Randy, my C - Ku dish is a 2m (6 footer) and my DTV is a 30cm (12") unit.

The LNB is more critical than is the dish size with the newer equipment.

Are you running a VCII+ unit ?

Ask him which one he has the most amount of warrantee work on! That will seperate it out for you quite quickly if repairs are a factor for you. As always during warrantee period you might miss the tractor for a day or two but later it will be easier to sit in the seat when it is around as your wallet will be thinner. Maybe the tractor will fit you better who knows. As a dealer we don't want to miss out on the profit dollars either and honestly just ordered a bunch of them. We've been studing Kubota fore the last couple of years and they don't leave much room for us to make any aftersales profit for about 20 years. NH gives us plenty of room to grow in the shop from updates and repairs needed.

Lets see a used tractor with a short dealer applied waranty with possible a major repair and a owner that is irrate as they delayed service already, guess?
I am sure they are going to try and recoup all the money they can, but it might be better for them to use the installment plan, if they want to keep their customers.
I am not sure that they could have predicted or tested for this problem and I am sure that they went on percentages when they applied the waranty.
Maybe we jinxed the system as there were some comments on fewer posts of major trouble for Kubotas on another thread.
Might be time to work a real deal (ie steal) on a new tractor.

One way to see if it's the brakes is to get it going at a relatively good speed and step on the clutch petal and see how fast it stops.

I pressure washed the tractor. The leak is at the bottom of the sight glass on the right side of transmission. Thanks for your input.

Wow! Got interrupted to many time sand didn't look back at the heading! I don't know how much choice you will have right now till next year. The BX front blower has a lot of volume and distance.

I also looked at dealers outside of my state to save money on the purchase of a new TC-40D. But then I weighed the service problem and bought local.

I don't recommend purchasing out of state unless you do have a way to transport your new rig to a local dealer. Most of the servicing agents will handle their regulars 1st, over someone who did not support them in the transaction.

It is my understanding that when doing a warranty repair they are reimbursed by NH on a flat rate labor basis for the repair. So there isn't a lot of money in warranty repair like one might think. They need to make a profit on the sale to pay the bills and be there when you need them the most.

What tune does your TC-33D sing anyway? My TC-40D sings I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas.

The noise that you are experiencing is called harmonics. It is amplified by the cold weather keeping the hydraulic oil heavy as it circulates through all that cold steel. That is why it decreases as your HST warms up. Try letting the NH warm up a bit at an RPM above idle for a few minutes before you start your winter duties, that should help.

I have heard of some folks eliminating the problem by substituting synthetic hydraulic oil for the original. I am not going to waste my time or money since I like the tune it�s singing anyway.

Eric I have a TC-40D and you would do very well with one. It is set up with R4s, Supersteer, Quick-attach FEL, Backhoe, fiberglass canopy, wheel weights, 3-point weights and a lot of other goodies.

The DVD will be replaced in a few years with something smaller that holds more information. That is how technology works. When something comes out everyone says that this is here to stay, etc. Look how fast they are increasing speeds on computers now. If you buy a top of the line computer, within 6 months it will become a middle of the line computer. I'm sorry to inform you that the same is true of your Sony camera. Next year at this time, it will be an after thought. Congratulations on your camera as it sounds like a very nice piece of equipment and I am glad to hear that they are finally improving the quality of digital video cameras. I'm curious as to the effect that the shock has on the camera recording to DVD. You know like CD's skip sometimes, what happens if you bump the camera, does it affect the recording or is it pretty shock resistent?
Tractors are the same way. I'm sure Art or Murf could tell you some stories about old tractors they have seen and the Technology that is there today. And as far as burning pictures to CD's or DVD's, I do burn my pictures to CD's as stated in a previous post but I wanted the larger hard drive for organizing my wife's photo albums which you can not do with a bunch of DVD's or CD's.
I appreciate your view and thank you for appreciating my view. I think this original thread was about a digital camera and I believe the decision was made so I am glad I could help that person make a decision and now consider this thread closed on my part.

Murf maybe right my lever on the MF has no feel and moves freely until you push it in to engage in high or low. Many PTOs spin while not being engaged.

The biggest killer for any chipper, or anything else you would use for cutting wood for that matter, is dirt.

The biggest nastiest chipper in the world will be useless after a few muddy, sandy branches go through.

I use a Pete chipper myself around the house and cottage (see pic. # 12), but for the big stuff commercially we use a tub-style grinder (see pic. # 4). They are hardly 'homeowner' calibre but will accept rocks as readily as stumps or anything else.

Generally 3pth chippers are not really a fast way of dealing with branches, especially if you have any volume, they can be too slow for a big job, but sometimes they are the only practical method.

Dragging brakes has been the explanation for several similar problems discussed here. Sounds like you are lugging the engine and that's something to avoid. It's also important to sort out whether it's the HST or the engine has lost power.

I can't recall if this Cub has an HST that achieves its max ground speeds by changing the pump displacement to max and the motor to minimum and without a geared range section. I think Art mentioned that there is such a design used on some Cubs. Running such a TX at max ground speeds does have efficiency problems that would add to heat loads so maybe backing off a bit would help. Power is going to be a bunch less if the oil heats and thins.
