I have JD OEM Top-N-Tilt on my 4310 and haven't noticed any drift at all. However I must say with all the hills around here I adjust fairly often anyway.

I think the guy made the better choice already...besides tax's ( no control over) which depending on where you live you can buy out of state, the price of the tiller is $2200 with hitch. <br>
And I know what the blower and hitch cost since I have them (around $2200)..never thought about the blade but its much less..as for a tiller choice it will be a 3pt for my 4100<br>

Have not read the whole post to see if you got the engine to start. If not did you check the gap between the flywheel and the coil? The drop could have let the flywheel hit the coil and move it out of range?

Generally speaking, the average user would never wear one out in a life-time. It is usually only hard commercial service that does them in.

As for sourcing them out, I would suggest you talk to the guys in the shop at your local municipality,since road graders and snowplows are hard on cutting edges and they will know where to get them.

I think that Corriher Implement sells the same Midwest blades with the same model number. There has been a lot of positive feedback on this site about Corriher(at least for tractors). I like that there are no tools required to offset the blade.

shortmagnum, in all respect for your position (and I agree with a good bit of it); I think you are a little out of touch about what goes on with kids at school nowadays.

Gone are the days of kids settling things themselves with just themselves. Now they use guns, knives, and other weapons. Gangs are prevailent in many areas and unless you want to start a war (which I have on an occasion or two); what you suggest is just not gonna work.

I teach my kids to avoid a fight if at all possible but defend themselves and do it with every bit of strength they possess. That having been said; I send them to school to learn and be educated NOT to fight.

My method is to contact the parents of these bullies and "explain the facts of life to them". Whether or not my child was victorious in the fight is irrelevant. I explain as politely as possible that I don't want any further confrontations or harrassment from their child. Should that not sink in; I explain that they will be explaining it to the judge. Barring success at this level; I very tactfully and politely explain to the father of the other child that we will be settling up issues in the same manor as the kids if they choose not to excersice their parental responsibility. This seems to have a reasonably productive and motivational influence on the errant father and our conversation.

I teach my kids to avoid violence and fighting. They also know they will get one heck of a Whoooopin' if they start a fight not in self defense. They also know there will be consequences if they let a bully get away with putting his/her hands on them without defending themselves. I made this VERY clear to the school board and principal. They changed the rules about fighting because of it and deleted the suspension for fighting for self defense at my request after I explain that self defense is one of the most basic human rights.

The school principals hold the nuclear weapon of student behavior compliance yet rarely have the courage or integrity to use it. It is call expulsion. When a child is expelled from a school; no other school in the area will accept them either. This forces the parents to either move to a school district that will accept them (which is nearly impossible) or pay to send their unruley child to a private school. In my opinion, after "3 strikes" (provided the other child was not seriously injured, no drugs, or weapons) this is a very reasonable, logical and effective option.

My kids are all A honor role students and I want them focusing on learning and developing their minds and values. We as parents and adults have a duty and responsiblity to ensue that ALL of our kis are focusing on that.

I suppose it depends on the implements you have then. Longer bushings simply won't fit on my Rankin 3-point pallet forks because the bushings have to slide between two vertical support pieces. Similarly the top bushing on my box blade cannot be any longer and I've heard of guys having to cut the longer bushings down to fit. Longer lower bushings would work better on my chipper and the box blade though. It would probably be best to have some of each on hand and use the appropriate length for the job.

Not to get too far off topic, but I can average 7+ knots in a fast racing kayak for an hour, so be sure that radar is running. I'd hate to run you over! (Although I'm probably getting cooked. I'll start wrapping my head in tinfoil).

The L-3710 did offer a factory cab as an option. Just the tractor alone had a retail of 26000 so it is possible if it had the factory cab to actually have had a retail price for the package of being in excess of the 30,000. If it does have the factory cab it probably does have the defroster package and some added lites because of his work. In another post here JD deducts about 20 to 30 dollars per hour for a trade on there equipment which is a little high at the 30 dollar range but they know what they are worth but at 24000 it might not be to bad of a deal but if the tractor is not the right one for you it might be better to use the financing programs to reduce the payments on a new vs the used.

This may be the unpopular answer but your 1/2 ton pulling a tandem trailer, with or without trailer brakes, will be fine for a one time highway trip.
I once put 3000lbs of patio stone in a 2000lbs single axle trailer, behind my Jeep Cherokee for 60 miles. I wouldnt recommend that to anyone, but you will be fine with your full size truck and a tandem axle trailer.
Just take your time, leave lots of braking room, pay special attention to whats going on around you and it will work just fine.
If you go to Uhaul for a trailer, dont tell them what you are hauling. They will probably not want you to haul a tractor on it, I dont know the reason for this stupidity but Ive heard of people having this problem with them.

If you still need a hydraulic pump, i have the newer and older style hydraulic pumps brand new. I got them as part of a packaged deal from a tractor dealer that was going out of business and did not know they where with the other items he sold me. I will sell them for a much more reasonable price than from a dealer. One is part #67475-00101 and is for Serial number 630-00135 and below, 630D-50110 and below. The other pump i have is part #69477-00200 and is for serial # 630-00136 and above and 630D-50111 and above and i have them both. e-mail me if you are still interested.

Stevesk JUST A THOUGHT HERE! If you limb out the tops at 2-3" and leave them, you will not know the limbs are there in 2 years. Cut the rest up for fire wood or sell the rest to a firewood cutter and have him limb out to you spec. Generally there are a few tree top fire wood guys out there.

But if you have had all the tops dragged to a landing already a chipper will probably work best.

I have a 4 n 1 bucket on my 4310 E-Hydro. The only problem I have experience is that I wore down the cutting edge and the only solution I am told is to cut off the edge and reweld it. I think someone must sell a bolt on edge or has a better idea.

As for how it works, well I love it. I can lower the bucket over just about anything and grab it and lift. I tore some brush that was well rooted right out of the ground. It would have taken hours to do it by hand. I lowered the bucket, opened the clam shell, grabbed the brush and pulled everything out by the roots. I was working on a fairly nice house and this made the whole process of removing and replanting much quicker in a fairly tight situation.

My neighbor borrowed my tractor and moved large rocks he used to make a waterfall. I don't know how heavy they were, but they looked fairly large.

Also, I hauled large rounds of firewood by opening the clam and simply grabbing them, then lifing them into a pickup. Sure made the whole process much easier. The grip on the item seemed fairly strong.
