) and it is a short wheelbase. This means there is only limited flex required in the driveshaft, and the relationship between the chassis and the deck never varies to an extreme degree.

If you mount a FMM deck in front of a CUT the slightest rise or fall in the ground will make a BIG bend in the driveline. Also, because a CUT is front wheel steering when you tiurned a corner there would be a big arc on the inside which was driven over but not yet cut. The other problem is the length of drive-shaft that would be required and the speed it would be spinning, it would rquire carrier bearings to prevent some serious whip.

There are many good reasons why nobody builds a FMM for a CUT, this is just some of them. A MMM is the best you're going to get for overall advantages cutting with a CUT.

This trend is in tractors as well as computers. JD is now manufacturing the 5003 series tractor in India. They can ship the tractor here and still sell it for 3 to 4 thousand less than the basic same tractor made in Mexico or the USA. The sad part is by purchasing these tractors, American workers are losing jobs. The question is....What do we do about it? Lower prices for goods is what drives the market and EVERYONE wants lower priced goods. So when you purchase these overseas made products you put US workers out of a job, which leaves less (US$) income to be spent to buy US made products which we are tring to sell. It's a downward spiral. Where does it stop? I don't know the answer. I do believe if the unions would come to their senses and stop tring to make US companies pay US workers $30 - $40 per hour, US made products could be produced for less and in return be priced more competetive in the market, therefore increasing the amount of US made products sold and therefore increasing the demand for US jobs. Does this make sense to anyone else?

I have acquired a Duerr Chipper/675. It is missing a couple of parts that I believe can either be purchased or fabricated. My problem is that I don't even know what a complete machine looks like. Can you scan a picture in and send it to me. It has a 5 hp Brings & Stratton motor that runs quite well. The parts are the side feed hopper and the discharge chute.

Just remember that if the bucket doesn't give when you run into something the shock will be transferred elsewhere. Hit hard enough and something is bound to give. If you're lucky it will just be a hydraulic cylinder seal, if you're not you might bend or break something really expensive. It's always best to avoid running into stuff :)

You need to give more info, like about how big a tractor your looking for, if you want 3pt. mower, or what area of the country you are in, and Yanmar only makes diesals.

woods makes an entire series just for the Kubota bx series. To deal with its low 3pt lift height. They also built a loader for it. There the same quality as the big stuff, just scaled down alittle.

I read your post on Dieselram.com and I am a little confused. Just wanted to make sure we are talking apples and apples. Does your truck have the 47RE or 48RE transmission? Is the engine the ISBe or ISB engine? (i.e. does the engine have the common rail fuel injection system or the VP44 injection pump?) Don't let the deal do any more reflashes. Most of the techs have no idea what they are doing and screw it up. I would strongly suggest you join TDR and post your problems with the truck there. I am betting the many smart folks over there will have an effective and productive answer for you.
