You are something Tom, enjoy your coffee tomorrow morning! I got it started today after tearing the carb apart. Don't ask me what was wrong because I don't know for sure, although I did find a small (minute) amount of debris in the jet tube. What puzzles me the most is why it would not fire with the bowl drained and a dribble of gas in the cylinder. Why the backfire every time, have never seen this happen before. I have had some other strange experiences with the Tecumseh engine, not this however. The BIL showed up today and hauled it away, all smiles. Sometimes money does not mean all that much when you can do something for someone that has very little and works like a dog all day.

Grinder it has to be something to stretch a resource with something cheap put a name on it and keep the same price.

The asphalt found in grindings will not track into your house any more than the asphalt from your paved driveway however if it is loose on top it will come in just as dirt does.

Water based sealers would be something city people would want so they can clean up their tools with out a solvent.

Oil based sealers are an emlusion of asphalt and some other products that keep it all in suspension. Our people buy cheap tools and heave them. Some of the specility tools are cleaned with fuel.

Good luck with the demo! Come back and post your impressions and comments. I think we would all be interested in hearing what decision you arrive at. You will probably have more questions anyway. Take your time and demo the machinery and ask the questions. Best not to make a hasty decision and wish you had gone another route.

They're all diesels. I think the TC40DA is the deluxe version that has a hydrostatic transmission and a few more bells and whistles.

Although I follow what Huckmeat suggests I am sure it would take me a bit to rig it up. I find that PLC programing and literature is written by computer programers that flunked English 101 7 or 8 times. Naturally the Japanese/english translations are worse.
I am enclined to encourage Huckmeat to part with his mini CNC for a larger one. I'll start the bidding at 100$. Either that or he may have me on his door step for a week while I figure out what he did.

Yep, those Prince SV valves have SAE-8 work ports. I purchased SAE-8 to 3/8 NPT adaptors at a hydraulic shop and used 3/8 NPT for all other connections. 3/8 NPT fittings are readily available, even Kubota uses them. BTW, the threads on the tank return under the seat are 3/8 NPT.

Purchased the 1045. Actually I am a partner in ownership with my Dad and Brother in Law. This is an upgrade for us. We have owned an Internationatal 504 Utility for 17 years. It has served us well. Still a good machine. It is now for sale. My Dad is up in years and had trouble applying enough peddle pressure to the clutch and brakes. He has no problem now. This 1045 seems to be a nice tractor. Has 1100 hrs on it and runs good. Everything works and appears to have been well maintained. Its first life was spent on a sheep farm in East Chatham NY. We purchased it from a local dealer. It had been traded for a new Kabota. Our uses include fire wood loading and hauling and snow removal. There is a MF 232 loader on this tractor. I have noticed the loader is slow. Looks like the supply hoses are small diameter. I guess this means the pump is likley of small capacity. If anyone knows how I could increase flow rate, I would be interested in hearing about it. Even if the pump is small, can I increase speed by replacing the small hoses with larger ones? I plan to some how install a snowplow. I am trying to determine if I should build a mount system to fit in the loader mounts or alter the bucket into a quick release type and mount a plow frame there. Also undesided if I will power the plow position by tractor hydraulics or electric. Anyway we are happy so far with our new tractor. 4WD is new to us. How nice!

I picked up my new 4710 E-hydro w/heavy duty FEL, R4's loaded, work light, It came with all the toys cruise, load match, motion match, e-4*4, block heater and there was a $400 rebate if you buy 2 attachments, FEL is 1 and I opted for a 3pth back blade since it is only $440 basically free, total for the tractor is $23600. Saved 350 when I picked it up. I felt I made a great choice and price, comments welcomed.

THE LIMITED PORTION REFERS TO THE HEIGHT IT WILL LIFT THE IMPLEMENT AND NOT PIN SIZE. LIKE THE BX, THE 2210 WILL NOT LIFT ATTACHMENTS AS HIGH AS YOU MIGHT SEE ON THE 4000 SERIES.

I used the power beyond from fel, reducing pressure and flow and the valve is on the winch with a remote control just like the electric winches have. Will send photos when I can get back to the farm for photos.I mounted winch on a piece of 3/ 8 inch plate and used a truck receiver-hitch setup so I can move from tractor to truck or trailer. The winches are slow but very powerful and you don't need but 6 amps for the valve operation and they don't heat up like electric winches do. The one I purchased needs 1500 to 2000 psi at 2 to 4 gpm.You can get a kit to use the power steering pump on a vehicle for hydraulic supply. My whole setup cost about 850.00. with a two year warranty. We have used it a lot and no problems so far.If you need further info e-mail .

I too had this problem with both the blue/gray and the Kubota orange. I took the fenders off my old L175 to have them welded, and purchased the paint which was supposed be the old standard from a local dealer. I painted the fenders away from the tractor and ended up with two orange colors. It was like "oh well". It looked better than it did when one of the fenders came off. The new engine paint peeled off eventually in a few areas to reveal the darker old stuff. Anyway, good luck.

Art: I share the ideas of most others here. I find current 'site style' interferes rather than helps me finding what I want--going around in circles and reading around a bunch of graphics clutter doesn't earn any good will from me. I'd add that maybe a list of PIPS available and similar content might be interesting. I do read the few monthly newsletters I sign up for. You probably already have thought through what a site is supposed to do for you but it's important to do so. It could be developing new business or earning good will with existing customers. It also could be taking some load off of sales staff by answering common questions before customers show up.

If it's developing new business, I think you have to assume that most site traffic will come through links from sites like this board or the Kubota dealer locator service. People do find businesses through general web searches but the competition for top search placements is huge and only the top ten get much traffic. For example, there are no tractor dealers in the first 10 sites for an IE search on 'kubota dealers new york.' I also did IE and NS searches on the design company's name. It's not on IE, which isn't unusual for a new or low traffic site. I wasn't inspired by the site I found on NS. You might ask the company for examples of sites they've designed, the placements on major search engines, the traffic they receive and whether they're listed on all major engines and directories and the typical annual budget for paid listings.

Even so, I'd forget about the search engine stuff for leading new customers to your company. Your participation on this board likely earns your site more traffic than any design will do (and good will besides). I think you are mostly in competition with other dealer links on tractor related sites and with other area dealers on the Kubota dealer locator. If that's true, then the question is how does the site earn more good will than the competitor's sites. I think the other comments here are pretty good guides for doing that. A site has to have content that people really want or it's not going to have appreciable traffic. Your work with customers and your participation here makes you an expert on the subject. You already know the answer better than any web designer.
