I've have a 2003 2500HD 6.0L 4.10 gears, crew cab since April 2003. The best milage I've gotten is on a 10 hour trip. Freeway driving was 13.5 to 13.9.mpg I had a light load at the time and 70-75 mph. At home in my costruction use its in the 12 mpg range consistently.

It has been awhile since I posted, I am glad to be back! My question is, I have a 2002 TC29D with 135 hours and a 60" MMM. I need to know what I might expect to recieve for it both on a trade or a private party sale? I am looking into buying a new TC35 or TC40 w/FEL.<br>

wildbill- you have good, solid feelings towards that issue, I do as well. Obviously your engineering experience has probably seen more change than most of us. My dad started in airplanes and did last 20 years in aerospace. He's been retired since 1984 or so. Not sure when you were in or if you still are but I do know that during the 60's and early 70's, being the son of an aerospace engineer was pretty great. I remember him bringing home small pieces of solid propellant. How good is that? Those were some boomin' times. I also am not afraid to step up and pay for the good stuff. I do not immediately know what that is sometimes though and that's when I engage the "research mode". I'll know all about the issue that seems important to me at the time, make a calculated and logical decision, then move on to something completely different and start all over again. Again, good luck to you. Sounds like you'll do the right thing for sure.

Chuck T- I have set my digi-cam for the best quality photos it can produce. It's a decent machine, was a couple years ago anyway. My intentions were to be able to crop sections from pictures and enlarge without loss of detail. BUT NOW.. these jumbo resolution pics are starting to cause me some difficulty. My folks have a dial-up connection and when I send just one picture it smokes their gear. Tonight I am looking into a compromise of sorts for my future picture taking. The reason the picture is only about 30% is because the file is too damn big. I will adjust and comply.

Some dealers won't sell a tractor with loader without filling the tires. Heck, you may need ballast just to put the loader on the tractor and drive safely even with an empty bucket. The loader can weigh quite a bit. There are less expensive ways to add weight though. You might check out EZ-weights (see link). They have gotten good reviews here and just use weightlifting weights that you can buy used a lot cheaper than buying weights from the dealer. Make sure you get your ballast with the tractor though. You will probably use the loader right away for something, and without ballast of some sort it will be unsafe.<br>

As far as your R1 issue, the more expensive tires may have deeper lugs which will give you a bit better wear and better traction in snow or mud. But if they are 6-ply they will be quite stiff and give you a poor ride and the stiffness will reduce traction some in some soil conditions on rough ground. Not sure what the net traction issue is. You might check the rims that come with each size tire - one type may have adjustable rims that would allow you to set the width wider for better stability. If your land is flat that probably isn't a big issue. The wider tires will reduce earth compaction a bit since they have a bigger footprint. If it were me and budget were an issue I'd probably go with the standard R1s.

Hi, JDGreen. We must have posted almost simultaneously. I had this very concern and learned through a conversation with a corporate JD tech on the phone that the glow plugs cannot be "held" in the heating position with the ignition switch. He did say that you could burn them up by quickly repeating the procedure many times over. I wrote above that the plugs only heat for 1-2 seconds, but it's probably more like 2-4 seconds. It works but seems kinda' like an engineering after-thought or work-around. Pete

Hey Bliz, thanks for keeping me going -- I'm feeling like a high-maintenance item lately!

The wheels are reversible, but I'd only pick up 1/3 inch on the centerline according to the manual; don't know whether that translates to anything more on the inside or not.

I'm gonna try moving the hitch pins in the remaining 1/2 inch on each side instead, and hope that gets me just enough. If not, I'll take off the blower and flip the pins, unless somebody pipes up that it's a bad idea.

I'll take your suggestion and wire the excess chain up for now -- who knows, once I figure out the real situation here I might even have enough to make up a couple of cross bars!

I gotta say, they really are more chain than I was expecting, and I mean that in a positive way. Man, these things are industrial strength.

I had a problem with a 1230 loader and the dealer said "well those a made in the USA" like that took away the quality of it . My question is this if Kioti puts their name on it isn't it then theirs? So who made the loader becomes a mute point does it not.

Is a rear hydraulic valve that important? How and what would you have a use for it for? Is it worth $195 installed, or will I be able to use (disconect )one of the existing rear valves for the few times I may need it?<br>

When retracted I like my hydraulic link the same length as the fixed link.
That way when I retractor the hydraulic cylinder I know the implement is level.(No quessing)
I have the hydraulic link on one side and the adjustable link on the other.
I can only tilt one way using the hydraulics, but I very seldom need to tilt both ways. If tilting to the other side is nessasary I can use the adjustable link.

What does the TCC system do operationally that is different than Top-And-Tilt? Under the "key benefits" section of the Integration Engineering link I didn't see any major operator advantages over TnT. It might well be a great product, but this a name like "Terrain Countour Control" I'd think it would offer some automatic functionality which I didn't see there.

The studs you are referring to must be the sheet metal screw type.

Standard automotive ice studs would not cause problems like that.

Thanks for the help, do you know what the cross is for the Ford - NH tractor, I could look up the filter if I had a model to use.. Either way any information would be great. PS. I was thinking of pulling a 5' finish mower with it, will it handle it??

ncrunch take a look at the plastic cover the 3ph lever slides in. Loosen the 2 bolts that hold it and rap it with your palm to the rear.

When dealing with the little distance that is there provided the dealer got the adjustments right. you are only talking about a 1/16 or so more of travel with the lever. That is in the cover plate easy. The other trick to get just a tad more lift is to push down on your lever as you push it to the rear.

It seems like no matter how many times I have it on or off it will pick just a tad different each time.
