Well I finally took the plunge over the holidays. I went and picked up my new BX1500-54 and it's gorgeous! Had a last minute look at the 1830 and 2230 but felt these were overkill for my needs. Still shopping around for a Rear PTO snowblower (the PUMA looks the part) so haven't put any real time behind the wheel yet. Got a GREAT deal from a dealer in WNY who really wanted to sell since his big movers are the BX2230's. Paid $8000! Very Happy!!

I'd love to pass some snow down that way. You folks in Nevada and Arizona have been hurting for some time. Was in Flagstaff a year or so ago and I couldn't believe all the dead and dying trees from the bark beetle. More moisture is needed to keep the trees healthy.

I'd love to try a blade but it's sort of hard to justify. We average about 3" of snow in January, and maybe 6" total each winter, so this storm is an exception to the norm. Heck, we've had two winters in the last five with no snow at all.

If you have ag tires you should be okay in 4WD as long as its pretty flat. Even with turfs in 4WD, you shouln' have too many problems. I think your 2210 weighs about the same as my 4010 with a little less ground clearance. Are you using a blade or a blower?

I don't know Pete but he's replied to posts of mine when I was deciding which tractor to buy a couple years ago. I'm not sticking up for anyone here but he posts alot at other boards. Also, if its the same guy, he's the one who had all the problems with leak on his 2210. I still can't figure out why you can't believe a front blade can push 2 feet of snow, especially since you haven't tried it. From what I read, you and a couple of other blower fans have never tried a front blade. Maybe I'm wrong there, and if so I'm sorry.<br>

I ended up with a 4010, 53" 410 FEL, front blade, and 54" deck last year. Last year in late winter we had two or three killer storms where I pushed about 2 feet of snow with my front blade without a big problem. That huge blizard last year I went out about half way through it before the snow got deeper than the top of my blade. Traction is not a problem on my 4010 with ag tires in 4WD but I can't vouch for the 2210. The balance and ballasting and hydraulics pushing snow forward makes all the difference like Mark said. I'm not far from Philly so it will melt down a few times each year. I used to have a 47" blower on a JD 455 that was great, but heavy and slower compared to a blade, and overkill for anything under a foot or so. The extra blower weight on the front reduces traction on the back unless you ballast the heck out of it. Not so with the front blade. If I lived in the Poconos or upstate, I'd have a blower for the big snows but would use a blade 80% of the time. At a $1,000 versus $4,000, it's a no-brainer for anybody with room and normal snows. That doesn't include the Upper areas of Michigam, PA, NY, Vermont or Maine. Maybe you should try a blade with you 4115. I don't know how long you've had it so maybe you just haven't given it a chance. If all you have used for snow removal is your Cub Cadet, I think you might be surprised. I'd also think your Cub slows down considerably with 2 feet of snow. Even my 455 did and I believe it may be a bit larger than the Cub you say your are using.<br>

Then again as you well know there are many different densities in snow falls, 18" of fluffy snow is easier sometimes than 8" of dense freezing rain type stuff.

I have an E232, 3 cyl diesel, with an aftermarket front end loader. The water pump recently burned up (bearings / seals gone) and I am looking for a new or used replacement. If you know the M-F crossover number for this tractor or if you know where I can get this part I would appreciate any help.

KABOTA, we get a lot of tourist here in the summer,but it seems like there is no big rush of them,its just like a small all summer trickle,most of the rafts actually put in futher down the river,I live back on top of a hill so it doesn't affect me much one way or the other,but there is never a traffic jam of them at any time. I was born and raised in calhoun and roane counties,now you talk about almost heaven,there it is,If you like that sort of thing,about an hr. north of charleston,and an hour south of clarksburg,pretty close to Jessica Lynchs home, nothing there but trees hills and small slow creeks,that whole area,[middle part of the state,is like that,to far away from anything for anybody much to even know about it,if you had 50,000 dollars cash,you could go to that area and in a few days have a livable house,barn,pond,fences,probably free gas,on about 60 acres, Richard

I think it's true that compacts have much smaller oil reservoirs than cars and trucks--a lot smaller displacement too. My dipstick is at a very low angle so a little bit of oil makes quite a change on the stick. The difference between the top and bottom mark probably doesn't make much difference to engine operation. Thanks to Mark it seems pretty safe to think that the top mark means full.

Mark: I forget which thread your box scraper comment was in. I think a scrapper should work OK for pushing back banks--especially for people without loaders. The extra weight compared to most blades should help keep it down. I do use my scraper a bit that way mostly in the spring. I use the scraifiers to break up my snow pack turned to ice. The ice chunks collect in the box and I dump them when full. I then get them off the drive with either the loader or rear blade of the scraper. Guess I've continued by cutting down some of the banks with the scraper--worked pretty well.

Settled on a front snow blade with the purchase. Checked it out the other day, I am pleased with the set up, with that blade mounted at mid-frame, it has a lot of stability, and I am pleased I did NOT go with the quick attach bucket/snow blade set up, it puts the center of gravity out of whack, in my opinion, and I'd be sliding around up front on any kind of grade, and I have a slightly pitched lane..and more severe in some places..I'll learn the loader disconnect, in favor of having that stability. Thanks for the input. it is appreciated. Thanks to ALL who gave me pointers and advice. I was a Farmall Cub nut for twenty some years, so if I can help on that score, give me a shout. Ponyman

Glad to hear you also think this is a sharp tractor! There is more info on the main Page. The TS354C as shown is under $9K. Yes factory loaders and backhoe are available and we are also working with Koyker to supply brackets for their loaders.

I think I bought my 354 off the same guy that Edward bought his from. He was the cheapest I could find without self importing...........seems to have worked out ok for me. I've given the 354 no mercy for her first 150 hours and so far I've been very pleased for the price. Would have liked to have had the backing of the big guys but it costs the few more dollars I did'nt want to spend on a tractor.

A surfactant is used to break the surface tension of the mixture to aid absorbtion by the plant. I've got a bottle but the label fell off a long time ago so I can't tell you the brand. It's not hard to find, though. In my experience any gardening center will have it.

I bought (3 years ago) a Balti-matic ($400+) with high hopes of spreading sand on my 1400' drive. Forget it. Sand will bridge and the agitator will spin in the middle. Ended up buying a Western Pro Flow II. Has a small conveyor in the bottom. All 12v. Put it on my plow truck, 98 GMC 1 ton dump. It works the way it is SUPPOSED to. Bad news; $2200 new. Got mine used from a bud for $1050.

Art this statement is not true. All quiet line (QT)cubs had engines with starters. My son has a 1450 cub and it has a starter. My manual also states a 1650 (16HP ) has a starter.<br>
They came out in the mid 70's till 1980 before MTD took over.
