Depends on what you want to do. I charge $150 a day for the tractor. $50 an hour for skilled labor and $25 an hour for unskilled labor. Skilled labor is equipment operation (tractor and lawnmower), equipment repair, snow removel, anything requiring thinking or talking, etc. Unskilled labor mulch work, hand labor, leave removel, anything not requiring thinking or talking. But i can charge that because i have a good reputation and a waiting list. But somethings change if i only use the tractor for 5 minutes i don't charge for it, if its there all day i do. <br>

It also depends on the customer. If it someone i done work for a long time, then i don't even charge them for litte stuff that takes 10 minutes or less. Or big tipper, I got one guy i plow his drive way for $50 and get a $25 bonus. He gets the snow knocked off his car and dug around for that. If they bitch about the price, then don't give them any slack. I hate that. I really hate it when you go collect your money and they say i didn't do enough work. Then try not to pay you. A couple of times i have over bid something and tell them it is less then i quoted, they usally give it to you all. Or if you under bid it, bite the bullet and tell them it took you longer and still are going to charge them the same. Say hello bonus. Once again it depends on the customer. I got a couple of customers i don't even bother telling a price to, because i have done so much work before. They know i am not going to rip them off. <br>

I have heard more than a few folks complain about the TN series being underpowered and unhappy with the speed of the hydraulics. I have no personal experience with them. My guess would be to go with the TC55a. It is more or less a development in series from the TC45 which seems to have many happy customer. AC5ZO can give you a good run down on his likes and dislikes on his TC45.

Good luck with the impact wrench. I put one in a 790 JD my
600lb air ratchet, wouldn't budge it. I used a breaker bar with a 5ft extension finally broke loose. I now have a breaker bar that looks like banana.

Make sure you have a T-1 line or allot of time. I'm running a 233MZ unit and a dialup, it took me days to get the sight up? Not sure this is a good thing?

Deere dropped the 4100 N when they went to the -10 series leaving the market without a narrow CUT.

I have seen dealers re-engineer the 790 at great cost trying to fill the need.

Kubota is market-wise in offering a narrow model.

44trxfun, thanks for the feed back. Some of the things you point out on the 2300 do concern me. I have done quite a bit of pricing but I have not set on or tested any of the subcompacts because none of the dealers here in SW Idaho or Eastern OR have any in stock. I will probably have to go to the Portland, OR area to do that.
Middleton, ID is about 20 miles west of Boise and 6 miles north of Nampa/Cardwell. Out of curiosity what were you doing in Elk City and how did you end up in Western NY? The agency I just retired from, Federal Highway Admin. was involved in rebuilding the Elk City highway so I have been to the big town of Elk City.

JerryG44, I'm in the market for a TC24D with a 60" mid-mount mower. Maybe we can get a package deal or save on shipping since I also live in Connecticut. I work in New Haven, live in Middlesex County, and have family in Hartford, so i can get to most of the state. Let me know how you make out finding a good dealer. So far Corriher seems okay. Not sure if they have the best pricing though.
I was quoted $10,300 for their TC24d and have a different price from someone else of $9,950.

Randy, for that kind of money I'll take a refurbished Catalina thanks.

Never mind 80mph on the Interstate, how about 175 mph anywhere you please.

Mind you I doubt a pair of 1,200 hp. Pratt & Whitney would get the same fuel mileage either. But the 'smiles per hour' is way up there.

For a beater I have to go with a Ford 150-250 years 81 thru 90. Preferably fuel injected. Why? Around St. Louis the self-serve junk yards are full of them and thus plenty of parts available. GM and Dodge are harder to find. Fuel injected engines last longer and have far fewer problems than carburated engines. I just saw an '88 F-250 460 FI 5 spd go for $1020 at an auction that would be a reliable beater.
Now to restore one, I'm all bow-tie!
