I keep my pics on the computer as well as burn them to CD for storage purposes. Then put the cd's in safety deposit box. My wife is a picture nut and if something would happen to the computer or house and she would lose her pictures WW III would start. I also keep a copy stored on my laptop. I'm looking into getting a 100 gig external hard drive to go between the laptop and desktop. I may end up getting a new desktop and use the old one as a server and for storage only. So many decisions to make!!!

yes sir I am. Havent seen or heard a word of the "xs". I'm just wondering if somebody has built an aftermarket type of doodad for this machine. This was the best seller we ever had untill the DK's came out. It WAS my beans, cornbread and dessert all rolled into one. Really looking forward to the bigger CK's that have been promised to us later next year.

At that price we may need to look into importing. We are purchasing at semi load quanities anyways. Who are you purchasing from?
I was curious about suppling bulk pellets. The reusable folding plastic gaylords are a little over $100 dollars each. With a plastic liner, lids and fold down sides it would allow you to scoop your pellets and the gaylord could sit outside. I am curious what it could do to price.
I am not sure that I could easily dry pellets. with my stove. At present it sits in the family room with gold trim so?
I guess I could set up an out side dryer of some sort? I have a old feed hopper. Again I am not sure it is work it. We are already far lower than conventional heating costs.

I feel the need to add my 2 cents worth to this post...since we got 8" of snow this weekend. I took my (new to me) TC45D with R4's out to play...and it was more work than I had planned...I don't have a loader yet...so not enough weight on the front end to make the front tires be much better than worthless...I used a 7' Woods rear blade to clean the driveway....and it worked better going backwards, with the cutting edge facing the tractor. Still didn't get as much snow of the stone driveway as my old Cub super garden tractor did with a front blade....my guess is...not enough weight, and R4 tires suck in snow....

According to the manual starting the tractor and running it for 30 seconds bleeds out any air. Not sure how...since I know other tractors have a more complex procedure.

I ran it for an hour after getting it started and had no problems.

Dodge Cummins owners have great pride in their engines, but Cummins is in business to make a profit. If they are not contractually excluded from selling engines to other manufacturers I can't see them turning down the business. What would Dodge do, stop using them? As Murf said, they'd have a customer rebellion if they did that. Since Ford sells more trucks than Dodge I'm sure it would be a bigger market for them anyway. Money talks.

I know what you mean about the front tires. I have turfs on my 41115 and I don't think there is room to stick my finger between the sidewall and the steering knuckle..<br>

Have you looked at cable chains? They are designed for the close clearances on front wheel drive cars and might work for your application. I think they work better on cleared surfaces and ice than traditional chains anyway.

By all accounts Amsoil makes good oil, and I've used it in the past, but I'm not convinced it's any better than Mobil-1.

Chief, the performance of the SHO is awesome and it sure is fun to drive. That Yamaha engine is amazing. Ford could never build an engine that good - I don't understand why they consistently make weak engines with less hp per ci than any other manufacturer. This car is only worth about $2k now, but the SHO has inspired an enthusiastic following and it wouldn't suprise me if the value has bottomed out and will actually climb a little from this point on. Especially because ours is a rarer 5-speed model.

BigAl, I don't know about the 1/4" off peg thing but I would expect an engine with a properly designed and maintained cooling system to be able to maintain a constant working temperature winter or summer. As long as your engine gets up to a good working temperature the situation you describe sounds ideal to me.

peterR, I got to thinkin' about this and should have asked if you have tried asking the dealer if he would swap out cylinders one for one and UPS you a new cyliner? Sure would save you a LOT of driving. My John Deere dealer UPS's me stuff all the time. It is an hour drive to the dealer and not really worth it unless I am picking up alot of stuff.

I'd be taking right back (carefully) to the people that installed it, you shaould NEVER have less than about 6" of clearance under the plow mount.

We got talked into buying one, the price was too good to pass up, they REALLY wanted us to have one, it's a good machine, but for the price (if I had to pay full retail) there are other things I'd rather have.

I can see however where it would be a good machine for a 'single machine' operation, say the grounds dept. at a big facility, college or university. The big problem is to use it as a utility vehicle you are putting too many hours on a VERY expensive vehicle instead of say an ATV, Gator, Mule, Ranger, etc., is not an cost effective use of it, sort of like going grocery shopping with a $250,000 semi-truck.

Personally, I'd get a utility buggy and a CUT, then enjoy spending the change left over still.

I'd have to agree with Murf on that one. I helped my brother pour some of those and it took forever and they shifted too much even with a base of stone. You could either go with walking stones or pavers if you didn't want to go for the solid concrete walk.

A while back I was chatting with the owner of the dealership I deal with, he has been in the farm Equipment business a long time, I think he is the 3rd generation in the business. While I was speaking with him an employee of his came in to collect a few bucks from him, the company had a 'lottery pool' and all employees contributed and would share in any winnings.

At the time the grand prize was over $30,000,000 so I casually asked him if he would sell out retire if they won the big prize.

Without hesitation he replied, "Nah, I'd keep running this place until I ran out of money."

The sad part was he wasn't far off reality.

Think hard, several times over........

This may not effect the original purpose of this thread (mowing etc.) but I have found for picking up logs or anytime you need to be a bit more delicate with the loader that my shuttle shift allows me to idle down easily and reduce the pump output. I can run the foot throttle and clutch like a car. You should also be able to do this with the GST. I'm thinking that with a hydro you set some RPM with the hand throttle that gives you enough power and you're stuck with whatever pump output that RPM gives you, even if the loader ends up too fast for the job. Then you end up trying to operate the loader and the throttle with the same hand. I've read some complaints here about the jerky operation of the FEL and I'm guessing it might be because of this limitation.
