That is absolutely bad business practice! He should know the best way to get equipment sales is through parts and service. However, this can happen when you don't buy from from your local guy! How much higher was he? I hope you didn't sell him out for $100!!!

I have been complaining to me dealer for some time now about the long debated problem with front tire scuffing on the 4200-4400 Deere tractors. My dealer advised me today that Deere is not going to make any changes on the tractors in operation. Deere plans a redesign for tractors in the future. When that will be me dealer was not certain. To me this is totally unacceptable. I think all of us who own these tractors should write a letter to Deere demanding a resolution to the problem with our tractors. We should not have to trade a low hour tractor on a new one next year to resolve this problem. Deere has an obligation to resolve this problem. Frankly, I am surprised that Deere is taking this position. I have purchased Deere garden and compact tractors dating back to the early 80s. They have always stood behing their products. I would appreciate any comments from 4000 owners who feel as strongly as I do about this problem.

NH customer service doesn't exist. Make sure you find a delaer who will stand by the product beacuse the factory doesn't care.

For $1000 I think your going to be hard pressed to find a used maintained mower. If it was well maintained then it still works<br>and there is little need to get rid of it. I checked our local market and could find little if anything in the $1000 price tag that<br>wasnt a year old MTD/murry class machine. The local dealers have used gear but its still expensive and usually came out<br>of commercial service and has many many hours on it. Dont sell the MTD class machines short. No they are not JD quality, but they are also<br>not JD prices either. Do you pay $10000 for a JD that last 10 years or a $1000 for an MTD that last 2 years. Heck you can buy <br>the MTD every 2 years, beat it to death, sell it for a few hundred and still come out ahead dollarwise.

Ken - I just made the choice of the B1700, over the B7300 ( the $3000 decision), and I made it not for the power steering, which I could take or leave, but because I think the 1700 will last longer. Look under the hood on both machines side by side. On the 1700, the firewall is stiff, solid plastic with a rubber gasket all around the edge. On the 7300, it is more like styrofoam. The radiator screen is heavy mesh on the 1700, hardware screen on the 7300. 900cc motor doing the same work as a 700cc motor only makes sense it will last longer. All of these are small points, but I think they all point to the same thing, which is that wherever Kubota could save a buck in manufacturing the 7300 they did, whereas they went top shelf with the 1700. Just my opinion. If I could get a non-power steering 1700 for $1500 less than the machine I bought, I would have, but I wanted the better quality so I got the PS by default.<br>Love my machine so far.<br>good luck,<br>Paul

I am looking for a compact trator. A local JD dealer has a ford 110 forsale. Tractor is a 1984 (or 87) model, 400hrs, <br>diesel, 11/13 HP It looks good and is a local trade in. Anyone care to guess as to the value?<br>

You may want to check to make sure that the valve that controls the drop rate is<br>all the way open. I know if I don't adjust this when switching between the <br>Mower, and the digger it has trouble starting up. Whne set up right, it will <br>dig wonderfully<br>Hope this helps,<br>Pete

Alex<br>I have traded the Kubota without the BushHog for a new NH 3415. I decided to keep the mower. My New Holland Dealer, Mr. Jimmy Henson at Henderson Tennessee still had the Kubota as of Saturday. It is a 1997 model with 26 hrs, he is asking $8200, but would probably go a little lower. This tractor looks and is new, I just needed a larger tractor for hay work, etc. If interested give Jimmy a call, he is a fine man and a pleasure to do business with.
