Every state has different definitions of agriculture. Here in NY horse boarding is now agriculture so it works for me. If you say it's for farm use they will not charge you sales tax. Even thougth I bought one state over they were supposed to file some paperwork with NY for the tax free sale for farm use. I think they fotgot the form anywa.

The odds on someone calling you on it are probably very slim... and hey when you bought it you planned on farming right??? :) I din't see anything about a time frame :) :) I suppose if they called you on it they would make you pay the back sales tax and MAYBE a small penalty.

Let's face it, almost EVERYTIME you buy items (not clothes under a certain ammount) out of state and save on taxes your supposed to pay the difference in tax to your state. ANYONE ever do that voluntarily? This seems like it's along the same lines to me.

Hi guys.My handle last year was MEY. Thought wiggly might like another opinion. I started out last winter minus chains. The first big snow we had I had a rough time getting up over a short but fairly steep knuckle from the barn to my driveway. My kubota is equipped with R4's. So I got hold of a set of truck (big rig) tire chains with the v bars and cut them to length. What a difference that made! This year, before winter got here I added an extra crosslink between each of the existing ones to close the gap to 4-5 inches. The result is smoother ride and even better traction.....in snow and on ice. Not much problem getting up that knuckle now !

I'm trying to put lights on also - it's tough trying to move snow this winter in the pre-dawn hours. My 7800 has holes already drilled right near the top in the lower half of the folding ROPS, right on the front. That would put the lights below eye level when seated, any idea if that would be a problem with the location and possible glare? If you used those holes you could attach the lights with a simple L bracket and a nut and bolt.

With the standard alternator how much light can you put on with out taxing the battery? I was looking at a couple 50W lights in the Northern Tool catalog. Figured that would be about 8 amps load.

Denno,I also must agree with the ease of use with the HST. My Kubota B2410 has a FEL and I pull a 6ft. finish mower in grass season and a 6ft. scraper blade in snow season and I love the HST. I too operate full size backhoes,graders & loaders that use shuttle type trannies ,which are fine, but you can't beat the hydro on my tractor; especially for loader work. It's a lot easier inching in & out in precarious situations. Just thought you might like another opinion.

For mowing the bucket is often in the way. Instead of removing the loader every time I mow I just remove the bucket. Flip 2 levers and drop the bucket off.

Bow is the only way,for many reasons. I had been gun hunting for over 20 years before I started bow hunting about 12 or so years ago,now,in gun season,its a letdown,I just lean up against a fence post in the edge of my yard and watch across the hill for somebody to run one out,got a spike this gun season that way,not to exciting,compared to hoping that 12 point whould just take 10 more steps in my direction this bow season. Before I started bow hunting I had never seen two bucks fighting,or a buck mount a doe,[or almost],except on tv,never knew how much noise they made munching on acorns,and never spit on ones back. Going along with Tom's question about the regenerative circuits, it has to do with the pressure and fluid availability at the spool valve. Supposed to allow for better implement control. The regen cicuit is ported in the valve itself. There is actually a partial position in the valve for "regen", allowing precise but fast control with full load. Instead of the return fluid porting to exhaust, it is "regenerated" into the pressure circuit. Closed loop hydrostats are a continuous "regen" circuit between the pump and motor, with a slave pump to make up hydraulic losses. The slave pump uses reservoir oil to supplement fluid loss in the closed circuit.

it won't happen to your tractor. It has a real bucket on it. I think i sell this one and build one my self out of 1/4" cold rolled not the 3/16"(or less) hotroll this piece of junk bucket is made from. Or buy a john deere bucket and made a quick connect set up for the loader. I think this has cause me never to buy another kubota again. Like the name reads its got to be green or else.

If you want a garden tractor that will last 15 years blow the coins and get an Ingersoll. Basically same tractor Case made. Good ground clearance, large rear tires , a proven hydro drive and onan engines. The design has not been changed because it has stood the test of time.Plus its loaded with steel, drag a cub or JD around all day with it.

John Deere was in the bikini business for a short period of time, but closed that operation during the tough times over the past couple of years. It also seems that the cast iron used to make the bikinis was quite durable, but a little colder to wear than the cloth counterparts.

The JD tractor referred to above is a good one. If you want a NH (message posted on NH board) then the TC45D would be what you would want. This tractor will produce 45 HP and will be overkill on some jobs, but will be fully utilized on some of the others that you mentioned. I specify the D model because I am guessing that you would probably want a variable speed hydrostatic transmission rather than a gear transmission.

I expect that you will also need a front end loader, perhaps a box scraper and certainly a snow blower attachment.
