Ours looks just like the one pictured on the full-size TLB on the websie link.

It is also VERY easy to convert almost any reasonably heavy-duty PHD to hydraulic drive, the manufacturer just won't tell you that. Cost is normally no more than about $200 plus the cost of the hyd. motor.

Mark, I don't think tongue weight is as big an issue as the lack of brakes is.

A $50 brake controller from Northern Tool might be money well spent.

All our heavy wagons and trailers on the farm are equipped with brakes, our bigger tractors even have an air system to power the air brakes on the semi-trailers that we pull on jeep converters, most however are either electric (on the wagons) or hydraulic surge brakes (on the trailers).

The $649 is about double compared to the previous december.

This Dec was colder and we had a lot of holiday company. So many that we had to activate (read: electric heat) a couple of travel trailers as overflow guest rooms. That plus all the extra showers and clothes washing/drying and running as many as 7, 1500 watt heaters in single digit temps...... well it all adds up.

The woodstove was going 24-7, but one stove in 3000+ square feet? Asking a lot.

The house has little or no roof insulation and I am constantly finding air gaps and cracks to be sealed.

Big projects upcoming: a new roof with high tech insulation and a new propane forced air system that will cover about 70 percent of the house. But first I have to excavate the old oil tank and run leakage tests on the soil below, and get a trench dug for the propane line through some mighty tough soil.

Thatks. It was something my dealer had suggested when I asked if this phd would work here.... Knowing I had the backhoe, he said I could do a small hydraulic mount one on either the loader or the backhoe. Just wanted to figure out what the remotes ran if I decided to put one up front or rear.

That unit will keep up with all the other 25 horsepower compacts out there for performance. There are differences that might make a difference from one operator to the other but that is about it.

About that comes to my mind is if you aren't already; install an engine block heater to minimize glow plug cycle times. Glow plugs should last much longer than you are experiencing. Have you done a resistance check as Tom said?

Morning: For my wacky theory I was thinking tach rather than alternator. There may be a separate ground wire for the tach. An independent ground for the alternator likely would be a lug on one of the mounting bolts--probably the same for the regulator. The idea here is to test for a general ground fault by providing an independent ground path to the battery. I've got to assume that you have some background in this stuff, but procedures in a manual should be followed to make most tests.

Poor ground for the alternator should show up as low output in a test. I never did them for my Ford, but I found the output terminal still was covered with Ford Blue paint from 20-years before. The problem was low charge rate and burnishing the terminal improved it. I did check for battery drain but it was normal. Excessive battery drain would confirm a weak diode or carbon dust. All my auxiliary circuits come off a feed that comes from the battery terminal on my starter solenoid through a fusible link. I also burnished all connections on the solenoid and feed from the battery.

My manual calls for a carbon load to carry out the tests. I don't have one but I'd could hookup a bunch of lights and accessories. The idea is that you can't tell if a regulator is working properly unless the system is loaded to nearly the alternator rating and the battery is in good condition and charged.

I was hopng you would see this last post, He is looking for his mower manual, and is a little reluctant to do much in this cold snap,as far as going out and turning wrenches.
Can't blame him. Suppose to have a deal regardless. I believe he has a loader on his 2410.

There are only three sizes available for most three point and many of the hydraulic and larger units. No matter what make auger you get besure it is meant to cut in the ground conditions you have. There are 200 dollar augers and 500 dollar augers and the 500 dollar augers will cut most everything including blactop and the 200 dollar augers work great in, well some things.

I'd be looking for a subframe for that set-up to help reinforce the unit as a whole. The older tractors had more problems with backhoes mounted then the newer ones do.

I agree with AV8R. A UNIMOG will kick that thing ass with a Hummer H2 in tow. A UNIMOG has to feed the rest of the rest of the familly on a want a be SUV. I don't know anyone who would spend $43,000 on that. A used Unimog is about $40,000 with a loader, backhoe, plow, snow blower, etc.

FWIW, I do a lot of work in the woods too and the skid plates are a good idea. But somehow I manage to do without and haven't had any trouble. Here is what I know about the skid plates. They are very robust and bolt into existing mounting holes in the frame without compromising ground clearance. It isn't too difficult to change the eHydro suction filter with them in place. They are available only as part of the "Rental Upgrade Kit". This kit includes stuff you may not want to install, like a C range lockout or a backup alarm. Somehow for me the plates never percolate to the top of the priority list, but if I was buying again I'd negotiate them in as part of the package.

It really isn't all that involved. You have to remove the hydraulic lift cover. Once it is removed the pin should be accessible. I have the MF manual for quite a bit less than the internet price you quoted.

I have a Ford F-800 with 11R24.5 tires and a 7 yd body. I do not know the hight of the sides, but my TC45D with 16LA loader can load it with a little bit of forward roll. I believe the new loader for the TC55 is the 18LA which lifts higher and holds about 500lbs more than the 16LA.

I'm in the Portland OR area and would be happy to show you my Jinma if you are close enough, or if you are in the area sometime. Mine was a crate tractor and I'm quite pleased with it. I bought tractor, loader and chipper.
As long as you buy through a dealer, you shouldn't have any problems. Buying direct and being your own importer is much riskier. Most self importers apparently end up spending more than they expected, and sometimes the frustration level is a little high.
