I found that JD has it's own type of quick connects for rear remotes, someone mentioned to me that you can use regular connections with JD, you have to shut off the tractor and relieve all pressure on the tractor. Has anyone had luck or knowledge on this matter

A common problem that can happen is with colder temperatures the oil naturally gets thicker. You should let your tractor warm up before use. When you changed oil in the spring, you should also have changed the filter. I would also suggest that you use the manufacturer's filter. My point is a non-factory filter may not be as strong. Some times the filter can get damaged or plugged with dirt but also from attempting to run too cold (too thick) of hydraulic fluid through it to fast. The pump is attempting to suck thick hydraulic fluid through it faster than the filter will allow it to pass causing it to collapse. Once collapsed it will not operate correctly and will need to be replaced. I had a similar problem and replacing the filter did the trick.

My hydraulics runs quite slow until it warms up. Suggest letting the tractor warm up for 5-10 minutes before use, you should be able to see the temp. gauge creep up. After this, I run my loader or back blade up and down a number of times to get hydraulic flow going.

That sounds right Tom ,but I think brokenarrow was looking at the NH40 and It's not really classified a field tractor but is a little larger than the NH33.

To test if it's normal and due to the temperature you might give the tractor longer warm-ups or work the TX a bit under load. Moving the loader up and down without load and holding the relief valve open for awhile when cycling it will help warm the oil. Screen cleaning and filter changing on general principal is a pretty good idea.

It's hard for me to imagine that 30-degree temps would affect it like that since 30 degrees would be a very warm days for me this time of year. I often work the tractor at minus 10-20F and haven't seen slowed lifting speeds. I do use a multi-season oil though. At those temps, placing the loader in float does ease the bucket down in slow motion when oil has been in the cylinders a few minutes and chills.

You are correct, the arms are smaller on these units, i.e., the 2210, BX, (have not looked at the Massy), when compared to a traditional compact tractor.

Wild,who should you write in though? I mean there is no need of writing in micky mouse unless all 60% did it,and that won't happen.
I'm from w.va.,does robert bird,[spelled wrong],come to mind,speaking of term limits,that would have to be an ammendment to constitution,to get that in,We don't need career politicians running our governments,period,thats not what our founding fathers intended,thats like having a few royal families running it. There are millons of americans out there who are capable of being a senator or congressman,[there is not much qualifications required for job you know],lets take turns,8 years is enough,period.

Then you get into the yellow dog demacrats and the pink cat republicans[just made the pink cat part up,good huh],that would vote a yellow dog in if thats the only demacrat on ballot. mindless.
Untill you change whats wrong with the system,argueing about those little things you mentioned makes no sense,thats what they want.

I will say this though,after clinton,and since there is a war on,the demacrates should be kept out for a while,maybe in another 4 to 8 years a new thought might come to them, and the war will be won. Thats still not enough to get me to vote though,cause with our present system,it really doesn't matter. Richard

After settling on a tractor make and size the next choices usually are which TX and which tires. I wouldn't neglect thinking about these choices and there's lots of good discussion about them in the archives. Ballast is another choice that gets a lot of discussion and your dealer should be able to give good guidance there. For box scraper use, going for a valve-controlled rear hydraulic circuit option would be good if one isn't standard. You'll likely want a hydraulic top-link for much scraper use.<br>

If you're new to tractors you may not know that few 3ph's hold down-pressure. It's an implement's weight and design that takes it into the ground and holds it down. For box scrapers, light ones won't cut many soils very well. Even with light sandy soil, a heavy one will work better on compacted gravel drives for example. For scrapers, heavy also is a good measure of quality. Some light scrapers are prone to top-link mount failure.

I had a fairly obscure follow-up thought. I guess 10-gauge wire seems heavier than what's there. However, it might be useful to find the SAE current specs for 10-gauge. I know that it's higher than 10-gauge line in residential wiring codes but how much higher I don't know.

Before getting into a long blurb on 3ph trouble shooting it would be useful to know more about the problem. When it doesn't work, it the hitch on the ground and won't lift? Without a load, is there no motion or weak motion? Since I don't know the tractor, you might say if the 3ph is a conventional position control type.

First I'd verify that the oil level is OK--the level should be checked on level ground with all cylinders retracted. I'd then verify that no loader valve is operated when the 3ph isn't working. In most setups, the 3ph won't work when the loader is operated. Sometimes loader valves don't centre when they're released and jiggling the joy stick can clear the problem. After that, I'd verify that operating the quadrant lever actually moves the 3ph control shaft.

There may be a control valve assembly problem but it's good to go through some simple fixes before thinking about hydraulics problems.

Wait till the 50 hours as prescribed in the owners manual. There is no reason to change it at that low of hours.

The key test point will be whether the visibility stays clear in cold weather either with the plastic or the glass window.

The 4310 only has to handle 5 of the 100 acres. 70 acres is done by a neighbor (with a really BIG JD tractor), the rest is being renaturalized with trees and reclaimed wetland.

I don't know, but it looks like a potential problem, even if it is only a one time issue.<br>

Also, I would think the "optional" stabilizer bar is a must. Otherwise, what keeps the bottom links from spreading out and dropping the impliment? I know some impliments have pins that are attached on both ends, but many are not.<br>
