Looked at Kub today. I like the Bx2230 better than the Deere 2210. I also looked at the Bx23. I liked the idea of the BH. I was quoted $12900 for a 2300 with FEL and 60" MMM. The BX23 was $16000 plus an additional $1700 for the MMM. I was told that R4s are not available for the Kubs, and I'm not sure I want AGs. The dealer told me he sold 40 BX2230s last year, so I guess that explains the pricing.
The 4110 seems to be the most aggressively priced tractor, with 0% financing. Certainly has the best hydraulics. It's a little bigger than I originally thought I wanted, but not excessive. Hmmmm
I can't find any info on a BH for the 4110. It exists, correct?

Please help with tractor size question

P.S. When I bought the tractor I was told it is the same as a Ford 1700.

Thanks for all the feedback. Art, would your recommendation be that when running at PTO speed to use the clutch to change directions, say ,if I'm mowing with the machine?
On the GST, the clutch doesn't disengage the PTO, so I won't disengage the mower.

I'm looking to purchase a rear 72" , rear discharge finish mower. I've researched Bush Hog, Howse, Woods, Land Pride, King Kutter,and Buhl and I would appreciated any positive or negative experiences owning the above mentioned brands.

Sleeve measurements are 6-8" wide by 2.5-4.5' in depth. so you can see that the holes are much bigger for play, but mainly for a large cement base. i just want to keep holes looking nice for cosmetic purposes.

JDF415, Thanks for the info. The serial# is M00970B161049, so it is a synchronized transmission. I just told the dealer today I would take it. He is doing a full service on it and replacing the broken plastic nose cone for another $329. I have seen many other JD970's on MachineFinder, TraderOnline and Equipment-Locator and they seem to average about $12,000 without the backhoe. So I feel like I am getting the backhoe almost for free. I could not find any decent size compacts with a backhoe for under $14,000. The Kubota dealer was trying to talk me into a BX23 for ~$15,000 but it just looks way to small for my needs. Anything new comparable to the 970 with backhoe was more than $19,000. That seemed like to much for a part time chrismas tree farmer, so hopefully I will be happy as a Deere man. Will load pictures after I get the tractor this weekend.

Yeah Chief, I'm far away from Delaware. The strain of Avian Influenza that was just found in DE is not the one (H5N1) that affects humans. The outbreak in DE is called H7 but any farm testing positive, all birds will be destroyed.

This stuff crops up, in the US, every so often.

I would appreciate a little more respect for WV. If you have issues with another member, take it up with the member and not the state he lives in. As far as pulling a gun in a parking lot in WV, yes there are certain parts of WV you would probably be better off keeping your weapon holstered as about half the parking lot or better have rifles in their trucks and would not bother them in the least to take someone out. That is only select places in WV. You point a gun at one person and there would probably be about 10 or 15 pointed back at you. Other than the WV comment your masterpiece had good content.
The only thing that concerns me over CCW is someone who is not properly trained. Number one, don't ever draw your weapon unless you plan on using it if necessary (in other words if you can't shoot someone then leave it at home). Law enforcement or retired officers carrying is one thing because most have been trained how to be restrained and not stuff a gun in someone's face because they cut you off or said something out of the way. A lot of hotheads out there may choose the wrong time to display their weapon and feel they may need to go further than necessary. I've been wanting to get a CCW permit but the wife is deadset against it.

On top of the rearend housing there are two pipes 1/4 in. I'd guess that are attatched to a block that both hoses come from.

My wish is that I could mount a control valve somewhere within reach and use a hydro ram for a top link to adjust box blade while grading. I also have built a 3 pt hitch box out of a lawn mower wagon that would dump nicely if this ram idea pans out.

4wd also is safer when operating on slopes.

Modern hydraulics are different than on the 8N's. I'm no expert and don't know why the blade dropped. I thought 8N's had live hydraulics but maybe not. Early Ford pumps were driven off the pto so the pump quit when the TX was clutched or the pto disengaged. That is, if there wasn't something like a mower running on the 3ph. That same mower that also used to drive 8N's forward when they were clutched also is mostly a thing of the past. It doesn't happen with live pto's and most TX driven pto's now have built in over-running clutches.

Live pto on a gear tractor usually means it has a two-stage clutch. Depress it part way and the TX disengages. The rest of the way disengages the pto as well. That might be a useful option to consider if it's available.

Two-speed rear pto's are found mostly in tractors that also are marketed outside N.A. There are some 1000 rpm implements around but they're more common outside N.A.

Them rating's seem to be out landish, It will do it fairly well if your trip is on fairly flat road, but start hittin the hill's and your going to have to start running it harder then you want to. the Auto trans will need to be down shifted or used in (tow haul)as shifting in and out will be non stop, then milage starts suffering big time. After 3 or 4 200 mile trips like that in my half ton 350 I went to the deisel and problems vanished. now I can haul a lot more and get better milage.

I'm pretty sure that this exact problem was discussed and it should be in the archives. I'll see if I can remember more about it if you can't find the discussion. I seem to recall that it was a Shibaura but I'm not absolutely certain.

Haven't ordered arm rests, but did order PBY and worklights to mount on ROPS (like yours).

I'll wait until I have survived the PBY installation before ordering more stuff.
