I did not get the quick attach on my FEL, For one, the dealer never offered and two, I didn't think of it till later, But to be honest, the only other FE attachment I may ever use is a bale spear ( Although I doubt it, I think I would use 3pt on my smaller tractor ) I looked at and asked about the whole FEL assembly and saw how easy that was to drop the whole FEL for when I am mowing or concerned with manuvering, so for me it just was not worth it, I may live to regret it someday, but for now I just don't forsee ANY use in my future.

Thanks, I keep telling myself that the 8n is only 2500 pounds!!! That really is not a lot of weight. Maybe I am making more of a deal of this than it will be. I remember when I was young the things I hauled behind my little ranger, WOW stupid and young, and now I think I am getting too soft and old, LOL
Thanks for the tip, I will look into other rentals other than u-haul. I need to clean up the old ford, paint her up and sell her to some yuppy in Il. with a hobby farm.
Sounds bad, but these old tractors still bring a good dollar in the right market.

Take a look at the CCM Hydraulic Toplink Cylinders. They have the check valves so the setting will stay where you put it. If you purchase a Hydraulic Cylinder without the check valve you will be constantly adjusting the cylinder because of the valve drift and bleed by.
The proper one for your tractor is 18-26", # 6003, $170, hose kit with male couplers $30.

I am not real familiar with the 2360 but remember Long does not manufacture tractors, they only import them... The 2360 is "entry level" tractor. I think it is a UT. I have owned a Farm Trac 60 for six years and have had no problems.. I am pretty rough on it but perform maintenance according to the schedule or ahead of schedule...

If you plan on building a pond, tilling and following with the FEL would take up a considerable amount of time in most soil conditions. You would be taking a few inches at a time. Do you have rocky or gravely soil?
How many acres of grass are you planning on mowing?

If you are looking for an open deck with a shuttle shift, you might want to look at the Lenar. I have heard a lot of setbacks in self-importing, if everything goes perfect it might be OK, but odds are against you and you have no control over the numerous problems that can occur. Is it worth it for one tractor? You can buy Jinma crate tractors from numerous dealers in the US. Best wishes in whatever you do!!

To just get people to vote is one thing..getting them to THINK is another thing. You sure can't listen to the garbage the candidates spew forth to decide which one to vote for, you gotta scrutinize their records. Look at the hero, Kerry, as an example. He's been on the wrong side of nearly every issue in his career. And he vents about taking the country back? To what?? 8 more years of Clintonism??

I wonder sometimes if it comes down to what day of the week and at what plant the engine or garden tractor was made. 7 Years ago I purchased an MTD Yardman 15.5 Horse 42" deck with 4 wheel steering ( Pretty cool actually, When you turn the front wheels go one way the rear wheels the other. ) Have used it for mowing, Aerating, dethaching and other yard issues all summer long for the last 7 years, Only changed the oil twice and other then putting gas into it, I have done a thing maitenance wise to it. She run like a champ. The only times I have had an issue is when I didn't put it in the shed at night and we ended getting a rain shower and then she sat for a day or two. Was a little slow to start. But even then just had the turn the key twice instead of once. I think for every good comment about a piece of equipment you are going to find bad ones as well, Whether it be a manufacutre defect, a bad model year or just mis-use

I just checked the sales manual specs, nd the 4110 specs you have are correct. The 2210 is listed as 750 pounds on the front axle and 2426 on the rear. I hope that clears it up for you.

I agree with AC5ZO, but also the creature comforts of each. Think about what you are going to be using the tractor for and where controls are. I have not looked at the L series, but the NH for me had the seat that elevated as it went back giving more leg room, Had a swivel and Lock seat 1- and 20 Degree angles ( Sure is more comfortable when doing back implement work ) I liked the FEL control location. They are little things, but when thinking about use over the next oh say 20 years, I wanted to be comfortable too.

My father bought my tractor because his name was on "our" tree farm. Just taking advantage of the laws in the great state of Ohio. Without the farm I would have never purchased a new tractor, so I guess it's fair. I'ts the groceries, computer, lawn and garden eqipment, blue jeans, furmiture, Ect., that might be a stretch for farm use.

I am looking for a BX2230 with FEL, 60MMM and rear catcher, the best quote I have been able to get so far is $14,000 and the dealer will throw in a set of real wheel weights and a grill guard. It sounds good to me but I wanted to see if anyone has something better. I live in Central Pa?

There are a couple questions that go with this $400 deal. Will the dealer 60 mile away come and pick up the tractor for warranty work free of charge? Will the one 25 mile away do the same.
Which dealer do you like better? Looking at a $400 difference over a realationship with your dealer ( yes a relationship ) for the next 5, 10 20 years.
You can barter with the Local guy and tell him you can save $400 going to this guy, will he match it or Tell him, You are looking a buying from the other guy for the savings, but will be coming to him for your parts, supplies and warranty work. See if he is willing to work with you. Most will, Business in Business

I don't know if this will help but I can tell you how my grapple is hooked up. The 3rd SCV is used to control the grapple with the lines running down the right loader arm and the quick couplers are mounted at the end of the arm near the bucket. In your case you want the 3rd SCV to do double duty between the top-link and grapple. You can probably get a diverter valve to swap between those functions. I have an electric diverter that swaps the joystick between loader/curl and 3ph Top-N-Tilt functions. This was installed before delivery so I'm not sure how it all connects up.

$Having been an avid off-roader, the higher-end Warn, Ramsey, Superwinch etc. winches are rated for actual pull/lift, not "rolling loads" which can be a fraction of the rating. Boat winches however ARE rated for floating (rolling) loads. Wire rope cable is typically rated by a factor of 3 - 4 times LESS than it is advertised for safety. Typically what you are looking at is "working load" not "breaking strength" as there are many factors that could be represented by breaking strength--such as shock loads versus having a load hanging from it, say from a crane, and the like. Rather than go with a PTO drive why not use a hydraulic motor (used about $100-$300---get one off a wrecker/tow truck) powered off the rear remotes. Then you can get torque AND speed when you need it. There are hydraulic winches used on Jeeps that run off the power steering pump (Milemarker is one maker---I think they are in Florida). For cost savings you might want to consider using a type of winch used on ships called a "capstan". This is a drum that you wind the rope around a few times. As it rotates constantly you control how fast the line speed is by pulling on the free end (loose end) of the rope (friction causes the rope to wind). That way you don't need a take-up drum (which you can still do but it could be a non-powered reel instead). You can use as many feet of rope you can haul because it doesn't store on the capstan. The only downfall with capstans is there no direct braking of the rope unless you tie it off to something.$ 3 PT PTO driven winch
