I've narrowed my search. I eliminated NHTC29D, the price was higher than Kubota or JD, JD is offering rebates, 0 financing for three years, which cuts the bill for me by 1500 dollars off the bat. Priced out a 4210, hydro, 4WD, MMM, loader with quick attach bucket and quick attached JD 6' front blade. Attaches quickly to the loader boom arms, very slick. Offers hydro side to side, up and down, and tilt as well. MMM is a 60 inch. I haul manure, in winter snow, need the power and traction. Kubota BX series is "cute" but too low to the ground, not enough snap..I'd have to go with the Kubota 2910. It has a similar price really, both dealers are nearby. Can anyone tell me, about using the snow blade on the loader arms, good feature or nightmare? seems good to me so far. I know the deck is the 7 IRON 7 mill quality JD Deck..the snow plow is strong as an ox. The tires will be loaded, on the JD.. <br>

I have heard and read that the 4210 is a bugger to put the MMM on and off, any comments to help me or share? I am about settled on the JD 4210. Wife likes that two pedal gas and reverse, can't handle that large, single pedal on Kubota..hurts her ankles after a few minutes of backing, going forward. This is a new game for me, I've been an "antique" Farmall man for years, it is time I get some good ole' power steering and comfort of use, and traction to move that spreader out..and to mow the five acres of grass, and also pasture about 4 times a year to a height of about 4 or 5 inches..I READ that the JD 4210 mower has a POOR LIFT RANGE..so my two questions are this in a nutshell:<br>

l. Will that snow plow on the loader arms be a problem? It's similar to a Curtis quick attach.<br>

2. Will that JD Deck lift at least 5 inches off the ground to mow pasture? Any real problems out there with the 4210 I am not aware of? Thanks so much..for anyone's time in replying. I've always been a RED POWER man, but the green one looks very good to me, and believe it or not, it is priced below the Kubota 2910 similarly equipped. Thanks..Please help me out here..we are talking 22 thousand bucks overall. I am not being cheap..just being careful.

I have a MF GC2300 - very similar to BX2200. My dealer just installed 2 55W front-facing lights on top of the ROPS, and one 35W rear-facing on the rear fender. Installation was functional, not fancy. U-clamps onto ROPS for fronts, and just bolted on to the fender for the rear. I know the installation is pretty simple, but I had a few qualms/questions and I figured since I have a 2 year warranty on the tractor, I wouldn't risk voiding it (somehow...).

As for the lights, I've used 'em once in snow, and again tonight in rain. In all honesty, I think the rear should have been mounted higher (maybe also on the ROPS, but lower down) and angled down, but I can live with this. Front-facing lights are great. Makes a huge difference for visibility. Good luck!

The Kubota bagger is awesome, especially for picking up leaves. I moved up from a 100 series Deere, with 38"deck and power flo. Huge improvement, especially on a large lot. I can move lots of snow with the FEL. I've got a rear blade set to scrape off what spills over the loader. As other people have pointed out, lights on the ROPS when plowing are a good idea. BTW, the loader is an absolute joy.

I have one of the first automatic 2003 quad-cab 4x4 2500 high-output diesels (305 hp and 555lb.ft torque). Compared to my '99 with 240hp, this one is a screamer. "Throttle" response is close to that of a gas engine--virtually no turbo lag. I can pull an 8,000 lb. skidloader with 1000lb. of attachments plus the 2,500 lb. trailer with power to spare in overdrive. When it comes to snow plowing here in Michigan it barely slows down under load.

I expect that the Maule with a 180 HP engine performs similarly to a Cessna 182 with STOL. I flew one down a runway at about 35 MPH. The difference between airborne and landing was just the setting on the CS prop.

The thing that I really like about the Maule, however is that it will easily handle the Lycoming IO540 engine which generates somewhere around 240 HP at sea level. Combine the taildragger configuration with a 3 blade CS prop and some decent tires and you have a pretty good rough field plane that is good for fairly short takeoffs and landings. If you have a spare $500K sitting around you can even get a turboprop engine.

Maule used to have an advertising picture of an MX5 that was airborne coming out of the hanger door. I thought that it was a nice advertising picture. It turns out that it is real. I have been to the hanger where the photo was taken in Georgia. They don't do that anymore because on one attempt they clipped the top of the rudder on the top of the door opening. No crash occurred, but it ruined the day for a bunch of people.

well, i did it...i just picked up my new TC-35D w/16LA an all steel 18' trailer with brakes, a 6' rhino brushhog, and a 6' cammond box blade...tires filled and top and tilt remotes all for the bargain price of $23,200. I hope the wife can share a little attention because i think i have two loves now. thank you all for your help.<br>

Some of you probably remember that I did not like the NH hydrostat when I was looking at buying a tractor a couple of years ago. I was down at the NH dealer this AM to make sure that he made enough money for the year to have a nice holiday dinner and I looked at a new TC40D that was on the lot. The hydro pedals are not the same as when I bought my TC45. Now the hydro is controlled with the right foot and the brakes with the left. This is the way it should be in my opinion and is a change in configuration from when I initially looked at this size tractor. So, as far as I know the big three all have similar HST and brake controls. I did not drive the tractor, but I am sure that it works fine. <br>

I have been vocal enough about not liking the HST when I bought my NH that I thought that it was only fair to let everyone know that it looks like NH has changed.

I built the CADDigger 728 about 7 y ago, and I used it extensively. It works OK for what it was intended to do, but I have had to modify the design a bit to ruggedize it. I have the version that is towable and has its own engine and hyd pump. Now I am adapting a Woods 7500 clone to various compact tractors. I am buying several Prairie Dog
7.5s and plan to use tractor hydraulics. Costs have come way down in the past few years. My CADDigger cost me about
$2000, and I used my own engine and wheels and free labor. I can buy a better-engineered 3-pt hoe for a little over $4K now, without frame mount or separate hyd pump/res.

This is the exact reason to find a good dealer close by. If you bought your tractor from accross the country, guess who's tractor will be fixed first your's or the guy who bought from this dealer? Also the dealer may offer to do the 50 hour service at no or a reduced cost. Just one more example why it is so important to have a good dealer.

Hey, I emailed Woods (no response) then called them about frame mounts for their 7500 on the JD 955, Kubota L2550, and Kubota L3010. They said that they would not provide anything but the list price. No specs, no pix, no manuals.
Too bad.

My local Kubota dealer has one of the new "4-point" frame mounts for the current L3130 tractors, and its very impressive. Also priced at nearly 1 G.

Looks like I will custom make the mounts.

Murf, perhaps my terminology was a bit off. Same result and reasons why. When the zinc lining of a galvanized container is breached; eventually the zinc will start to become disbonded. Along with the gum, acids, gel, and crud....flaking. It is all bad and stops up the filters and wreaks havoc if prevailent enough.

"The metals to avoid are copper and its alloys, such as monel; and zinc, usually found in galvanized coatings on steel tanks and pipes. Copper greatly speeds gum formation. Zinc, in the presence of water, can form a zinc hydroxide gel which rapidly plugs filters. Zinc can also react with
tiny amounts of weak organic acids in diesel/heating fuels to form compounds which foul injectors and burners.

The material of choice for all fuel storage and piping systems is glass-reinforced plastic. Black iron piping is the second best choice.

Existing galvanized or plain steel tanks can sometimes be successfully coated with epoxy paint, but the coating must be perfect or pinhole leaks can develop."

When TIG and aluminim get mentioned together, it requires another two cent contribution. With TIG, you need to use a constant current power supply and reverse polarity or AC on aluminum. The reverse polarity precleans the aluminum when using TIG, but overheats the TIG torch. AC is preferred, because it cleans on one half cycle and welds on both while keeping the torch cooler. The torch must be directed forward into the metal to be fused to get maximum cleaning benefit. (opposite of normal technique for steel) The power supply for a MIG welder is constant voltage and is generally not used for TIG.

Reverse polarity is the standard setup for MIG. For TIG it is only used on metals like Aluminum, Magnesium and so forth. Straight polarity (electrode negative) is the most common connection for TIG on other metals. Straight polarity can be used on MIG, but it is only common on some flux cored wires. I have never used AC current for MIG.

Me too! That is what got me into this business, I started out serviceing and then selling machine tools, and have always tinkered on "collectible" cars, the chinese tractor business just seemed natural. Now we are handling everything from Farm Pro (Jinma), KAMA, Lenar, Long and Kioti! Sometimes your dreams unfold quicker than you can react! Truth is not everyone needs the same thing out of a tractor, now we have a little something for almost everyone. My only question, is how long till spring!

I was wondering if anyone knew any history on this model tractor. I am looking at buying one for my hobby farm to do some bush hogging and snowblowing. I was wondering if anyone also might know the lift capacity of the loader? I would like to move roundbales once in a while with it. Any info would be appreciated.

You have complicated the equation by throwing in the GST. The only place you would notice the difference is operating the PTO's. Both tractors weigh the same so there would be little to no difference in the pulling power and I doubt it could be noticed. The GST would give sharper power to the ground so wheel spin might be increased given certain circumstances. Now if you are looking at the factory cab, then we have a big difference. AT least in comfort.
