I'd check with your dealer to see if it's normal--could be just the fairly normal workings of the regulator. You might try trickle charging the battery for 24 hours or so and see if that clears the problem. I don't know how the tack works but many gauge circuits are ballasted to a constant 9V so variations in alternator voltage don't affect gauge readings. If it's an electronic tack and it's ballasted there might be an issue. A manual would give procedures for troubleshooting the regulator.

Happy the thread started simple, proceeded to really difficult and ended pretty good--and no need for Dennis's cyber jail. Our Board reputation remains intact. We solve most of our problems without being reduced to vanilla flavoured pap by moderators.

Is everybody sure the flat beer thing isn't Boyle's Law--gaseous solubility in liquid increases as temperature decreases? I've always though that's true and the CO2 in cold N.A. carbonated beer just comes out in the digestive tract as it warms. It makes you, well you know--could be a social problem in some situations.

These British style pubs in N.A. that give you frosted mugs seems curious. You're supposed to sit around drinking beer and chatting away with whoever you find next to you for hours and hours. But the frosted mugs may give you good reason after awhile to not want to be close enough to talk to anybody. It's a variation on the biffy race idea.

imtools go to tirechains.com look at the diamond style or the Duo-grip chains. These styles do not drop down into the tread. The also have the best prices.

Side-level can be adjusted on the fly with a full tip and tilt setup. I think of the top-link part of it as nearly essential for scraper work and I have one. Occasionally I wish for the tilt portion but in practice I don't have to adjust the side level often enough to motivate me.

Of course, I mostly work crowns where I use the same side grade on both sides of a drive. One tilt works for both sides of the roadways. I'd definitely want tilt if I had to manually adjust the side level in order to do meaningful work going in each direction.

Doing wide shallow excavations and having to level a side-grade is a pain since there's little alternative except to lift the box and drive back the start. I have organized myself so I can do more finishing work on one side and then back up doing some rough 'cut the bumps down' work in reverse on the other side and using the rear cutter. They get to be real long days if there's much just driving around time or maneuvering required

On the bottom of your valve there are caps that need to be removed and allow the water to get out. If you put small holes in the bottom of them they will drain by themselves in the future. Put a block heater on it for the starting problem.

Grinder, they are doing all that they can at this time to improve systems. I do believe yours might have gotten lost. I had a customer call to ask about there getting a B-7510 to us after the introduction. I told him it would be at the end of December or the first week of January. He called the company and they responded with what I'd told him and followed up with a call to me and I to him within less then 48 hours of the call. They are one of the fastest growing companies in this buisness and every buisness get's growing pains. The US is different for them then there used to but they are learning fast and paying attention. They do believe they are not doing it right and continusally looking for ways to improve. The bulk of the customers I have want to work with the dealer not the company as the dealer is the one who has to work with the company in your behalf. It is frustrating for us when we do have a problem and we can't get through because there lines are full with calls that should be handled by dealers as that is the way the company is set up. Sometimes we wind up with machines torn apart with no info to help with this and it does cost us money for the delay as we have technicians standing around with full bays and not able to move on. For your question as to the warrantee it is done automatically when the dealer pays for the tractor. I know people need assistance from time to time but I wish they would go to the dealer first for there information. We continually find that customers are contacting the companies for information as it does filter back to the local dealer. You will be recieving an inquiry as to the performance of your tractor several times at different times and that would be a good place to bring it up as they are reviewed by Kubota as well as your dealer who sold it to you.

Sounds like the ideas are coming together pretty well--yes, electrical metaphors for fluids almost always work and vise-versa. The hydraulics shop guys likely will come up with several workable alternatives.

One alternative might be a variable speed feed. I keep thinking that might be a good idea since the loads likely will be pretty variable with different log sizes and types. The speed likely would vary a bit with load due to volumetric efficiencies of both the pump and motor. But that 'bit,' might not be too desirable if it means sitting around waiting for a slow feed that is suitable for large logs to barely work the blade on small ones and take all day to do. Ironically, a cheap motor with low efficiency might be desirable if losses could be tolerated.

A variable displacement axial flow motor with high efficiency could manage such a feed but one that'd do the job might be pricey. I've heard of 3-speed motors but I don't know much about them.

r43h2z I am not sure about your lowest gear ground speed and can not remember if the b model had the had clutch. The wd45's did it worked as a 2 stage as I recall.

Yes you want a pull behind. You have plenty of pto power to run it. But I do not think on a hot day you will be able to work it real hard, keep an eye on temp.

Depending on your lowest ground speed you will either have to cut more often or set high 6-8" mow and then lower a couple of inches and remow.

Your height is set with a top link arangement or hydraulic.

There are some AC people on here and one of them may remember the clutch arangement, wether or not you will need an overunning pto adapter.

It is Jinma and they also make the Agracat tractors and 3 or four others sold here. I suppose they are a good unit for the dollars. Parts and service are the most important things however.

Thanks for your thoughts, I have a Yanmar 165D 4x4 right now but am wanting to get a bit bigger JM 184 , so I am trying to get a feel for the Jinma, I have looked at them
yes I agree they are not even quite as refined as my 20 year old Yanmar but call me a fool for the underdog, I am somehow enticed to them , maybe because they are different.
Well If I get one and it gives me anywhere near the service my 165D gives me well I will be pleased and Im sure with a bit of TLC they will do this faithfully.
Im sure in the next 5 years we will see huge changes in the Jinma, Im sure they will soon look and run like any of the others.

Besides the above mentioned link, are there any other good sources for a set of flat top fenders with brackets. He had gotten a price from a local salvage yard in the $500 range. Don't know if that is high or reasonable. He thinks for that much, he can try to fabricate his own. I thought maybe I could dig up a pair for him at a decent price and would definitely be nicer than what he would build. Any further suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

You motivated me to register! I own a Ferrari Raptor 30 and love it...just wanted to extend the invitation for you to reach out if I can give you any info. I bought from Eugene Canales in Gridley CA. I am in CT and had not one problem with Mr. Canales (Ferrari CIE). In fact, this was the most pleasant transactions that I have ever made. The tractor is on the small side of the compact market and this factor has translated into a HUGE benefit for me and my application (low trees, tight spots, residential areas, limited storage,etc). It has plenty of grunt and easily out drags, lifts, and performs most of my friends larger, heavier machines. This is one siuation where bigger aint necessarily better! I consider the machine an excellent value in this price point. I have worked with and on several larger tractors(JD, New Holland, Kubota)that left me looking for more. I have been using the Ferrari tractor for hauling logs, clearing brush, grading top soil, moving spreading mulch, turning compost, aerating, mowing, tilling loading debris in my F350 stakeside dump, pushing snow, etc. A few quick observations. The tractor is really only limited by its shear weight. It seems that it could lift double what it can if the tractor had more weight...but that's a trade off in other considerations of turf care that I am into. The bucket (Bonnatti) is overbuilt and rigged. Compare the 3 point hitch and note the materials used in the link arms, these are heavy duty...excellent lift (rated at 700 kg but I can tell you it easily lifts enough to get me in trouble). Excellent Lombardini motor...tourque at low rpms, excellent fuel efficiency. I could go on. Give Canales a call...he's a gentleman and a guy that stands behind what he sells. The issue of Italian products is always clouded by reliability and availability of parts. This thing is a work of art and functionality. Canales is in CA and Lombardini is in GA. Canales overnighted me a PTO shroud because I bunged it up and couldn't stand looking at it...fast and easy. If I can be of any assistance..please do not hesitate to email me. Regards, MCat

I buy several old tractors usually John Deeres, Masseys and Fords. I recently was at a lady's home to move some horses for her and bought a Yanmar 2000 diesel 2 wheel drive with a new 4 foot bush hog. Any idea what the tractor is worth. It runs good and appears to be in excellent shape. I bought it and the bushhog for 1500.00 dollars. Good deal? What would be a good asking price for the tractor. Thanks for any input, Alan

The local rental shops only rent the hydraulic driven ones, $141 per day, $495 per week.

My Thomas T103 is designed to run 10W30 inthe hydraulic system. All of the local rental shops have implements that are filled with hydraulic fluid. My Bobcat is only a 553 and too small for a 60" sweeper with a collection bucket.

None of these rental shops have a PTO model to rent. I would love to find one used for a bargin. I check eBay and United Rentals web sites often along with others, but no luck.

If these static brooms work as well as everyone says, and there are so much cheaper, I am probably going to go that way.

We regularly have to use a 3pth blower to remove a snow layer to prior to laying sod in the late fall / early winter, never had to replace a dead roll in the spring yet either.

We also spray down a LOT of seed just before snow, it does work quite well.

I didn't know that about the rhino tractor. I don't think this will be the case with this jinma though,but who really knows for sure. They ,northern, have been selling them for 5 or 6 years now,as well as other dealers,they are just now catching on I believe,but if we for instance,went to war in one way or another with china,who knows right? Course if we really went to a shooting war with china,tractors,who cares. Richard
