Chief, local dealer is taking care of it.They ordered a rebuild kit. The dealer I bought my Kubota will not return phone calls until I called Kubota. HE was not happy. Once he got the money service went downhill

I think I'll make an assumption here and say that the temps probably are OK but point at maybe a design issue. I have to assume that the gauge would correctly indicate over-heating problems at the high end. It sounds like the combination of the gauge and sensor just has too much deflection. If it's designed to accurately indicate over-heating it then barely comes off the peg at the low end of the normal temp range. If that's the case the gauge is not very useful for detecting conditions like a thermostat stuck open.

If the problem was simply a centering issue it could be fixed by a trim resistor in the circuit, or a change in the ballast voltage might do it. At least I think most systems use a ballast voltage around 9V so gauges aren't affected by changing voltage from the alternator/regulator. Don't know but I think I'm guilty of intellectualizing this issue. Getting practical, I'd just measure the temp to make sure the engine isn't running too cold and then depend on smoke to tell me if the thermostat has a problem.

The one I looked at is a very impressive set up. And that 5500 has alot of the bells and whistles you have to add in for a aftermarket. The a/c would cost a bundle.

My only "concern", HOW MUCH IS THE REPLACEMENT GLASS?

Other than that and the local dealer, here, that would be the way to go. There is nothing like factory designed and fit.

JD needs to build one and soon.

You asked if the lever moves, no it does not. I tried a number of combinations, in and out of gear, clutch in etc., but no luck moving it.

I have R-4s and find them to be very good in the snow. I think your problem is the lack of weight in the front without a FEL and a blade on the back. I have a 500+ lb. rear weight and the FEL on my tractor and the R-4s give plenty of foward push. Wirh no weight on the front of your tractor it is probably like being in 2 WD. Are your fron tires spinning often???

Art, there are a couple of issues with that comparison. For one, the assumption that mid-range is "geared" the same on all tractors is invalid. Also, do you know if LoadMatch was enabled?

Hey Chief - ditto for me with Dish Network -- have had mine for over 4 years now with no major problems beyond the original remote dying this summer. Good timing on my neighbor's part though, as I saw the installation guy installing a new dish on their house not long after. I couldn't figure out why their dish was pointing SouthEast towards the Atlantic, when mine was pointing SouthWest towards the middle of the country (we are in NY State). Come to find out they had signed up for the "International Service" which now makes sense. While I was BS'ing with guy, I happened to mention my bum remote and ended up getting a free replacement from a unit he had in the back of his truck. No complaints from me!

The sports packages are weaker on Dish Network, but I have just seen them advertising for the equivalent of NFL Ticket for the NHL -- 5 dedicated channels with some ridiculous amount of games a year. I'm gonna call and see if I can join up mid-way thru this season. Go Bruins!

I've seen that on some home repair shows, but I think after the wife agreeing to buy a CUT, I would be hard pressed to justify hiring a contractor to do this job. This was just one of many projects she has on the list for the tractor. Moving stone and concrete/moving the dirt that was taken out for the stone Etc etc. I am in no rush to complete this. I figure I do a little when ever I have time and am out playing on my new tractor doing something else. It will be a good long term project. Thanks for the idea though. I may look into seeing if you can rent the mold. Then do all the prep and stone work in advance. Then just have them bring in a truck load of concrete and go that route. Time will tell

First click on myProfile at the top of the page. Under your profile you will see a bar that says "Click here to Modify or Add Photos to Album." You can find the picture you're looking for in the browse box. It has to be on your hard drive somewhere and be less than 30 Kb. You can usually see the size by highlighting the picture and waiting a few seconds (in your browser).

Once you select the image you want, click open then "upload image now." If it's larger than 30 K there are excellent instructions for downsizing it with MS Paint. You'll probably want to save it to another name so you have the original high res image.

Apparently my "trail" membership here is over so I can't read all of your post. The only reason I visited this site a year ago was to see if anyone else had a 110 and thats it. So I don't feel I should have to pay for this site when I can go to a free site and chat about equipment for nuttin'! There are a number of after market makers that will supply a loader for tractor. Buhler has a list on their web site for Allied, but likely Brush Hog and other have addaptors.

The Jinmas with shuttle shift (I believe it is non synchro meaning you have to come to a complete stop to change direction) are trickling in I am a Farm Pro dealer and am told they will be available through Homier if the dealers want them and I am sure we do.

The only platform type tractor from China that I am aware of is the new LENAR series II 25HP. It has synchro trans and shuttle with all the controls on the dash. They should be arriving 1st qtr of '04. LENAR is trying to position itself between the traditional Chinese tractor and the Japanese/Korean leaders. If they don't loose to much of the Chinese price advantage and if the regional distributors properly support their dealers, LENAR should be a contender. The nearest Lenar dealer to you BJR2351 is probably Willie at Pacific Avenue Equipment in Yakima.

As for the JINMA Chippers we have some in stock here in Arkansas.

I have to say after much experimenting myself the fastest way to split wood, stumps included, is a hydraulic demolition hammer mounted on a full-size TLB and equipped with a sharpened spade bit.

Of course it's far from cost-effective to split wood with a $75,000 TLB equipped with a $10,000 breaker, but it sure makes fast work of wood.

I have been working on a 4-way splitter which would go in place of the bucket, the idea is to be able to pick up ablock and then split it over the truck or trailer, but there are many small problems to overcome still.

Yes TomG it does shorten the top link going forward if you desire. At least with my NH 33D when scraping dry hard-packed clay you really don't want to engage or scrape too much. If you tip the scraper backward too much and try to drive backward you get a jacking action when the scrpaer digs in and raises the rear wheels. But keep the scraper tipped backward, drop it slightly, and go forward it tends to smooth out the dirt very nicely. If the ball valve is not fully closed it tends to act like a "shock absorber" which allows the scraper to follow the ground contours as if the top link isn't connected.

There is a local company who produce pellets, they also supply shavings and sawdust in bulk or bagged form to the local horse and dairy operations, etc. for bedding material.

I'm told they have some deal with a big company in a major city whereby they take scrap wood (pallets, crates, etc.) out of the conventional waste stream and divert it to their own use. They grind the scrap wood, pass it under an electro-magnet to remove metal and then convert it to pellets, thereby passing the savings on. One man's waste is another man's heating source, LOL. They package the pellets in old feed sacks, but could put it anything I suppose.

How is it you buy semi loads, do you buy as part of a co-operative or something?

I don't know about availability down there but up here we can gewt add-on units which stand next to a forced air furnace and dump their heat directly into the plenum for distribution as central heating, the oil or whatever else would then just be back-up or supplemental heat. One of these units would be ideal for a drying setup. If you have an outdoor feed bin almost any farm should be able to sell you dried corn for a good price.
