20" and still snowing hard,winds are gusting 40 mph. The snow bank at the end of my drive has got to be five feet!
I went out at 4 AM and plugged in my new 7500 with a 54"
3pth blower.
I was thinking I went a little overboard with this tractor,
but this morning I hope it's big enough !! Where's my cab?
Nothing like a blizzard to try something new.

The return ride from a jump like that is usually a real hull craker.<br>

The Coast Guard used to have a photo much like that. They had one of their 44 foot rescue boats and goot it a bit higher in the air than your photo. The shot was taken of a Boat off the Oregon Coast in the winter of about 1972. I talked to the captain who did the deed for the shot. The boat almost did not recover from the fall as it displaced so much water on the fall, it almost submerged. And that rescue boat, was designed to survive stuff like that.<br>

You are right. I have not taken delivery on the tractor yet as I need insurance first. Kubot'a Insurance will cover the loan only. Though I have about $250,000 of coverage for my personal property, the new Farmer's agent will not cover the tractor. We are looking at other insurance companies. As for the loaning, ya, under normal circumstances I do not lend or borrow, except I was borrowing his tractor for the last 20 years, it would be hard to say, you can not borrow my new tractor.

Chief I agree, these trucks are TOO much $$$$ to tear em' up hotrodding around. I do have a new intake and straight piped exhaust but no "real" modifications. I toyed with the chip idea,but what do I need it for???

I STILL would take the HP and torque the manufacturers want to give me, even if it is only for bragging rights :) How long before Ford or GM counters? Seems like GM is due for a boost next. I think they thought that the Duramax would stay on top longer than it did. Ford and Dodge were already ahead and now Dodge will widen the margin even further.

The way it's going soon we'll be heading for 18 wheeler power ratings from 25 years ago :0

Deere is marketing a three point PTO operated 10 kw generator that is matched for size and output to their X series 24 horse diesel lawn tractors. If you didn't know, the X series is the same size (tires/hitch) as the BX.

It should make very close to the rated wattage with your BX. I just bought one for my 4115 and would be happy to share specs with you. They didn't paint it green so it will not clash with your orange paint.

The systems normally pump into the top of the rad and take the cold water out of the bottom. Thus if the rad is a little low then the water can still circulate by gravity.
From the description it would indicate that the thermostat is opening prematurely or staying open therefore the system is not heating up properly.

Thanks Chief. I did download the manual in advance of delivery. The dealer has uncrated the tiller and has done initial oil fill and lubrication. I will regardless give it a good looking over before I try it for the first time and check torques to specs.

Unfortunately my white Jetta was a $500 car to begin with, and to insure it with comp and/or collision, my ins co wanted a professional appraisal and other "hoops" jumped through, so I said to h#ll with it and just went with liability.<br>

Damage: Grill, right headlight, hood, right fender, maybe radiator support and right inner fender support. I hit HER (Too small to keep, but big enough to cause damage!)right in the head with my right headlight, so her behind swung around and distroyed the entire fender, but luckily not the door. If I can find a cheap fender I'll try to fix her.

FYI - The Agracat 2920 just arrived and I'm very please so far...I've put one whole hour on it so far! The FEL picks the front end off the ground with NO trouble at all.

Soon as I figure how to add some pics to this board I'll post them so all can gaze in wonder at what Mrs. Claus brought me. I'll also be back looking for help I'm sure. Merry Christmas to all and pray for snow in the River Falls, WI area...I gotta play with it now.

I have gotten off-road diesel from all three sized, leaded, regular and large truck size. Often off road is construction equipment and diesel is carried in large tanks to the larger nozzles are used.
Even if they can be inserted you need to take care when filling only a 6 gallon can. The higher rate of fill can catch you unawares.
I filled a few Jerry cans for racing with 100 and 120 av gas at the float plane base. I almost showered in it the first time as the 6 gallon (5 IMP) tank literally popped full.

Purchased my 2910 earlier this year. The machine now has 70 hours on it and it has performed flawlessly. The amount of projects I have found for the machine is amazing.

Actually your 3 pt. hitch is rated for 2,200 lbs. Provided your forks are rated for that much or more. I would think you would be fine. Half of 3,500 lbs. would be 1,750 lbs., add the weight of the forks and empty pallet and I think you will still be within the limits of the hitch. You have 450 lbs. to play with. Just take it nice, slow, and easy. Make sure your sway braces/arms are set to minimize lateral sway and try to remain on level ground as much as possible. Be VERY cautious on hills/slopes and traverse them at a 90 degree approach. If you have the FEL installed; that should give you a good bit of counter weight. Slow and easy is the name of the game so in the event that the front axle raises up on your or other issue, it happens slow and you have time to react and adjust.

John, I am 6'2" and find that I have PLENTY of room on my 4410. The tilt steering wheel and bucket control lever add to the ergonomics as Harvey stated. The seat offers several positions backwards and forwards. The operators station is a flat vibration isolated platform which would almost allow room for a small person but I would NEVER allow that. Stupidly dangerous. The John Deere 4310 would offer exactly what you are looking for in the hp range and features you want. It is one of the most popular models in the in 4000 Ten Series line up. Best advice I can give you is to shop around and try/demo as many color models as interest you and see what suits you best. Personally I prefer tht ergonomics and features offer in the Deere 4000 Ten Series tractors such as ehydro, criuse control, motion match, and load match. The separate pedals I find easier to work with. I am not too excited about the electric pto but I have adjusted to it and have had no problems with it. Good luck on your tractor quest!

I overnighted them a certified check and finaced 60% of it through NH credit 0%, 36 months on a Tuesday. The tractor left Corriher on that following Friday, Steve called, then the driver called me, He had a stops in WI, and IN, before me. He then called me at work Tuesday morning when he was a couple hours away and I shot home. So 1 week from commitment to delivery.

Each has it's place. Box blades are ideal for driveway maintenance and do a great job contouring dirt surfaces as they'll hold what they pick up rather than let it just spill off either side.

There are times when you'll want to angle a blade to move material off to one side (like snow removal) and they're great for that. If I were only able to buy one now, it'd be the box blade. I know a number of people who've welded up different ways to attach additional weight to them. One made a rack to accommodate suitcase weights and another added two rods so he could add barbell weights he already had.

In addition to Moose's comments, use winter blend diesel. It prevents gelling and also starts easier. In real cold climates winter blend is close to straight #1. Battery blankets help spin the starter faster. Clean the battery terminals and chassis end of the ground cable. Crack the hand throttle more than usual and a compression release can help if it has one. Don't use starter fluid.
