Did the 50 hour lube/filter change on my L3130 over the weekend. It took about 2 hours outside including the grease points (~30 deg F). Everything went pretty smoothly but I did have to scramble for empty drain buckets. Eleven gallons of hyd fluid is alot when you're laying under your tractor in the snow and you have a 3/4" diameter flow of warm oil coming out. I did keep the fresh hydraulic fluid, engine oil, and front axle lube inside overnight and that helped. <br>

Because the overflow check is near the filler the front axle seemed to fill with less than four quarts of lube (needs almost 7). At first I thought that I didn't drain it all but it was just too thick to make it's way from the left to the right side of the axle. After using it for a few minutes I was able to add another three quarts.

You are correct in stating the dangers of the radio frequency. You can go blind having it in your constant view. Remember when police used to lay the guns in their laps while waiting for speeders. Allot of cops got cancer of the XXXs. Our other engineer at the shop is a member of the Power Squadron(Boat guys). He'll bring in some tech info from their books. I'll post it tomorrow if he remembers.

One of the reasons that I pulled back from the under floor retro fit systems (the area I was considering has marble tile) Is that I would dry out the plywood. Depending on the type of wood on the floor the system could really do some damage.
I have room for the heat exchanger on the heat pump and therefore was considering this system. The old house had it set up this way and it was comfortable.

I have the 24 foot sealings also but have a fan at the top. I don't find the room much different than the rest of the house.
The pellet stoves have improved yearly. The unit I have is far less effecient than the new system. I have my system in the basement and run it through the wall as it is a walk out on that side. There are a number of options.
The propane is an option although the only propane I have is for the gas stove top. I really did not want a large tank just for occasional work.
My heat pump also heats the domestic hot water and therefore have two separate tanks. As the heat pump heats the water most of the time I have only electric tank to keep the second tank warm after heating.

The Paris-Dakar rally is on! It is being covered on the Speed channel. On my Dish system, there is a half hour update in the morning and late afternoon. Next Saturday they are going to be playing all the updates back to back. The segment title only says "Auto Racing" so you may have to dig into the information a bit to find it. <br>

The loader relief pressure valve is set at 1780 psi.

Mark, the splitter head is normally amde up of 3 pieces of steel, sort of a splitting sandwich, except they come together at about a 25-30 degree angle. The center piece protrudes out in front of the two side plates by about 1" which is sharpened to a cutting edge of usually 45 degrees. This center plate is hard steel like that used for B/H buckets, cutting edges on FEL buckets, and wear edges on snowplows. I have a ready supply of them myself from our worn down plow facings.

I believe Northern Tools sells them also, if not any welding shop which does heavy equipment work will have the steel in stock.

Likewise any hydraulic supply shop will handle the cylinders, valves, etc., but IMHO half the fun of doing it yourself is scrounging for parts (it's also cheaper, the farmer in me comes out, LOL). Heavy equipment wreckers are good sources for big cheap cylinders. Scrap steel, I mean well seasoned steel, is a good start for the frame, most scrap yards are full of lengths of large H beams (sometimes called I beams) from demolished buildings, normally it sold by the pound for a little over scrap value.

Sounds high to mee too. I paid somewhere in the mid-high 16's (can't remember the exact figure, I purchased my tractor last June) for my B7800 with R4's, LA 402 loader, and 72" MMM.

A logging update: My spruce plot is pretty well thinned. The trees were so thick that I could not fell any, the canopy was locked together at the top. I had to cut each one off completely (almost never recommended) and yank the base of the tree out with the tractor. By the end I could grab 2-3 at a time. Those I took ranged from 5" to 16" at the base leaving mostly 8-20 inch trees. This thinning should really benefit the plot in 20 years or so. I should take another 3-4 cords out but I have one truckload now (~14 cords) and I wouldn't have enough for two. Oh yes, the kubota performed flawlessly.

When you have done it a couple of times it should take no more then 5 minutes to remove the hoe and install the three point hitch.

The L-series is heavier then the B-series, larger in size as well as options are different. The GST is a power shift type tractor transmission that works like the larger farm tractors. It does have a power shuttle that is hydraulic and you don't need the clutch to operate for forward and reverse. This type transmission was first introduced to the compact tractor industry another first by Kubota back in the 80's and they are still the only company to offer something like it. The B-series is more manuverable and will go into places the L won't.

Tom, don't forget that in the case of a CUT, the reservoir is also the transmission and rear-end. Since heat, like most else in nature, wants to be in balance with it's surroundings the tendancy is for the TX / Rear-end case to try to heat to the same temp as the TDH fluid is at, this in turn will off course be given off to the atmosphere turning the whole back half of the CUT into an oil cooler.

755 with 341 hours. It bogs down going up even a slight hill using the mower to the point of stalling without a hint of smoke. Downhill runs fine. I thought it might not be getting full fuel flow. Changed fuel filter. Supply pump OK. Good flow to the injection pump. Injection pump and injectors tested at diesel shop. All excellent. Governor appears fine. Spins up to proper speed, no surging. I have both engine and chassis manuals, everything appears to be at spec. One question is the fuel controller on the back of the governor. There is nothing in either manual that says how to adjust it. Anyone know? Could it be a hydraulic flow problem? Seems like low hours for that. Any input to this puzzler is welcome.

The KAMA is a design by Worldbest Kama, a consortium of Chinese manufacturers who got together to develope products that would appeal to the world market. The factory that produces the tractor for us is the largest producer of mid size tractors for the domestic market with 60% market share and over 25,000 units per year. I have these on the ground and would invite you to come see. IMO the casting quality and overall workmanship exceeds the more popular Chinese brands sold in the US, the engines are easy starting direct injection and the gearboxes are constant mesh for easier shifting.

Is the 40HP testing requirement based on gross or PTO HP? send me your email address and I can send you some additonal info. A 40HP version of the KM is also available.
