Sounds a bit like my '53 Chevy that used to lock in second occasionally. It just took pulling up on the 2nd gear-shifting lever to fix it but I was still happy it didn't happen very often. If the problem persists and it's a worn detent ball, I did hear a story where somebody fixed up one on an old Ford by welding on the ball. He said it worked pretty well but I'd probably look a new part if one could be found at a realistic price.

I think you will find that it is a very good hoe. MAny people say to get the full subframe but that causes other problems with lower ground clearence trubles going on and off trailers do to the lower frame dragging and just a bigger unit tohave to store. Kubota does recommend that unit as a package and for there backing of it I feel it's as good as the rest.

I do have a 2200BX with a 48" tiller on it as the fellow was swapping down, but I've sold a couple with the 42" and they all live in stoneland central NY. Kubota's mower deck is the same as the larger B-series decks for the most part and if you look at the drive system you will see with the double wide belts why people get years out of them. The BX is a suspended deck unlike on it's larger brothers on the B-series where it is a ground engaging deck.

I know nothing about the Mitsubishi line, but know of a MT250D 4x4 for sale (and I'm in the market for something about this size, although this would be on the small side for sure). I understand it is a 3 cyl. diesel (22 hp), a 9F-3R gear box, rear PTO and std. Class 1 three point and weighs about 2000 lbs and was made between '83 and '88. Do I have the correct specs? Any things I should be aware of with the make/model? Any opinions as to what the comparable Kubota would be as far as size? L2720-ish? Seller is asking $4k and claims it is 12 years old (so 1991 or 1992, but I question that if the last year this model was made was '88).<br>

I am looking for a pto driven rotary broom/sweeper for my 3pth. I do not want one that has a collection unit, just the broom. From what I have seen of a few brands, the broom bottom rolls towards the tractor, throwing all the dust and debris at the rear of the machine. If the tool was not using the pto, I would not be concerned, but I don't want that abraisive material near a moving piece of eqp.(pto shaft). I would like one that rotates the other way sending the material away from the tractor, which means I would have to operate in reverse, but thats OK. Anyone have any experience with these brroms have any brand suggestions or observations?

I must add that I cut a lot of steel 1/4 to 3/4 inches thick and I use 10lbs gas to 40 lbs air. I have never had to adjust this mix for anything that falls into this range. 5 and 30 works for me for anything lighter than 1/4"

Does anyone know if Kubota has a bagger for this model? I currently have 2 acres of mowing plus some light bush hoging. Am considering a BX2230 vs a B7610HSD. But have been unable to determine that there is a bagger available for the BX2230. Any thoughts on the pros and cons of these two models. I have been using a B7100 for 20 years.

I'll have to check into that. My local BP/Amoco sells only the 40 cetane diesel. I wish they had the Premium diesel. I would like to try it and compare.

I bought a TC45D4 on 8/23/00 with a five foot Bushog 285 cutter. Added 16LA loader w/ 72" bucket 4/12/01. Industrial tires. No SuperSteer. 150 hours. A friend of mine is interested in buying it. What would be a fair price for me to sell at? Thank you for any help you can provide. Eric

King Kutter has a line of implements called the BX series that are set up perfectly for the Cat0/Cat1 three points. This series is not on their website, but a brochure is available at TSC. TSC can order them for you. About the same price as the standard sized implements. They are not as deep as the standard implements and fit really well on the shorter tractors.

I've asked this before, but still looking for help. Can anyone tell me the secret to removing the instrument panel in my B7800 to replace panel lights. I'm sure there is an easy way to access the lights, but the operators manual isn't very helpful. Anyone help....?

I recently purchased a used BM6-900 that was in really good shape for $1200. Included the drum style Chipper (up to 6" dia), a separate shredder/mulcher (humus material up to 1") chute and large discharge pipe By good shape I mean that the knives were sharp and the exterior had weathering and rust from setting outside. I sanded it down and put a new coat of paint and good as new. Befco will also send you a manual free of charge. I have a Kubota 3130 so it's way more chipper than I have tractor, but I can chip hardwoods such as hickory and oak up to 2" in diamenter (all my tractor can handle). I cut anything larger into firewood. I like the large feeder hole because it can accomodate a limb that has branches so you don't have to cut into smaller sections. Once it grabs onto the branch it usually pulls it in, but not in a way that you have to be worried about losing an arm. I've never used another chipper so I can't give a comparison, but I can tell you this is a horse and really love it.

An old landscaper/manson trick is to take black plastic. Place it over the area you want to work on. Leave it there for a day and the ground in no longer frozen. If it still is leave it for another day. The later in the day the more likely its isn't frozen. The sun's heat is absorbed by black and heats up the ground underneath. I use this all the time. I don't have a backhoe so a shovel has to have soft ground. Don't worry the backhoe is comming.

The soft ground will reduce the stress placed on the machine. Also reduce your fustration.
