As Tom stated there are better tools for feild work then others. I use my box blade to groove the sod up well , after 2 passesd there will be several big patches cut out, but the groung is groove up well enuf to were the disk really cuts well and just turn it all in. a bottom plow turns the soil over deeper but is really no needed for a good plot.Most Farmers don't even use bottom plow's anymore. Bursh hoggin the weeds or grass down really low first really speeds the box blade work, but doesn't have to be done.

Shortmagnum's idea is right, a full 2 acre food plot is pretty large and sometimes smaller plots will concentrate deer better, So several smaller plots are sometimes better hunting setups. but if you have the area to do a full 2 acre's do it.The more perrferd food you have you the more deer you'll have, Inturn makeing you percentage higher for harvest.

I guess the light is on and the battery doesn't seem to be changing from the tractor. A simple test is that a voltmeter should measure 14-15V at the battery when the tractor is running at fair rpm. If the voltage is there, the battery should be getting a charge provided the ground is good. It does sound like the voltage is low but cleaning the terminals and chassis end of the ground cable might help.

The easiest way to sort out the alternator/regulator question is to work from procedures in a manual. Most procedures go step by step through testing voltage and current outputs and each regulator circuit if the outputs are wrong. Without a manual there's a tendency to go around and around in circles trying this and that. Most procedures do require a volt/amp meter and the ability to load the system to close to the alternator rating.

Most 3ph quadrant levers have an adjustable friction clutch to prevent the lever for jiggling down due to vibration. There's a good chance that tightening up the lever would fix it. For the oil leak, I'd check the level because it might be high. The tractor should be fairly level and all cylinders retracted.

I don't know the tractor but almost all compacts use a common transmission/differential and hydraulic reservoir so it's likely the same oil. I'd wait for the manuals or ask a dealer before doing much.

The set up I have planned would be: Power Beyond from the FEL to the inlet on the Aux Valve, Power Beyond from the Aux. Valve back to the Power Beyond on the tractor block. Both valves would exhaust with a tee to the return on the tractor. In other words, I would keep the regen. circuit in place with the aux valve in series with the FEL valve. Does this sound right to you? I believe by the time I get all the fittings to make this work, I'll have more left over that I started with. By the way, I was planning on a two spool set up for the aux., one would be a motoring spool to run a Hydraulic winch, the other would be a four-way for the top link. Anyone done this?

I don't know Kubota Australia's policy on imports but it might be good to check. Some manufacturers won't let their dealers service or even sell parts for imports--even if they sell the exact model.

Around here most everybody has roof-rakes to manage high snow load problems but it'd be better to build structures with higher load ratings. I use ours even on pitched roofs because the snow pack near the eaves is thicker than the rest of the roof. It turns to ice in the spring, which damns the runoff and runs back under the shingles. For one low pitched section it'd been real good if the roofers would have known about low-angle shingles. Oh well, that roof raking is better than a trip to a gym. Last week my wife and I snowshoed in to our camp and raked the roof on our construction trailer. Snowshoeing plus roof raking--even better than a trip to the gym. My BIL built a snow roof over his construction trailer so he doesn't have to rake it--good thing since getting to his camp on snowshoes may take several days.

I'm waiting my turn for the walk-behind blower problem. It just keeps hanging in there but it's something called an OSC blower and I haven't identified the engine--probably a '60's vintage. OSC stand for Ontario Small Engine Cooperative--probably something lost in the mists of time.

Dang--what happened to that word! It should have been which transmission and which tires. I'm a gear head myself (synchromesh including revese with four ranges). I like them fine, but for myself and many other owners HST is likely a better choice.

Thanks for all the advise. I believe I will let it ride for now. If there is a problem, I'm sure it will as problems do, get worse not better.
The temp. was in the teens the night before I used the tractor, but had warmed to the low 30's. The hydraulic oil was possibly still much cooler.
Unless I experience more problems, I'm going to hold off another 15 hours and change all the fluids/filters at 50 hours per Kubota's recommendation.

Richard, I am sure you have heard the saying "people are Goveren by the type of goverment they deserve" I am sad to say your idea of not voting is not the way of solving our problems,not only are you telling our elected officials you condone their actions and behavior in office you are in fact encouraging such..People have to get involved in what they feel is wrong, from the local and state level to the federal. Term limits is just another way of telling the American people "you are not smart enough to vote me out of office" so we will pass another law to enforce and take away some more of your freedom.. One person can do little or nothing at all to effect change but collecttivly there is no limit to what we can accomplish... I know, trying to get americans to act in unison is like trying to organize a can of fishing worms, but if we ever give up and say it does not matter, our great republic is doomed....

Would anyone know if the 510 loader is the only choice for the 03 series? Or if you could install a 521 instead. The 03 and 05 series frames look the same so why wouldn't they accommodate the same loaders? The dealer doesn't know.

I am the same way. I can't make a living if i pay the new price for equipment. I buy used or make it myself. A new product is $500 and i built it for $125. I put another $375 in my pocket and build it ten times heavier. I decided a new welder is a better choice than a some new attchements that i can build my self. A couple of pictures of the ready made, few thinking hours and a few drawing. I can start building. I got a welding shop with a shear and brake at my despoal. I got this tooth bar idea from the new case tooth bars and improved on it. There new tooth bar has a 3"by 2" tooth every 6 or 8 inches. They just take a milling machine and machine out the teeth from 3/4" thick heat treated steel. Harding welding rod can do the same thing.
