I used to cut my pastures with a Cub 154 Lo Boy. It had the original MMM that came on it new. Did a good job but was just getting too old to keep up. Was a good little tractor.

Do I need a JD 42104WD or go smaller

Hold on there Chief. Not all plastics glass reinforced plastics are suitable for diesel containers. Even HDPE (high density polyethylene) is not the best for long term storage. Gas tanks normally have chlorinated layers to reduce migration of organics through the tank.
Some plastics like PVC will rapidly deteriate in diesel.
What I think you are thinking of reinforce fiberglass need to use the correct resins or you are also headed for a melt down. The correct polyester resins are not cheap.
I don't believe there is any problem with aluminum tanks. Some brass fittings are a problem as they contain zinc but many older tractors had copper lines and fittings.

Visited the local Kubota dealer and got a price on a L3130, HST with R4's. It had a LA513 Loader and 66" square back bucket. Price quoted me was $17,100.<br>

How does this price sound to those that have purchased? What about this 513 loader? I see that most L's are fitted with the 723 loader. Any disadvantage going with the 513?<br>

I saw the picture from the angle out the door I suspected they started in the hanger. The Helio would do that with with maybe the tail in the door.
I never flew a beaver with out floats but have seen them take off with floats empty and a 15 mph head wind in one length of the plane.
Have you ever seen a Buffalo make a full STOL landing and takeoff? One plane length each and this is a big plane.
I am not sure you could get me to cough up 500K for a Maule turbo. I guess I would look at something a little more rugged if I was going to spend that much. I guess Beaver are near that now though and not exactly new.

Richard, you're right on about playing around at home. I can weld OK with my Lincoln 220 AC welder, but the MIG is new to me. Still, I enjoy learning about some of the mixed gases. Books will only get you so far.

I'll probably end up using argon for the thin aluminum, and flux core wire for sheet steel. And still use the big arc welder for fixing my back blade, which I seem to break every time I use it:-)

Ron, I've played with both, even the lower grade Puma will out blow the best of the Allied/Buelher in the Central NY area. Harveys is the better built unit and as far as I know one of the best built. The only reason I say that is I haven't seen any comparable unit yet to equal them.

Mike, I got your email. I replied to your questions as best I could but on further thought; I would think that if you hook up your hydraulics so there is a complete circuit return flow, you would not need the power beyond kit I was speaking of. I also sent you the L245F Parts Manual. Be patient, it is over 1.6 Mb and will take a while to download. I am hoping the parts manual will help you identify the components you need.

Hi and thanks for the reply. I don't know how I could use the glow plugs longer than the proper amount of time though the thought has crossed my mind. On my 7265 the first position to the right on the ignition switch heats the glow plugs. When the yellow indicator light on the control panel goes out after aprox 5 seconds I turn the ignition switch to the start position. This is all there is to it and she fires up if the glow plugs are working like they should. I'm so stranger to diesel tractors. My Kubota is 10 yrs old and I have never had a problem with its glow plugs. In warm weather I may only have to glow plug the engine once unless I leave the tractor sit all day long from its first use of the day. I hope it was just a bad batch of glow plugs. Maybe they were manufactured out of the wrong type of material or something, I don't know, thanks.

The 1050 is a very reliable tractor. What model loader does it have? There are a couple of possible deere models. Or is it an aftermarket one? What size and weight are your round bales? A 1050 definitely will not handle large round bales safely. Smaller ones probablly can be handled if tractor is properly ballasted. One thing to be aware of on a 1050 is the clutch is very expensive to replace. Keep that in mind when dickering on price if clutch does not feel good. Usually the first sign of a worn clutch on these is difficulty releasing the pto clutch or inability to engage pto without scraping gears.

The narrowest position is not acceptable for the rear wheels with R1�s according to my owner�s manual. Mine is a L3300 so it might be different. The disk should be angled away from the tractor and the rim would be bolted to the outside of the disk. On mine that would give you 48� You might have to re- mount your tires on the rims to abtain this!

How easy are these decks to remove? I know the one on my B8200 is not easy and is real heavy for one person to deal with. Is the 54" that much easier as stated previously because of 6" less width?

I agree that it would be best to change the fuid when changing out the fluid, but Deere's instructions do say to use the old fluid over, but they also recommend using their "oil cart". This special tool is a pump and filter system that is very effective in cleaning up any impurities in the oil. If your dealer does not have this tool, I would definitely use new oil, even if I had to pay for it myself.

I have a MF GC2300 - very similar to BX2200. My dealer just installed 2 55W front-facing lights on top of the ROPS, and one 35W rear-facing on the rear fender. Installation was functional, not fancy. U-clamps onto ROPS for fronts, and just bolted on to the fender for the rear. I know the installation is pretty simple, but I had a few qualms/questions and I figured since I have a 2 year warranty on the tractor, I wouldn't risk voiding it (somehow...).

As for the lights, I've used 'em once in snow, and again tonight in rain. In all honesty, I think the rear should have been mounted higher (maybe also on the ROPS, but lower down) and angled down, but I can live with this. Front-facing lights are great. Makes a huge difference for visibility. Good luck!

I have one of the first automatic 2003 quad-cab 4x4 2500 high-output diesels (305 hp and 555lb.ft torque). Compared to my '99 with 240hp, this one is a screamer. "Throttle" response is close to that of a gas engine--virtually no turbo lag. I can pull an 8,000 lb. skidloader with 1000lb. of attachments plus the 2,500 lb. trailer with power to spare in overdrive. When it comes to snow plowing here in Michigan it barely slows down under load.

well, i did it...i just picked up my new TC-35D w/16LA an all steel 18' trailer with brakes, a 6' rhino brushhog, and a 6' cammond box blade...tires filled and top and tilt remotes all for the bargain price of $23,200. I hope the wife can share a little attention because i think i have two loves now. thank you all for your help.<br>
