I have a cadplan backhoe and for the amount of money I have in it, I feel it works great. Its small #608 (could be wrong with the number) but as a landscaper I can dig holes to plant trees.

Have you changed the fuel filter and cleaned the bowl also while doing this look for water condensation I would change fuel filters and add some time of fuel additive.

Duc, I'm not sure what sceeching you heard down there, but it sure wasn't the 'industry', at least not up here, it just isn't as public as it used to be.

The lawsuits back-fired BIG TIME so thats a non-starter.

You guys still have 'free' options too, it's just that you can't 'experiment' with an American system, it has to be a Canuck receiver.....

As for the other 'options' I just had angioplasty, I think I better take it easy for a while, besides if I want to watch bouncing plastic parts I can take my 'Bota for a drive, LOL.

Had a complaint afew years ago on one and found two problems. One his foot often was on the brake petal while on the hydro. The second problem was the linkages for the brakes was dry and they were hanging on from time to time. With the hydro's the brakes don't get used anywhere near what they are on the hydro's so they will hang up from time to time.

I have a hydraulic leak under the transmission housing area. The leak leaves a puddle under the transmission area on the ground. There are several hydraulic lines in that area. Is there a dye I can add to the fluid so I could trace the leak.. All the hydraulic systems are working, but need to top up the fluid daily. Tractor is Kioti LB 1914

TomG - your thinking about the flow splitter affording simultaneous operation of one function on each of the SCV's is right-on. One input from the pump is divided into two equal outputs.

I used a $75 spring-loaded splitter while the more sophisticated (expensive) ones truly meter the flow though gears like 2 hydraulic motors coupled together.

Dutch, Take a look at the belly mower of a Kubota, look at the belts and pulleys that run it. Look at the tractor as a whole, they both have there good points, some fit people better. The NH does have some issues with hydraulic noise as well as the battery area. They still are a good tractor and there are a lot of satified owners out there. I feel the NH is built as good as the rest of the compacts.

Ken, it was a matter of the relief valves. There was no maximum speed being attained here because at best we might have been able to hit 4-5 mph while using these tractors do to conditions present. I've often found demo's are quite interesting and the results can be astonishing. This is where the weight of the tractor could make a difference on the hydro or tires. After the deere didn't climb and just stopped everyone was wondering why, I did check the fluid and it was where it needed to be. I think many of you would be shocked on a heads up demo on like challanging turf! Ken, it really did all that it could!

If it's anything like my 4310 there is an electric diverter valve controlled by a switch that determines whether the joystick operates the FEL or rear outlets.

Tom there sure were lots of sparks and heat it took two blades to get the job done. I thought about using the lighter gauge fence post, but opted for the heavier pipe instead. It was harder to cut but I thought it would hold up better.<br>

I think that's a useful approach if a dealer is balky but it probably does lead toward eventual divorce.

I called the NH N.A. CS number once--not because I was unhappy with my dealer service. I had a tech question and just thought the dealer wouldn't have an answer and I could sort it out as well as they could. The CS people said call yor dealer. I wasn't thrilled to run around in loops but I called, and within a day or so I had my answer. I was happy enough and forgot about it. A month later I got a call from the CS people wondering if I was happy with my dealer's response. 'Sure was' I said. The follow up call surprised me and I guess that's the way all manufacturer CS works. If dealers didn't screen the questions, hiring enough CS operators. probably would cure unemployment.

Both my 4wd and my pto have the feeling of a small 'clunk' when they engage and something similar when they disengage. It's a definite feeling that something is locking and unlocking. When my 4wd linkage broke internally that feeling wasn't there. It was all free motion and the range of motion was quite a bit more.

If the lever moves and it all is free-play or the range has changed then I'd guess linkage or shift-fork. As in Art's comment, best to hope for a sheared pin where the lever goes onto the shaft otherwise a major tear-down is likely needed. However, the fact that it starts probably indicates that the fork is moving on the shift rail. At least I think that's where most safety interlocks are.

Once I didn't get a filter seated in the bottom of the bowl. It seemed to tighten up but it didn't seal. I noticed it as soon as I turned the shut-off valve back on but maybe something like that happened and you'll never see another leak. Auto-bled is nice--so said because it's something I don't have, and the pump is very fussy.

Thanks for the comments. I forgot that digital zoom doesn't work with max resolution. We're going to go with the 3.1 10x optical Finepics camera and we probably put enough on VISA yesterday push us over the points total. Sort of like a free Christmas present that isn't. It runs on 4 AA rechargables so maybe it's more free than most.<br>

It'll still be a point and click camera and my wife wouldn't use anything else. I suspect the PnC stuff won't be good enough for me and I'll end up spending too much time editing. The 2.1mp PnC we have now gives good enough resolution for most work but the white balance, contrast and saturation it produces just isn't right most times. Sometimes the focus is really messed up. Even the dumb one click photo fix in my editor improves most shots. The camera manual overrides require fiddling with a menu system on an LED screen that can't be seen in daylight. I just don't do it and spend time editing them instead. That's the better technology I'm waiting to come down to consumer products if it's even adequate in current pro cameras. Technology may always be changing but it does plateau sometimes. Surprising to me is that there's some commercial interest in what I'm doing so I might have to start thinking about my editing time. I expect technology will save me but maybe next year.
