I also have a B7800.

They are all over the FEL.

But on the rest of the tractor you may be right, I'll check the manual tonight.

I wonder how the Axles are lubricated? Is it possible the hydraulics somehow lube them?

But what about the steering mechanism and other pedals?

I asked the same question here and other places without much luck. My local dealer was even higher 60 air, 90 hydr but you have to pay to play. Just today I received the following napa 6270 air filter, napa 3264 fuel filter, napa 1064 oil filter, fram 3593a oil filter and nothing about hydr filter. I looked for a long time and never got a answer. I have tried the napa oil filter and for the diff in cash and size I will go back and pay the dealer. But I will check out the air it looks like the kubota but more than twice the price.

logged when I was a kid with my step father,started with a drott 4 crawler and now even with a Jd grapple skidder he cant compete with the new $100,000 slasher/shears /forwarders with two man crews!!!!
until you have a cable snap and wrap itself around your rops (a chain will just break and the links dissipate the energy),cut itself in the log far enough to spend an hour to get it out,the constant maint ie.fraying ,oiling and replacement.in the long run grade 7 chain will out live any cable especially in a wooded enviroment with sharp rocks!!!!!
I will still use chain over cable for maint,safty and overall long term cost.

Yeah, the only time I really set the fan off is when I am low speed a manuevering with a trailer or when I get off the highway after real high speeds. I think the vans run a little hotter due to the cramped engine compartment. I know my van doesn't have much airflow.

I agree about getting expert help for this project. There is a custom hydraulic shop where I work in Rochester MN so I was planning on stopping there soon to talk. Mostly I wanted to pick your collective brains a bit so I could make some sense when I do stop.

It's just a Monday, I've learned not to take them personally. Everyone else has had time to stew on there problems all weekend while I try to forget them for a few hours. Seems like every Monday it starts over again. Can't we just drop back to a six day week and leave Monday out?

On my first 410 loader bucket I put the angle inside the bucket where it wouldn't show. <br>

I got a piece of 3/16 or 1/4 angle that was as wide as the flat on the top of the bucket and mounted it with grade 5, half inch bolts about every 6 or 8 inches.<br>

Then I drilled through the whole thing to mount hooks.<br>

Another thing I am trying on my newest loader is to mount forged eye bolts to the top of the bucket and put the hooks on the eye bolts. Under really heavy loads the eye bolts will swivel to align themselves with the load forces.<br>

I have one of those cannister type heaters(that a friend gave me) on mine and it works better than I expected. I plan to add a oil pan heater to warm the oil for severe cold temps that we get in upstate NY. I feel its the best of both worlds to have a warm block and oil together. You might say that doing so uses too much electricity but the last thing I need is to be jump starting my machinery in sub zero temps when I need it the most. It also saves wear and tear on engine, starter. If you have a heated area to store it then its a no brainer but when you don't you have to deal with it. I do feel that the block plug design heater would be more efficient. Just my opine, Harry G

Wildbill, there is some people that have all these horror stories of hydro failures. I have been a dealer that has sold them for over thirty years and the only horrors that I can think of is what some people that call themselves mechanics worked on them thruogh experimentation. Some mechanics aren't smart enouogh to know what they do and don't and wait till they have the proper information to fix a machine. I consider the hydro much like some of the repairs I've seen on computers that have been being used for nearly 20 years on tractors. I don't take a Chevy to a Ford garage as a normal, unfortunatly some times it gets billed as the veichles fault and not the mechanics fault do to lack of education. We have had excellent luck with hydro's for longevity as well as little or no failure. They are when repairs are needed in need of a technician not a mechanic. I find that everyone has there comfort level and some people can get in over there head as to how to fix or even diagose a problem and I don't like to just change parts. Interesting enough I belong to a dealer to dealer service on the internet to help us find equipment. A dealer from Nebraska was looking to sell a IH 656 gas hydro. It did have frseh paint but no three point hitch installed on the tractor altough at one time it did have it and 2900 original hours. He was looking for 6500 for me to purchase. Mind you this tractor comes from the late 60's and retail was $7895. For something that has been stated that real farmers don't use hydro's or they have no resale value is incorrect as this tractor is at a deere dealership.

I'd talk with your dealer about getting another stub shaft to have with each attachment. I've worked with several customers to do that. It does make life a lot simpler. You could have it together before hand but if you are switching from one to the other a lot the two shafts would be best.

The draws I've heard for most electric winches are a lot larger than CUT alternators I'm aware of. I imagine that almost any of them would run mostly on the battery. A larger alternator would shorten up the recharge times provided the regulator allowed higher charge rates.

I think one of the archive discussions talked about using supplemental batteries to run a winch and estimated the length of time it could be used.

ISH,well you might be right and then you might be wrong,thats the thing about a used tractor. That was my choices,used yanmore from a company I never heard of before or a new chinese one from a company I had. Parts will never be a issue with the chinese one,dealer support will not be an issue either,and the company has been in bussiness for years and has their name on it.Used anything scares me a little cause you just never know,and like you said,reconditioned might mean anything,I mean was you there when it was"reconditioned". Now having said that,my neighbor has a yanmor,he has been running it rough for about three tears now,I don't think hes put all that many hrs.,but the hrs he has put on it have been rough ones,and as far as I know he has only had to replace water pump and a few other little things. So I guess he didn't get burned. Richard

About jap companies working in china.,yes,big ones.My personel experience,didn't read it,higher end stainless steel items for processing plastic,made in U.S.,shipped to china,paid for by Jap company,in other words,the Jap company is the owner of the plant in china,and is getting some of there equipment made in the U.S.,japan knows that this item is made by a company in the U.S,better then anywheres else,they also know that the price of making the end product is cheapest in china,I think this sort of thing has been going on for years. After a while the chinese figure out how to cut out the middle man,in this case japan,and also figure out how to make their own equipment,cut out the second middle man.,the company in the U.S.,then they sell their product to both countries. So china even at the present may by some seem to be nothing more than cheap slave labor,is looking at the big picture,thats the way japan got started. But china is 100 japans. Richard
