MURF You talked me into it. I am going diving. That cylinder deserves a better look. I found the pins for it on the shelf in the shop. there are 3" diaX6"long. While looking for them I uncovered a new cylinder just over 40" long with 3/4" pins me thinks that is my boom cylinder.

Not sure if that cylinder in dumpster can be used on this splitter but I'll check it. Me thinks it weighs in close to or more than 300#.

If I can't use it on the splitter it would make one hell of a stump puller with some cables from the drag line and a good anchor :-)

Man I love that toy box! And they pay me!

Here is some info: The container that the tractor is shipped in is filled with the tractor you order and other orders, that are coming to the same port, could be lawnmowers. In the main when the crate arrives you pick the tractor up with your trailer or truck. Because it is one unit for your personal use it does not have the same duty as a load supject to resale (duty cost etc. is in the quoted price) . Looking just at the CBP latest listing their price for the 224 4wd 2cyl is $4950 which to me is more than a little less than 6K. There may be other reasons that you do not wish to go the import route, but at least you should have the correct info to base your decision on.

If you want to advertise; please be so kind as to buy some ad space from Dennis. Buy the way Mahindra's are a cross breed with Kioti which is not a bad thing but you should also mention their abismal resale value. I think Art can lend credibility to this.

Ken, keep a VERY close eye on the battery compartment as you will not see signs of the outgassing condensate unless you are operating in a very dusty environment. Then you will see the tell tale signs. Otherwise you have to remove the grill and put your fingers on the battery caps to feel for moisture. Most do it. Unfortunately, most don't realize it until the corrosion damage is done. I am going to replace my battery this year with a sealed AGM battery. It takes a Group 22NF.

Glyphosphate mixed with a surfactant, later followed up with a mix of annual rye and a hardy annual grass seed suitable for your area. If it is on a steep slope; you may want to consider paying to have it hydro-seeded.

Assuming the 4100 is a 2000 model 4WD hydo. & the FEL is a 70 model JD. That is not such a bad price. Offer $12,000 and see what happens. Walk away at over $13,000. I figure no more than $11,000 for the tractor, $1,000 for the FEL and $1,000 for the RFM. Make him give you at hat! ;o) If she is in really primo condition, that is still not such a bad price. Take it out in the yard and run it at FULL pto rpm with the RFM engaged for at least 20 - 30 minutes or more and put the machine through the paces to expose any potential problems. Why did the previous owner trade it in at 30 hrs.?????? Ask for the previous owners phone number and call him and ask about the tractor if they will give you that info. (not likely) If you can get a look at the sales packet; you might be able to see this inof. without asking and call him and ask. (I didn't just say that did I??????? ;o) Sounds like it is probably and nice find but do your home work! Good luck! If you decide to buy new; get the 4110 or 4115. IMO, the 4010 is a bit under powered.

Don't think you need the 4115...I will say that the JD 4115 will drive a 72" belly mower and none of the other CUTS or sub-CUTS will. The 4115 needs a lot of room to turn around, so all of the smaller compacts up to the JD 4110 will have a smaller turning radius/smaller "uncut" circle with a belly mower. On the other hand, the 4115 is clearly the heaviest, longest, and most powerful tractor on your list. From your choices, the 4115 is the best choice for open-field mowing and loader or implement work. Any of the sub-CUTS are more nimble belly mowers.

Wow, Duc. After looking at your great pics (nice two-wheelers, BTW) I just realized that you are pitting a Cub Cadet Garden tractor with a blower against a CUT with a blade. Sure you want to do that???

Locusts are one tough kinda wood,thats why they were about all used up around this area,used for fence posts,I don't know how deep they are rooted,but they root easy,a green,[and not fresh],locust post will start growing,with out any man type help,and the wood is hard on chain saws,so what you are saying makes since to me,generally speaking,if you leave 4 or 5 ft. of stump,it will give you leverage worked loose with enough force and time,if you just got a few then buy you a new bar and chain and waste the one you got on your saw now,cutting them down about flush,enough where you can mow over,if you got more,might need a backhoe and a dozer,if the stumps are 3 or 4 ft high,might get by with just a dozer. My BX23 was the first time I did business with a tractor dealer. Wish I had known some give away things. My dealer never offered anything. Maybe they don't do that for the small rigs.

How about this one! I'm green to that question. One of the things Kubota is kind of coping deere inis the full frame tractor design. Sorry about this. But instead of making big molds for cast iron which has a high failure rate do to sand,temperatures and many other uncontrolables. they are making frames and using machined metal more installed and protected by the frame. Back to the hitch. Many of the new tractors just use external hydraulic cylinders to move the arms. The cylinder for years has been casted in the top housing of the rearend which was also cast iron. I would wonder that you can't convert it over but I would do more studing to move up to the Quarter inching control as a better system. You should try it as I think you would find it so simple and accurate.

Kabota, I know where your talking about,there is alota limestone rocks up around your part of w.va., you don't see em like that down here in summers county,there are no coal mines,[that I'm aware of] in summers county either,under ground or strip.Summers county is located inbetween Beckley and Roanoke VA.,about 1/2 hr. from lewisburg,which is in greenbriar county,where the statefair is held each year,the county seat is Hinton,pop. about 5,000,[I would guess,probably not that many],we have pipestem state park,bluestone dam and lake,bluestone state park,the greenbriar river and the new river run through here,they whitewater raft starting at hinton,two golf courses,many several thousand acres of public land,to go hunting on or hiking/camping,home of the john henry legend,you know that steel driving man,no 4 lane highways,no crime,[unless somebody gets drunk and shoots his brother],there are a total of 4 fast food places in hinton,2 grocery stores and a magic mart.You know,almost heaven? Thought I'd brag a little,everytime somebody says w.va.,somebody thinks coal mines,coal dust etc. You can also still afford to buy a house and some land here,we gave 65,000 for our place 11 years ago,nice older home with 31 acres,and hardly any rocks sticking up out of the ground. Prices havn't went up all that much since,unless you want a river front,and I can't figure out why anyone would want that,on the greenbriar namely,I think it is one of,if not the longest rivers east of the missisippi,that has no dam or flood control of any kind on,it starts up at spruce knob and runs into the new river here at hinton. I am not that far from you and I can tell you the ground is HARD right now. I was out working today with the tractor filling some ruts in the horse field that had been mcreaqted by hoofs and the tratcor last during the rain. The ruts had frozen and become "ankle breakers". Also because of the rain, my dirt pile is like stone. I had to use another pile which is a topsoil/manure mixture to fill the ruts as the FEL wouldn't dig the pure dirt pile. I am sure your hoe will dig with some effort but the FEL may bounces off the ground like it was solid rock. I also broke some ice up by hand with a maul and due to the ammount of moisture in the frozen earth when I missed and hit ground it bouced off with out even scratching the dirt!

With temps around -5 tonight the weekend doesn't seem like the ideal time for a digging project with a cabless CUT.

My advice: kick back and watch the NFL playoffs this weekend! :)

You said your permit goes until April, I am sure it will be much warmer and easier on you and the tractor before then.

TBKEEFER,your post is about three years old so..... as far as the extended warrenty,it applies anywhere,any garage or mechanic that you get to work on it,northern will send the parts and pay the repair bill,or thats what I was told,now I'm sure there is a ceiling or standard rate limit for the labor,my local INDEPENDANT green and red dealers who have mechanics and garages,both said they would work on it,they didn't say their rates,but to them it was just work to be had. If you could find a mechanic that could just come to your house and work on it,that would work also. Any place that works on diesel trucks would be able to handle it also. So if you think about it,it may be easier getting warrenty work done on a nortrac then on a johndeere. Richard

Its amazing as how many names the Jinma name for one goes by. I know of at least 8 that are sold in this country alone.and that doesn't include the other China brands. They might not be pretty and sophisicated as many, but they sure do have plenty of power and can take abuse which I've done without mercy. Kinda reminds me of the "timex" ad.

1.5 is thinner than NGLI #2. I would not use thinner lubricant except in very cold conditions.
